Itsrm: Yes, intra-day high was 981. Opened at 758. High of 981. Closed at 848. There's no credible reason to devalue atm. Buhari held it at 360 for years. After he devalued to 460, he maintained that until he returned to Daura. And we're talking about Buhari that grappled with two recessions. Tinubu has devalued from 460 to 750 to 850 in less than six months. As regards gasoline price; he's unlikely to greenlight another hike, so more subsidy it is. But the likes of Customs and International Airlines may adjust their rates accordingly. -Lord |

Tinubu will spend about $1.2 billion on palliatives in less than a year Abeg, this money no reach to subsidize the fuel? If you voted Tinubu here, please just come forward and apologise to me. It would go a long way in healing my emotional wounds right now. 7 Likes |

BlueRayDick: The thing is just somehow. Make dem keep that subsidy back abeg. Afterall, the savings did not stop NASS from chopping 100 million each Apple na 250 naira for one.. Apple....APPLE.. Tinubu said he will continue from where Buhari stopped.. But Buhari didn't do all these ones naa. 5 Likes |

Segedinho: It is. According to what I'm reading here, the official market close at 980 and black market at 1070. It means alot of transaction is moving to the official market, the more liquidity move to the official market, the best. Let the naira find its value against the dollar. Anybody that needs the dollar should be able to pay the true value for it. Unless you want the govt to continue from where Buhari stop and keep using scarce resource and our foreign reserve to defend the naira that's only available to some set of people. My stance hasn't changed. 1 Like |
