Hoily:LMAO. Start-up capital is just one part of the problem; multiple taxation by the government is what hinders businesses. Entrepreneurs have to pay taxes to the Federal Government, State Government, Local Government, as well as deal with "unofficial but legal individuals" who demand taxes, such as touts. These taxes can be monthly, semi-annual, or annual. Sometimes, you end up paying the same tax to different entities in different ways. For example, the Federal Government collects income tax, while the state government collects its own income tax. You keep your shop and its surroundings clean, pay individuals to dispose the waste and still pay the government for sanitation. You also have to pay electricity bills to NEPA and spend a significant amount on fuel to run your power generators. These are just a few minor examples. Hoily:. I disagree, give an average youth a lumpsum today and check his business in 6 months. Of all the factors of production, entrepreneurship/entrepreneur seems to be the only factor you can't stumble upon. Start a plan when you don't have all other factors and see it materialize when the other factors find it's way to you.
