Nigeria no dey show for here

The answer to your question is that those ferriaris sold in vi are grey market or worse with zero support and dodgy parts.

Baba the world is not all black and white ; u should know this .

There’s a black market for almost everything luxury and exclusive . All Ferrari will show u on their website is their official position as a legal entity ; people driving Ferrari on park view , eko Atlantic , lekki , etc probably won’t appear on Ferarri owners on the official website .

I was also wondering if those rules applies to Africa?

cheesy

There are even Africans who act as middle men /mule abroad , buy those exclusive/luxury items on behalf of their chairmo in naija and send it down here either by the books or by crook .

A super car is a high maintenance luxury item. It is not a wrist watch or a phone or a pair of shoes.

https://www.continentalautosports.com/service/service-tips/what-type-of-fuel-used-in-ferrari/

Does any of us know what high octane premium fuel is and where we can get it locally? Answer we can't.

Using regular, low-octane gasoline in a Ferrari will lead to pre-ignition issues, which will typically manifest in the form of engine knock. This may seem benign, but each pre-ignition sends an unexpected shockwave through the vehicle’s engine, which can cause significant damage over time. As such, it’s important to follow the fuel guidelines in your car’s owner’s manual. Not doing so will almost certainly guarantee that you’ll need to visit a Ferrari service center!

We had issues with too much ethanol blended in fuel towards the end of Buharis admin. It affected regular cars. So unless you are telling me that all these high net worth ferrari owners are bringing in their own petrol, I am not sure how this will work.

Even using mundane items with manufacturer support is dicey in Nigeria - how much more for high maintenance items?

If you are talking about range rovers those actual have local support. Not sure how much it costs now but if I recall guys were paying coscharis as much as 100 to 400k in 2013 for servicing.

Usually, the knock sensors will retard timing leading to reduced engine performance and that's it. The effect is not so bad.

I have two vehicles that require premium fuel and I've been puting our 87(maybe lower) in both.

Secondly, you can compensate by using octane boosters. Anyone that can afford a Ferrari can import cartons of octane boosters.

4 years - 2015 to 2019

because nigeria is a third world country, people regularly represent fake or imitation items as the real deal. i am sure you also know of all those 'upgraded' lexus suvs where they slap a modified body of a 2019 Lexus on the frame of a 2014 lexus

also, you should take any boastful pronunciations on social media with a handful of salt .

read up on mtv cribs - it turns out 90% of the time - the house the star was posing in was not his own. the car being posed in is leased by the company. all this is an image the record company wants to sell.

this is an article from 2016 on another of dinos so called vintage cars

https://www.nairaland.com/3393092/dino-melayes-car-discovered-fake#49985004

He was in house of reps before going to Senate. Dino is a billionaire, there's no way he can't afford a $100k car.

Any Nigerian senator can afford a Ferrari. Their salaries alone for a 4 year tenure runs into billions. And for someone to become a senator, the person must be wealthy already. And we haven't even talked of the money the person will loot oh.

Investors not keen on funding northern Nigerian startups, new study reveal.
https://techcabal.com/2023/10/26/investors-not-keen-on-funding-northern-nigerian-startups-new-study-reveals/

Also from the report, *According to an executive at Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), the biggest challenges facing the tech ecosystem in the north are closely tied to the availability of digital talent and funding."

Now that I think of it, I rarely ever stumble on techies from and resident in the north on social media. While Amoto insists the South underrates and stereotypes the North, evidence show it's just what it is.

Interesting also that the Tech Cabal writer for this article is a Northern female.

The article and most articles don't specify. It's the geopolitical north as a we know it: NE, NW, and MB.

But I do know Jos and Kaduna (capital) try a little to swim against the tide tech-talent-wise, but they almost immediately relocate to Lagos and Abuja so the article is right regardless.

More imported savagery. Nigerian rapist Abiola Tijani

January 2023 - Arrived on a student visa

July 2023 - brutally rapes a young woman who was walking home in Sheffield

November 2023 - sentenced to 8 years 3 months, with an extended licence of 4 years

Mitigation - “he has little in the way of life experience, and his approach to this young woman - I would submit - shows that”

NO MENTION OF DEPORTATION

If I am correct sex offenders have a hard time - very hard time in prison. No way about it, this dude is getting real karma for all the women he has raped in the past.

This skinny guy is going to hear it. The wardens may even casually set him up as well.

I have seen this article before and have discussed it with an acquaintance and something is being done about the challenges facing the startup ecosystem in the North especially the funding part, you yourself highlighted the challenges facing those who don't kiss up to VCs in the industry and how good ideas don't get funding. In Kogi we have Kogi Enterprise Development Agency though it's a small step but the plan is there to support startup, I know the efforts of el-Rufai, Sokoto State Govt, Kano, Gombe and even Nasarawa. Recently, Jaiz Bank rolled out a product to support startup business which I believe is geared towards the Northern region to help bridge the funding gap.

"I know the efforts you've put in and the results of some of those efforts, but they're not enough to scale. I think it's high time you leverage on your network and reach out to business leaders in the Gulf region and those in North Africa for the needed funding."
This was what I wrote to my acquaintance regarding the Tech Cabal article some weeks ago

Outside of Lagos, anywhere else in Nigeria it will more likely be local govt officials putting their wards in the available slots. And that is where the problem starts.

The people put in are unlikely to be that smart to begin with or that focused, or hungry, but they are the ambassadors of their region and the first people any venture capitalist will meet. So from the get go they are already reducing the perception of technical competence

Then add to that the celebrated communalism that northerner practice. I will help my guy and put him in place. It does not matter if he does not have the skills. That is how we grow.

That is how we get people like adamu garba whose team were so lazy they copy pasted tos for his failed app.
