Let me talk about the first one. It's very common. It do happen to me. How I normally overcome;
if I want to travel, I will make sure that I empty my bowel before boarding a vehicle.
Then I will look for bitter collar and be chewing it as we move. Bitter collar does the magic for me.

Nose bleed is a symptom of low blood pressure!
Go and check your blood pressure and know how to take care of yourself if you have low blood pressure!

i can relate to the car sickness....
but mine is a bit different.

i would be fine in a moving vehicle, but the moment i open any book to read, press my phone or just do any thing that requires any concentration at all, i immediately develop an instant headache (very severe headache o).

i really envy pple that can press their phones/read on transit....
Let dy road av potholes nd it will be as if ur head wants to split

It never happened to me in Nigeria but when I moved to SA, precisely when I relocated to the eastern cape...
It happened to me the day I was going to resume a security job in a town called Elliotdale...
Oh boy I just weak..couldn't breathe well.... e b like say i won die...
Had to tell the supervisor to wind down the glass
The second occurrence was a month later....I was traveling down to another town to do some financial transaction(wanted to send money home).
So I was in the car...and after few minutes, this thing started... I was feeling tired and couldn't breathe properly and was weak.. had to tell the driver to wind down..
The 3rd one happened when I was returning.. I hiked( what we call sole in yoruba). The driver noticed my inconveniency, and had to wind down ..I didn't even tell him... he observed..
Since then I get this things once In a while but the effect is light that I may not notice... only notice if am not busy talking or focus with something else....
Well I guess my body got used to high altitude now.. but if am in a car n there's no chance for little air to come in... I feel it but just a Lil bit for me to recover n increase the air that I breathe.
Well as for the nose bleeding, I don't bleed but sometimes see blood when I blow my nose.. this happened few months when I just moved to SA... it's never happened again.
Some South Africans experience this nose bleed alot

I had to check again to be sure I didn't write this. I get car sick and my nose bleeds (especially when I have any impact on my head). Growing up I went to many hospitals for my nose bleeding but there was no solution. The diagnosis was that I had weak capillaries in my nostrils (whatever that means). I haven't had nose bleeding in a long time though. I think I have outgrown the condition!
Samantha124:
1. Car sickness... If I'm traveling long distances, especially in the morning, I get sick... I start sweating, having short breath, getting nauseous and eventually throwing up... Same thing happens when I perceive the smell of cigarettes/weed.

Last time I threw up due to traveling long distances was this past Saturday, I had no choice because some things just had to be done in the morning, especially on weekends... As I was driving, I felt my condition getting worse but I had to keep driving because already I was running late... It was only when I felt that I couldn't keep up anymore that I parked on the roadside and threw up... I stayed outside the car for a while for some fresh air.

When I reached my destination, I started feeling better and the nausea started to suppress, only for this old man who smelled a cigarette/weed to come my way, I tolerated the smell hoping that he'll leave, but he just kept talking non-stop... The smell triggered the nausea again and before I knew it, I threw up for the second time... But fortunately, I had a sickness bag inside my hand bag because I always prepare myself for such situations whenever I'm traveling long distances.

It's like it runs within the family because I'm told that my maternal grandmother used to have the same condition, my aunt and sister are also experiencing the same thing... We have car sickness.

2. Nosebleeding... Like car sickness, this is something I've struggled with since I was a child... I could be playing, eating, sleeping, or just sitting back and doing nothing and my nose would just start bleeding... It used to be more frequent when I was a child, but as I got older it decreased to a point that I can now go a very long time without nose bleeding... But now some of my sisters' kids are experiencing the same problem.

Just last night I was talking to my 8 years old nephew over a video call when I noticed something coming out of his nose and it was blood... The boy wasn't even sick.

I've never met anyone outside of my family who can relate to having these two conditions... So I'm just curious to know if there's anyone who can relate in here.

The first one is quite common. At least to me. It is worse if I have to deal with AC mixed with fuel smell or those terrible air freshners. Many times I have pleaded with Uber drivers to put off the AC and take the glasses down lest I vomit my intestines. Strangely it doesn't happen when I am driving. Only when I am a passenger. There is a drug that was recommended for me, but I can't remember the name now.

What works for me is not to take any meal before a road trip. I don't eat in transit too. I will take water only.

I dread long road trips.
works for most people . 💯

My own is severe headache and running stomach when am travelling to long distant place. Whenever I want to travel, I will make sure that I eat solid food like fufu and take paracetamol and tetracycline. I will make sure that during the travel am not hungry. If I ever get hungry I will have headache immediately and no amount of drug can stop that unless I sleep in the night.

The first one is called Motion sickness
It occurs when your brain can't make sense of information sent from your eyes, ears and body. Lots of motion — in a car, airplane, boat, or even an amusement park ride — can make you feel queasy, clammy or sick to your stomach. Some people vomit. Being carsick, seasick or airsick is motion sickness.

I usually chew gum to evade that motion sickness and it stops it, but the problem is that I usually bite my tongue or mouth anytime I chew gum that's why I hate it.

I hate long distance travelling.
Re: Is There Anyone Who Can Relate To Having These Conditions? by Emaprince: 10:08pm On Sep 01, 2023
Omo, I suffered motion sickness silently as a kid. Especially during a long journey like traveling for Xmas.

I never complained to anyone, but I would be feeling nauseous and toughing it through, keeping to myself while my siblings gist and laugh in the ride. I can't tell when it left me. It just vanished and I can't remember the last time I felt that way while traveling.

I naturally hate long distance ride that will take over an hour. Anything more than 40mins is a headache for me...cos till now, I end up with a hammering headache and sickness after a long distance travel.

Bitter kola has also worked for me. The only thing that I've ingested for it that has worked yet, in fact. But closing my eyes and keeping them shut once I sense it's about to start remains the most effective approach for me yet.

I can relate to nose bleeding....while growing up, I bled a lot through the nose. It could be triggered by cold weather, hitting me on any part of my body. At times, it doesn't really have to be caused by the mentioned, it just comes anytime
