Forgiveness requires from us. It generally requires a confession, renunciation and some penance/restitution. Carolyn Bryant Donham died in Hospice Care meaning she knew she would die. Show me her apology (taking accountability to what she wrought in the Till's family life) or her penance or restitution to at the minimum the Till family, let alone broader society for the trauma of that moment. She never even fully acknowledged her role in what happened.
