He might as well take the bull by the horns on his first day. Make it sudden rather than consult, before anti subsidy removal protestors can gather to protest cheesy

Take the hard issues on from first day. Your biggest goodwill is on the day of inauguration it usually dwindles from there onwards

Surprisingly, all the filling stations I saw on my way home are still selling at 230/litre and there's no queue. This is really unlike them. I don buy as much as I can buy. Fingers crossed.

They sell 184 in my backyard here in Lagos, but queue long like River Nile.

Dey play doc! How many filling stations he wan punish ?

For example I’ve been to like 6 filling stations close to me this afternoon and they’ve all stopped selling fuel.

The other two selling have very very long queues while selling at an inflated rate. He can’t even punish half of filling stations in one local government .

We are still back at the discussion we had last time that there are so many dishonest people in this Nigeria . Marketers who bought fuel at normal price are hoarding it to sell at whatever the new price will be going forward .

That is one thing with Naija. Even when the objective is good, the implementation will be bad. Hoarding is economic sabotage and should be met with severe punishment.

We better see the same austerity measures in the reduction in the cost of government.

Most of these govt parastatals have not adopted any austerity measures. The missus has a friend in BOI who was recently made a manager. The woman was entitled to a car of 20m value or so. That was when I realised the fg has not gotten the memo. Private sector has stopped buying cars for anyone but the ogas at the top top because of austerity

Then we have Kaduna refinery which has apparently never refined a drop of product in its existence, which the long over due nnpc audits revealed to be a perennially loss making business with a full board and fleet of workers.

There is a lot of waste that simply needs to go.

I said I’ll ignore Nigeria matter for now but we all have loved ones there and we have to hope it works.

I’ve been talking to two siblings and their dad (my uncle sort of) for years now… and they are all excited to japa here when they finish school. One is done with studies and the other completing NYSC… I just got a text this morning before work that the dad slumped and died in the middle of the market…. With millions in account, no Nigerian could give CPR, no ambulance or emergency…, they left him hours till the kids came to pick his body up.
The picture fuckd up my day, can’t even call the brothers… Naija gats work and we need proven leaders not sweet talks and shiit
sorry bro

It’s annoying . Filling stations just dey close gate on people’s face immediately they receive call from their owners.

In 2011 on new years day I was on Nairaland where I saw the thread about gej cancelling subsidy. I immediately went to a station with all my kegs. I told this other guy who was buying fuel there. Do you know once the fucker bought his fuel he told the attendants fuel subsidy had been cancelled. That was how they made calls and closed the gate. I wondered what kind of fooking prick would sort himself and then deliberately slam the door.

Sounds like Tinubu knows how to keep generals who lost battles honorably in rotation. Fayemi also got a ministerial slot in Buharis admin.

Was dozing on the sofa, a call came in, I answered, then checked the thread and immediately made a beeline for the pickup.

As I was on the last keg

The queues are back and in force, but I am good for maybe two weeks. Only thing I could not do was fill the missus ride. Will have to use one of these.

Looks like Tinubu is going for the hardcore austerity measures. For a guy who works from home, this will be hard. I may finally wind up buying a diesel gen

And so it begins cry cry cry
This is a message. If bat can push this in his inaugural speech, he is saying loud and clear it's austerity time.
Our record breaking gallonz d’or winner😂😂

cool

There is no better time to announce the removal but now. Filling Stations would still do same if he announces it later or at end of June.

We will adjust to it gradually, Jagaban is not your usual presidents, work begins from Day 1.

How much are regular stations selling without queue

Generally, you guys in Lagos buy fuel cheaper than those of us in the South South.

The least I've bought this year without queue is 205

I guess losing at the Supreme court by Oyetola changed the dynamics

So its Gbaja back to House of Rep as floor member

When Adeleke or Aregbe wants to meet the president and has to go through the Chief of Staff Oyetola na that go funny pass

I don’t buy in other regular stations , I only buy at NNPC and Mobil close to me and they sell for 185 and 184 respectively .

The other stations I checked out are closing gate and not selling . But I think they normally sell around 200 or thereabouts.

On behalf of the people of the United States, I send warm wishes to the government and people of Nigeria as they inaugurate a new President.

My administration has worked to strengthen ties between the United States and Nigeria, and I look forward to continuing this work with President Tinubu to support economic growth, advance security, and promote respect for human rights.

The people-to-people connections between our two countries run particularly deep, nurtured by a vibrant Nigerian Diaspora in the United States.  As we further deepen our partnership with Nigeria, I look forward to drawing even more on the ideas and energy of this dynamic connection between our countries.

As Africa’s largest democracy and economy, Nigeria’s success is the world’s success.  Elected leaders owe it to their people to show that democracy can deliver for their needs.  And the United States will continue to work closely with Nigeria, as a friend and partner, to deliver a more peaceful and prosperous future for our world.

- President Joe Biden

If u read that congratulatory message he sent Adeleke , he mentioned something about his followers not to be weary for losing Osun state but not forget they won the whole Nigeria .

That suggests he’s moving to the bigger picture.
