benalvino3: If Russia wants a cease-fire, they can just stop bombing and trying to invade a country that didn't attack them. Easy right? But from the mind of someone who uses his head to open coconuts, it's all emotional based childish arguments "the US is aligned with Ukraine, so Ukraine must be bad because <fill in some mind numbingly stupid rational>". Your posts are like Fox News.. reading it makes you less informed. Congrats! 2 Likes 1 Share |

I am pro Ukrainian and by extension in this case pro American but where did i suggest the U.S replace China as peace brokers? I am of the philosophy that the only way to make peace with an invader is over their corpses and the current U.S policies is adhering to that and also I'm not in support of peace with the current status quo, until all Ukrainian territories are recovered peace be damned and the reason is simple, going forward every territory hungry aggressor will take precedence from whatever resolves from this war 2 Likes 1 Share

BraniacX: Crimean History has more to do with Russia than Ukraine. The bold i asked you to give citation on did not really show up in all this link you presented. I would have loved to see the Specific writeup about Ukrainian Aborigines exiled to Khazaks. britanica n wiki Crimea is a peninsula on the northern coast of the Black Sea that has a long and complex history of colonization and occupation by various powers. According to Britannica, the first settled occupation of Crimea was perhaps by the Cimmerians around 1000 BCE. In the following centuries, it was conquered and influenced by the Greeks, Romans, Scythians, Sarmatians, Goths, Huns, Khazars, Kipchaks, Mongols, Genoese, Ottomans, Russians and others. Wikipedia states that the most important Greek colonies in Crimea were Chersonesus near modern Sevastopol and Panticapaeum where Kerch now stands. These colonies came under Roman control in 15 BCE and survived until the 15th century CE. In the 10th century, Prince Vladimir I of Kievan Rus claimed these coastal cities and was baptized at Sevastopol, marking the beginning of the Christianization of Kievan Rus. However, Kiev could not retain Crimea, which fell to the nomadic Tatars of the Golden Horde. In the 13th century, the Genoese established commercial outposts along the coast, dominating the Black Sea trade until they were expelled by the Ottomans in 1475. The Ottomans recognized the Tatars of Crimea as an independent khanate under their suzerainty. The Tatars frequently raided Russia for slaves and resisted Russian expansion in the region. In 1783, Catherine II (the Great) annexed Crimea to the Russian Empire after defeating the Ottoman Empire in a series of wars. Crimea became a strategic location for Russia's naval power in the Black Sea. In the 19th century, Crimea was the site of the Crimean War (1853-1856), where Russia fought against an alliance of Britain, France, Turkey and Sardinia over the control of the Ottoman territories. The war ended with Russia's defeat and the loss of its naval base at Sevastopol. Many Crimean Tatars were forcibly dispersed to other parts of Russia after the war. In the 20th century, Crimea witnessed more turmoil and violence during the Russian Revolution, the Civil War, World War I and World War II. In 1921, Crimea became an autonomous republic within Soviet Russia. In 1944, Stalin ordered the deportation of all Crimean Tatars to Central Asia and Siberia as a punishment for their alleged collaboration with Nazi Germany. Many of them died during or after the deportation. In 1954, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev transferred Crimea from Russia to Ukraine as a gesture of goodwill. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Crimea remained part of independent Ukraine but retained a high degree of autonomy and a predominantly Russian-speaking population. In 2014, following a political crisis in Ukraine and a controversial referendum in Crimea, Russia annexed Crimea and declared it a federal subject of Russia. This move was widely condemned by most countries as a violation of international law and Ukraine's sovereignty. The current occupants of Crimea are mainly ethnic Russians who make up about 65% of the population according to a 2001 census. There are also Ukrainians (about 15%), Crimean Tatars (about 12%) and other minorities living in Crimea. The status of Crimea is disputed between Ukraine and Russia and remains a source of tension and conflict in the region. |

BraniacX: The Genesis of this discussion is about me saying the US is saying they will REJECT a peace deal ushered by China without knowing what the deal is about. https://youtube.com/shorts/ugvgTaMV51o?feature=share My stance is not pro-US, Russia, or China. I just want the war to end and it will not end like this except Russia can feel the pressure. that will only happen when their cities start going up in flames. If Ukraine continues like this, it will become a desert. The US will at some point lose interest. Europe is seeing a lot of protest concerning this and more and more people want an end to this conflict instead of sending weapons. as it is... people who support giving aid to Ukraine is 50% Its either they Do something significant or Call Russia to the Round table and look for solution. Now Iran is playing a big part on Russian Drone. Cost 20k. Ukraine used 500k missile to shoot them down. this is not sustainable. |

Drameeja: The last time I saw the push for this was in 2014 when the US organize a coup to remove the Ukrainian president. Brazil and SA and the usual were all in it. The push is strong again. China talked about a great change when he visited Russia. This will be devastating for the united States and as if Saudi Arabia joins, it's game over for the US economy. I don't think much will come out of this and things like this can usually trigger some kind of conflict. |

benalvino3: Methinks the cause if this war is NATO meddling. The West rigged their elections to have western supporting leaders NATO was formed to prevent a Russian aggression. If Ukraine joins it as they want, implies NATO is duty bound to have boots on the ground . Third world war.Ukraine should seek means to end the war. Kiev has not been touched so far as to prevent their partying and outdoor dinners. This war is strange. In the case of Pakistan/Afghanistan/Somalia etc terrorist training camps are routinely bombed. Can Russia bomb bases where Ukraine troops are being trained to come kill them?Or bomb supply line convoys on the western side delivering weapons to come kill them? |

basilico: Ukraine should be able to join whoever they want and they should fight for it. Russia on the other hand sees it as threat and they are taking actions. If US want to help Ukraine join, then they should take decisive action. They should do more. For how things are, the US is just interested in a proxy war. Give moderate asset that won't help Ukraine win the war. This can go on for a very long time without Ukraine gaining anything. So I think they should seek diplomatic solutions. |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by basilico: 10:31am On Mar 28, 2023 |
benalvino3: I think the proxy war is a get Putin scheme. Russia has always said that NATO in Ukraine is a red line from day one.biden thinks he repeat how Reagan was able to outspend the Russians till it broke up This situation is quite complex. On one hand the west is glad to test their weapons, weaken Putin to the point of him being overthrown, secure grain and fertilizer market and prospect for oil. There is also an issue with laundering money, is all the cash being sent being used by Ukraine or is some wired back? The Military Industrial Complex is happy churning out arms , big sales for them. Eastern Ukraine has always been restive with alleged war crimes committed by the Ukrainians and the rebels. |

basilico: The Rebels are no saint as well, they used russia delivered BUK STA missile to shoot down a passenger jet. I followed the 2014 crisis. I was a strong supporter of Ukraine back then. I realized Obama's admin was behind the conflict that still did not sway me. It is only after i realized the pattern in Syria. Russia, Iran and China are all bad players. and if they are more powerful than the NATO, they would be doing what the US is doing or worse... These does not benefit anyone. i think they should talk to end this. |

benalvino3: Quite agree with Russia and China not becoming global powers.Ive always said America has been a force of good and I would rather them as the sole superpower. Nation building does not work for people who have lived under theocracy, dictatorships and monarchies. No matter how good your intentions are. Jesus of Chicago destabilized the ME by thinking he knew what's best for them. Today I think the leftist globalists have almost full global power. They dangle their market and China blinks They have sanctioned Russia to the hilt. No country wants to undergo Russia like sanctions apart from Iran which is ruled by a crazy theocrats. Ukraine was messed up by American interference in their elections. So many other countries have leftist leaders at the helm. America interfered with Israel elections, meddled in Hungary, on to Georgia right now. I have a stinky feeling that Pre Bush American hegemony was about resources, unlike today's intentions of these globalists |

Trump is the one who tried to fight it and he was labelled a racist. Sanctions are becoming an outdated weapon of the united states. 1 Like |
