amanze54: This is a significant decision and both options have their own set of pros and cons. As a **prison officer**, you'll have a stable job with a decent starting salary. It's a job that comes with a good deal of responsibility and can be highly rewarding if you're interested in a role that has a real impact on people's lives. However, working in a prison environment can be stressful and challenging, requiring strong emotional resilience. On the other hand, the **physics teacher training program** also offers many benefits. Firstly, you'd receive a bursary which essentially pays you while you train. On completion of the course, you'll have qualifications that allow you to teach not just in the UK but in many places around the world. Teaching can be a rewarding career if you enjoy helping others learn and grow. Additionally, the demand for physics teachers is high, which could mean job security and potential for advancement in the future. However, teaching can also be a demanding job and at the end of your training, you would need to secure a teaching position which might be challenging. Here are a few factors to consider: 1. **Your Interests:** Which role aligns more closely with your interests and career goals? Are you more interested in working in law enforcement and rehabilitation, or in education? 2. **Work-Life Balance:** Consider the working hours and how this could impact your work-life balance. Teaching often requires work outside of classroom hours, such as marking and lesson planning. Similarly, being a prison officer could involve shifts and potentially stressful situations. 3. **Job Security:** While both professions are in demand, you already have a job offer as a prison officer. As a teacher, you'll still need to secure a job after your training. 4. **Long-Term Prospects:** Which role has better long-term prospects in terms of job satisfaction, salary growth, and career progression? 5. **Peculiarity of the Country:** You mentioned the peculiarity of the country (UK). It's important to understand how these roles are perceived, the challenges each profession faces, and their future outlook in the UK context. Given these points, it ultimately depends on your personal preference, career goals, lifestyle, and interest in either of the fields. You may also want to seek advice from professionals in both fields or career advisors to gain more insight. **Copied** 3 Likes |

amanze54: Well, I was once in this shoe of making a related decisions but mine align with my careers. But I prioritized job security which permanent job over contract job. Considering the fact that the prison officer role is a civil service job, it’s might be a little bit easier for you to move to other departments within civil service that relates well with your career goals. For instance if you’ve got good skills and experience in data analytics, while at the prison officer job continue submitting more applications for jobs that aligns with your goals. The reason why I prefer permanent is that 1. Settle mind / peace of mind. 2. No pressure in applying for job that doesnt relate to your goals anymore. 3. Considering the competition for job out there. 4. Better plan for the future. If to say the two jobs are permanent, I would have advised to go for the one that will give more flexibility since both are not related to my career goals, so you will have more time to apply and upskill your self more to search for job that aligns with your goal. 3 Likes |

Noworries11: In hazard perception, make sure you click each perceived hazard at least 3 times and not more than 5 times to avoid clicking too early or too late. And don't click more than 10 times for each hazard perception video. You only need to score at least 3 marks in each video to pass 2 Likes |

Yeah you are right bro, but during interview for mostly data science you will discover that each firm has adopted a particular particular application and protocol, then I go back to updating my skills on that. A very vast field. But at this point man must wack while pushing for the big prize Goke7: 1 Like |

Goke7: Lol, met a friend of a friend earning 95k, just a sneak peak into the person cv, I’m also vast in most of the skills but packaging no too dey, lol. But we will get there shaa. You are right in regards to his master’s qualifications, I remembered when I was rejected for an NHS job interview just because I’ve not got the qualification but only got the experience. Was told that they give preference to qualifications over experience, so therefore unfortunately is the message. Lol 😂 But just note that if you’ve got qualifications you need to still no what you are doing. 1 Like |

Yeah you have a point there, I have looked that I have advantage to bargain but salaries are fixed for the role, also since I don't have other jobs offer on the table, I feel I need to take up one Atk1nson: |

The teaching training was advertised But when I came to UK and created a new Facebook account here in UK and link it to all my Google activity ( these activities includes jobs application and assessment I have done in the early days when I arrived in the uk September 2021), I am always having feeds of government job opportunities and training on my Facebook wall. I applied to both jobs on the link in those feeds on my Facebook.

Please I just need a clarification on this student visa. 1. Can a student visa (MA) become a dependent of (Skilled worker) while course is still ongoing? 2. Can a student visa holder for course starting September 2023 still apply for dependent visa for the spouse. (Been trying to get this information for a friend but couldn’t get the actual answer, except from someone that have tried it) |

amanze54: Take the teaching role - you will be snatched up quickly as a Physics teacher. You can also choose to teach A levels only removing any behaviour issues in class. Even at higher secondary level, most students in your class will be there by their choice and academic ability 1. QTS is widely accepted everywhere 2. You can easily transit out of teaching after your NQT year (so max 2 years teaching) into other fields (check the bursary doesn't have a timeframe to it) 3. You will be able to work part time in your study field (school holidays, weekends should you choose to do so) 4. The teaching experience will not be lost when you transit into your data thingymajingy. Teaching experience and skills is one of the most general and versatile skill sets to have But then I am biased as qualified teacher - PS I have used my teaching quals from the UK in 3 western countries so far and I officially stopped teaching 6 years ago. 2 Likes |

amanze54: Both jobs are on a government salary scale and both also have defined pensions. Teachers are employed by the LEA and follow that scale. Unless you end up in a private school. |

Could you please give an insight about Lincolnshire as a whole (cost of living and jobs), cuz I'd wanted to move to Nottinghamshire seeing that rent might be cheaper there and jobs are kinda much there. I need update on jobs in Lincolnshire AltCtrlDel: |
