The bold is sensationalism at best and an attempt to rewrite history from what we know .

The only recorded dispute between Obj and Tinubu was the 37 additional creation which Tinubu did and Obj felt it was an illegal thing to do. For educational purposes , this is what happened :

1. Tinubu of Lagos and governors of Eboyin, Nassarawa , Katsina and Niger states created additional LGA’s in their respective states cos they felt it will bring the government closer to the people .

2. OBJ the president felt it was illegal cos even though constitution empowered state assemblies to create LGA’s, the condition that National Assembly must have made provisions as regards names and headquarters of the LGA’s before they become legal had not been met.

3. OBJ was angered that the aforementioned states still went ahead to conduct LGA elections in those Newly formed LGA’s , so he ordered the minister to withhold LGA allocation to those states just to force them back to status quo .

4. Tinubu’s Lagos state challenged this decision in court up to Supreme Court level and won the case . In the process Lagos state had to change the 37 newly formed LGA to LCDA . Lagos state won at the Supreme Court but OBJ refused to comply fully with the court judgement ; he only released part of the funds before Yar Adua came and released the outstanding funds .

PS: Osinbajo defeated the legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola in this case . No be big man lawyer dey win case , na how solid ur case is sometimes .

OBJ and Tinubu no get issues beyond both of them belonging to different political parties and each wanting his party’s interest to be above the other’s
