happney65: Many people are dumb, do you think that the federal government intentionally refused to make Nigerian refineries function? You need a sound lecture on geopolitics and the world oil mafias: Nigerian presidents both past and present are stooges to these mafias, fail to do there bidding and get killed instantly, the same goes for power, Nigeria is not independent brother, it's just only on paper, Nigeria is under the control of strong wicked foreign powers, know this and know peace 2 Likes |

HacheNoire: You probably think that Naija is a normal country. All things being equal, price should drop in time but things are never equal here. Even if there's a major drop in the price of crude oil, you will not see a commensurate drop in the price of fuel because they will collude to defraud us...giving hundreds of excuses. It's is only competition in local refining that will save us.... Even at that, government must be uncompromising for it to work properly. Our business men are the most wicked and greedy on earth and they ve the backings of top government officials. 1 Like |

kay10: I agree with you but government should avoid spending a dime on those old refineries again. They should sell them off to foreigners if necessary and can work it out . It's an avenue to steal from government in the name of repairing. I will advise government to encourage individual locals and indigenes that are very serious and have the capacity to merge to take up the challenges of the modular refineries. Their complaints has been, it has to be deregulated and Forex window unified. That one fulfilled now. What next. So let's see their next excuses now. Anyone not serious, their licence should be withdrawn. on an average, it takes less than 30 months to build a working modular refiniries and should be encouraged more in states where there are proximity to crude oil. so that government can subsidize the crude oil , sell it to them for the maintime, automate the distribution to avoid smuggling, then espect the price to come down drastically. I believe that is what tinubu government trying to do with time because he has been promoting modular refiniries through osinbajo then but it went down the drain by buhari cabals and their policies. with this, the money will be circulating within the economy and other foreigners that have similar refiniries will not be taking all the money and profits outside the country.. If it works, sub saharan regions will also have a taste of competitive price of fuels and will help nigeria grow well. Situation nigerians find themselves now ia between the devil and the deep blue sea. Government is trying to prevent what is happening in srilanka, venezuela, argentina and lebanon. Before we get to half of what they are passing through as they ran out of foreign reserves and no one ready to bail them out, its better we face a regretable reality. They have looted nigeria dry but we must move forward now because if not, if it goes out of hands, its the masses that will still suffer and kill themselves not them. 2 Likes |

The boys in the creeks were endangering their lives and refining crude oil in barrels that year... What would it cost this government to empower those guys and get them standardized and licensed and refining this thing legally so that we stop packing our hard earned currency to dash other nations for something we can produce ourselves? No serious country can grow with the kind of consumerism mentality that is killing us in Nigeria o! Look at China, they stopped importation less than 40 decades back and produced all their stuff locally and look at them today. We need to start somewhere... |

Poleski: Well, business people need to make money to pay their workers a competitive salary, that won't make them japa to other companies or abroad, and to pay for all the equipment they use, their maintenance, and any necessary upgrades. Government does not pay them anything... Or would you sell at a loss to help the poor? |

princekwi: Thank you. It is for this reason I've been saying that Dangote's refinery will never get off the ground and produce as promised. The West does not want Africa period to be independent... it must not control its natural resources. Nigeria has crude oil... but will not be allowed to refine it and shut out the West. ExxonMobil and Shell and the others ... why would we believe they would be shut out by Dangote from supplying African countries with refined petroleum products? As I see it.... Dangote will be unable to service his debts and his refinery will be taken over by his foreign investors and only then will it be functioning as promised. Who then will really be supplying Africa with the refined products? We will still be at the mercy of the merciless " foreign investors". Competition is good ... it helps to control prices. In this case we will know if the NNPCL was ripping us off. As a government entity they are not supposed to be making a profit. The marketers are in it to make a profit ... that's business. They are both buying at market prices.... using foreign exchange. If the marketers can sell at the same price as NNPCL or less.... it means we were being ripped off by the NNPCL.... Tinubu need to have them investigated... and charged if need be. We should never expect prices to drop because of competition... in this the price at the pump depends on the strength of the Naira to the dollar .... and the price of crude. No doubt... giving licenses to have small local refineries is good... but with the savings from subsidies the FG should also make loans available to help locals have them up and running. I believe this will be the only way to bring down prices in the long run or we will continue to bleed foreign exchange on imports which is not sustainable. |

Originalsly:\ Federal government will not be open concerning the local refineries as people speculate, the eagle eyed mafias are also watching, the way the federal government can indirectly support it is through Terrorism, that's a group like Bokoharam pretending to be fighting for oil build lots of refineries while federal government pretend that they can't do anything about it, that's the only way, Nigeria resources are in for grabs by these devilish wolves. The Nigerian weak point is disunity, tribalism, that's why no leader can be strong enough to fix our refineries because those western powers always threaten them with dividing the Country if they fail to do their bidding which the federal government does not want. Only unity can give the federal government power to fix certain things and stand against the western powers since they will not see who to use to distabilise the Country. Our problem is greed and non patriotism, some people out of greed will just agree to do their bidding and enrich themselves we are our own enemies 1 Like |
