Ba only Andrew Uwe and Rashidi Yekini I get correct o. I sabi all the names but couldn't matthe name with the faces as per say na Binatone black and white I take use watch them. But Andrew Uwe tall o, what really happened to him, he fizzled out. Also Ben Iroha and Ogunlana no dey the picture?
Andrew Uwe a very tall player and handsome dude.

He was undergraduate student of University of Ife now OAU and still played the game in local league. He was a strong player of Nigeria league revolutionaries Leventis United that won FA cup as division three club.

He captained Nigeria U20 team to Moscow 85.Uwe was a product of Jossy Lad in local scenes and Paul wonder boy Halmiton in National Team and captained Super eagles under Paul Halmiton.

He was member of Nigeria Seoul Olympic team and Marco 88 where he fitted in for Stephen Keshi cuz Keshi was in and out of the tournament due reluctance of Anderlecht to release him fully.Keshi played just two matches and both against Cameroon in group stage and final.

Andrew Uwe fizzled out after Algier 90 due to Uche Okechucwu rise and returned of Stephen Keshi. Also Westerhoff didn’t rate him cuz Ajibade Babalade and Isaac Semitoje are real covers despite playing in Nigeria league.

Andrew Uwe was a charismatic captain just like Stephen Keshi and always seen as Keshi successor but failed to make it in Europe.

Yes Ben Iroha and Ayo Ogunlana are squad players just like Toyin Ayinla, they are always on bench in Algier 90.

Ayo Ogunlana of Rancher Bees remained the best Nigeria free kicks taker,he does it like taking penalties.

Charles' obsession with Nwakali-related topics is far greater than Americans' obsession with "American football"

This is how he jumps in, running with cutlass of "bring him down" in his hands.

Never seen an obsession like it. 🀣🀣

Is anyone noticing it, but there's an increase in egocentric football managers lately. Too defiant and stubborn. They rather die than change an already detrimental situo esp if that change will help them in the long run.

Talented left-back Patrick Dorgu is on the radar of Denmark national team head coach, Kasper Hjulmand following his breakthrough into the first team of Italian Serie A club Lecce.

Dorgu has played in all the matches contested by the Lecce in the new season- eight in total in league and cup.

Kasper Hjulmand praised Dorgu during his press conference on Tuesday, saying the Lecce defender is a very, very exciting left-back and he's being monitored by Denmark's coaching staff.

Eligible for Nigeria through his father, Dorgu became provisionally cap-tied to Denmark after making his competitive debut for their youth team in a European U19 Championship qualifier against Georgia in September 2022.

The 18-year-old was a key member of the Lecce squad that won the Primavera League in 2022-2023, scoring four goals in thirty three appearances in the regular season, before going the distance against Fiorentina in the playoffs final.

Denmark U21 coach Steffen HΓΈjer revealed that Dorgu has some qualities that could make him relevant for the senior national team.

"He has clear qualities, and then there is a lot of work that needs to be done in relation to both being part of the U21, but also eventually making the national team," HΓΈjer said to bold.dk.

"My task is to make the best possible preparation for the A national team, so we talk about all players and their opportunity to come up."

Dorgu has been selected in Demark squad for their U21 Euro qualifier against Czech Republic on October 17.

Boss man I hail your historical inputs cool

Actually the bold isn't totally correct. Had we beaten Tunisia we would still have needed to face Tunisia for the second WC spot that year. Like you I also assumed the bold was true until I read up on it.

He had a hybrid look of Diego Maradona and Ruud Guillit.

When ever he was on our starting line up we were almost sure to win. "Okparaji go play? Ah we go win be that" grin

Throwback goal from Samuel sochukwuma Okwaraji (popularly pronounced as "Okparaji"wink grin. He was a Fans' Favorite, one of the most loved players in the team then.
An assist from another legend, Rasheedi Yekini, saw us go into an early lead with a thunderous strike from "Okparaji" against Cameroon. Such was what Okparaji was capable of. It was a second group B game of the Maroc '88 AFCON. Game ended 1:1.

One year later, during a 1990 World Cup qualifying game, against Angola he slumped on the grasses of the national stadium, Surulere, Lagos and was confirmed dead next morning. We won that game 1:0 but lost the final group game 1:0 to Cameroon away in Yaounde, without Okparaji, in a game that we needed a draw to qualify for Italia '90 World Cup

Many believed that if Okparaji had played that last game we couldn't have lost.

We lost a pure gem with his death which was totally avoidable. He was an enigma!!! What baffles also was how well educated he was, playing professionally in Europe and still had degrees!!! He had an MSc in law at just 25 and was a professional football player. Continue to RIP our hero!!

We should reach out to the Noah guy now, let him reject us e beta pass make we no try. As dem tell me, "it is better to try and fail, than to fail to try".
