Why will Igbos contribute to establish sea port in the east whereas proceeds from crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta go for development of the SW and Northern regions up to Niger Republic? President Buhari did that for 8 years. Anymore of that from the successor to Buhari shall spell the end of Nigeria. Oyibo people that hold one Nigeria have been seeing the evil development pattern introduced by Nigeria against the old Eastern region since the end of the civil war in Nigeria. No Nigerian ethnic group or a combination of ethnic groups in Nigeria has the power to stop any major ethnic group from exiting Nigeria, unless Oyibo weighs in.

Stop this fallacy, there are functional and currently underutilized ports in that region as at today. The Calabar Port Complex in Cross River State. The Delta Ports in Warri, Delta State and the Rivers Port Complex and Onne Port Complex both in Rivers State.

Dont be in a hurry to reply for argument sake. I made a simple statement of fact. Which of those ports you mentioned can berth a full sized ship?

Will they? Buhari has executed the most numbers of infrastructural projects in the SE including the Niger bridge until today what are they calling him?

Anyway this discussion is for the SE governors, reps, senators and assembly members to bring to the table to lobby like everyone else.

The ibo importers simply refuse to use the other Nigeria ports coz they feel Lagos ports are closest to the largest consumer markets, but instead of admitting that they'll publicly lie/claim the the other ports are non-functional, which is just another pretext to remain in Lagos. They making too much money in Lagos and know the other ports are functional but they no wan leave Lagos for anything.

When Ethiopian airlines added Enugu airport
to its international route, the same ibos refused to fly in/out through the airport. Yet they'll be the first to cry marginalizarion. All na Sakamaje.

Nigeria seaports are losing revenue to order neighbouring countries because they are not has deep as them. Lekki seaport is the solution to that. And it's only possible because of dredging. As it is the government are trying to create dry land port to ease the congestion at the lagos seaport which are yet to materialise. This is one of the reasons railways are being constructed and reconstructed to decongested cargoes at lagos port to the dryland ports and designated states. Lagos is not the problem. We are all in it together

Na u Mumu pass. Enugu airport u ppl failed to patronize. U will rather fly to Lagos to use airport .

Also PH port, Calabar port, Delta port are good for use. They have not coordinated themselves enough for all cargos. But they have the Terminals to do all kind of cargo. Every ibo man is waiting for seaport

The atlantic has no connection with the south east.
Even the southeast governor want seaport but there is very little they can do.

The best bet for the southeast is a southsouth sea port but this will not solve the problem, as every rational importer will perfer lagos port to every other port in Nigeria.

If the SE or SS have a seaport, why will igbo businessmen still use Lagos seaport considering the distance between SE and Lagos, the high cost of using Lagos seaport and the Lagos state govt level of extortion.

Pls define rational again?

First it was no seaport now it’s full size ship?

Okay, Onne does have the capacity if there’s need for expansion from high utilization in shre the NPA will do the needful. It alone generated 240bn in 2022 with over 20% increase in its usage. Onne currently has 12 berths and it’s being expanded to 19 in the future. Do you need more facts on others that I have listed
