They don't. I watched a video of a white guy explaining to group of people on how it will be more beneficial to the West if Africa is kept underdeveloped. So many propaganda and all. Is really hard to understand the world system.
People just dey chat to chat. These countries have underlying issues that are responsible for their instability and have not built strong enough institutions that can even uphold any type of democracy. If you like paper the cracks, one crazeman will wake up again in 10 years and scatter everything.

Some are still under the clutches of Imperial rule from the West that has stagnated their growth but we think placebo democracy is what counts. Look at Cameroon. How are they different from country under military rule

Lol.
How many of these are still under military rule?

Imagine the audacity to accuse anybody for something you are known for on this forum.

You that lacks any original thought process in your life.
If you are asked to pick a place of interest to have a conversation in, you'll still ask for help from your egbons.

I mean right now, look at you fishing for supportπŸ˜‚ on a forum ooo. My God 😁
May not totally agree with you on all things but that guy alongside gloriousgbola are definitely the two most unintelligent guys on this thread.
Gloriousgbola always off point 🀣🀣,always talking out of his arse, the other guy do not have a single common sense.

Is it a must that every country under the sun must practice democracy ? Let's start from there.

If America's democracy permits them to look away when things go wrong under a democratically elected government, why do they suddenly gain interest when the citizens of the country resort to self help ? Is that not hypocrisy?

You are the one that set the tone of the argument sir, I'm only questioning the logic of your argument.

Whether all country of the earth should practice democracy or not is another topic entirely.

What I'm asking you is that why do you think those who call themselves champions of democracy should resort to toppling down the same democracy that they champion? Don't you get it?

If a govt is democratically elected, remove them democratically also.

I like as people are not responding to mentions of people.

Lmao.
As e wan turn agenda.
Nobody has said ecowas should not intervene.
They have said use the diplomatic route as against using the military route.
The stakes are different here and we know the world is in a different place.
We can see how the west and Russia are literally showing interest especially with Russia wanting to expand their interest in Africa.

But again.. You guys are beginning to view this as a "I want to win this argument" thing.
Wooh okay

Chad is not part of Ecowas.

Burkina Faso was suspended from Ecowas after their coup.

There was intervention in Guinea but it was diplomatic and the agreement was that the govt will transition to civilian rule in 2025 with the coupist not being eligible to ever contest future elections.

It's not the first time Ecowas is intervening in coup in West Africa. Buhari and Ecowas sent forces into Gambia when the President that lost election refused to hand over to the winner of the election and force him to handover.

We share the longest border with Niger, whatever is happening there will have ripple effect toward us.

The bold is what I suggested, but Izzou's position is making it seem like if ECOWAS and Nigeria by extension doesn't go gun blazing and neutralizing the coupists, then no other solution will work.

Ecowas itself is not going gun blazing at the first instance are they?

Of which nobody has said Tinubu should do absolutely nothing. We are saying military invasion should not even be an option. How hard is this to understand

Sanction and do whatever you want but don't use scarce resources to fight war wey no concern us. Na coup happen no be say them invade another country. I'm pretty sure if a coup happened in Nigeria you wouldn't appreciate other countries suggesting they invade your country

The same clowns that have been saying people from the South East should ask BAT for help before any military intervention in Nigeria are the same ones pushing for Nigeria to invade a sovereign country...I wonder if they've asked the people of Niger what they think.
Realistically,Nigeria and Ecowas can not sit back without intervening. It’s not possible for them to just fold their arms without doing nothing.

This is a solid point. USA today was built on great ideas. America got it right before they started practising near true democracy.

There was a time in America that not everyone can even vote. Exams like literacy test was conducted and if you fail, you will not be able to vote.

I will always say this, if democracy is good for America, CCP is good for China also.

Well I can't but see America as meddlesome interloper if they will look away from countries they "mentor" when things do go right under democracy, but they will suddenly find voice the moment democracy is threatened in such countries. It's like, they actually do not care about anything aside democracy.

In far away Africa where US has military scattered in most of the country that borders Niger. How many military base does Russia has in Africa not to talk of Africa?

This is not Asia or middle east where Russia can flex military muscles.

I think you are misunderstanding the role and use of US military bases in Africa. The military bases are essentially for emergent evacuations or rescue operations of US citizens around Africa and not for invasion of a country. Remember the hostage rescue operation in 2020 or there about by US special forces?

The US will support any military action by proxy and support of ammunition and intelligence, not physical presence. The same way Russia will support Wagner.
