You didn't need to add that Baze University was punished because Datti was LP vice presidential candidate. To be honest at that point I too looked at you as partisan.

Irrespective of Datti being LP VP... His school did wrong and should be punished.

EFCC was not going after anyone that didn't steal...and in few instances they did they got punished for it....so whether you are an enemy of the president if you steal you get picked for it. Simple

Politicians get away with impunity because they know citizens like you will find excuses for them.
If you are sure you are making sense here, point out any injustice or falsehood in my comment.

Its not as if you had much of a choice grin , condemning the punishment would have kept you in bad light, and your submission woud have being a stillbirth,

The law has two hands, one to scale and one carries the sword meaning the law can't catch everybody at a time, before Datti some were punished and after Datti others will still face sanction .. call it selective but Life is turn by turn.

I saw your initial post mentioning some schools in the East, if the NBA had gone against those schools knuckleheads like yourself would still have shouted tribalism. only a foolish man will think he can satisfy humans
If you are a tribalist, I am different. I don't condemn justice for any tribe and I don't support injustice against any tribe. Mention any falsehood or injustice in my comment.

Many students after passing their
WAEC, have crossed the border to
neighboring Benin Republic and come
back 2½ to 3 years later with degrees.

I know a family whose daughter got
her WAEC in June 2018, got admitted
into a degree program in Cotonou and graduated by 1st quarter 2021, did her
NYSC 2021/ 22❗️❗️❗️

Her own mates who got admitted into
private Nigerian universities only graduated
last year and are currently serving.

Imagine❗️❗️❗️😕😕😕😕

These nigerian system is just sickening. Law degree in UK takes less than 3yrs. These people brought education to us but we want to do 5yrs as oversabi country. What are they teaching that is better than what they teach abroad if not complexity and corruption. Visiting law school website and I can smell corruption from there. No good information that can guide you right but from here you get every detail you need from schools abroad.

5yrs of the course is nothing but repetition I can bet.

Actually, it takes more than three years to become a solicitor or barrister in the UK? cool

How long does it take to become a lawyer?
If you study full time, it will take about five or six years to qualify as a solicitor. This includes a three-year law degree, the SQE assessments and two-years of qualifying legal work experience. Studying a non-law subject for your degree means you'll need to factor in the time it takes to study for a law conversion course and/or an SQE preparation course, both of which can extend the training period.

Becoming a fully-fledged barrister takes five years - including three years for your law degree, one year for a Bar course and a one-year pupillage in chambers. Again, add an extra year for a law conversion course if your degree wasn't in law.

Meanwhile, if you're studying to become a lawyer via the CILEx CPQ each stage will take between 18 months and two years - although students can progress at whatever speed suits them - meaning a student could qualify as a CILEX Lawyer in five to six years.

Then learn not to cross yourself, you commend the sanction but believe its a witchhunt should that be a priority if you are objective

Is datti the 1st to be sanction by NBA, were the previous ones selective, care to know

You seem not to understand the
Nigerian education system, which is
the British system.

You don't jump from secondary school
and start the main degree programs.
That is basically jumping from WAEC to
200-Level, which some of these neighboring
countries are offering Nigerians.

After leaving secondary school, you must
do A-Levels, ND, Preliminary, or 100-Level.

Once you've completed any of the above,
then you commence the degree program
proper, which is the 200-Level.

After 100-Level, the shortest university
course is 3 years, while the longest of
5 years are medical courses & Architecture ( with Masters).

It is you that need to understand, that Nigeria runs a similar educational system with the UK does not mean both system must be or are homogenous.

Nigeria practice democracy just as USA practice democracy but is it fully the same.

Every country has its own standards and modifications, this is Nigeria don't know why you keep emphasising on UK, or do you still live in the colonial era.

The punishment is well-deserved if the school is actually guilty of the stated offense.

But what I don't like is selective justice. More terrible things happen in other schools but the authority looks away because the owners of the schools are not in the opposition parties. Isn't JAMB aware of the system in the Base University? Didn't those who did Law for only 4 years in the school go to law schools? If it is not selective justice, let the law schools be punished for careless admission of those students.

Many universities that lack lab equipment and standard workshops get accreditation for science and engineering courses. Students in those schools do only theories in courses that are practical intensive. Some years ago, three people who claimed to be graduates of a public university in Enugu State were exposed in NYSC camps because they could not speak simple English. Two of them "graduated" in Engineering and one "graduated" in Geography. Their inability to speak simple English drew attention to them and further findings show that they were not even qualified to be rated as secondary school graduates. Among the three so-called graduates, one who graduated in Electrical Engineering and was sent to a nursery and primary school as his PPA was rejected by the school because he could not read and write. Another one could not mention three states and capitals in Nigeria, and she didn't pass English subjects in WAEC. So, how did JAMB give her admission? The NYSC authority directed for the certificates of those guys to be withdrawn. The case ended just like that. The school was not probed on how those three people were able to graduate and go for NYSC. Till this moment, the university has never been denied accreditation for Engineering and Geography as punishment. Use Google to check this if you think I am making things up. https://dailypost.ng/2012/10/15/nysc-rejects-illiterate-graduates-esut/
https://www.informationng.com/2012/10/questionable-degrees-nysc-rejects-three-illiterate-graduates-of-esut.html

What is done to Base University now is justice and I am sincerely not against justice. But would the justice have happened if Datti is not in LP? This is like the EFCC that never jails any friend of the government in power. This is the same country where a forged certificate is used to be a president and being a drug lord is not an offense for a president.

ADDED
I make it clear here that I am not against the punishment given to Base University. But fools who hate balanced judgement are making noise as if any part of my comment is against the ban on the university. If madness doesn't run in your lineages, show me where I said the ban is wrong. I even started by saying the ban is well-deserved.

Baze University runs a trimester. You go to school and have a break of two weeks in between each semester. All students there complete the full law program just like in other schools.

If you did direct entry, you can finish law in Baze university in about 3 years. I know because I got in by 2015 and graduated 2018 and finished from law school 2021.

I waited because they had backlog in 2018, so I went for nysc then I entered law school in 2019 and there was COVID.

On the issue, the backlog has always been there abeg. Baze has been running law program even before I got in around 2015.

I don't know how it got this bad sha particularly since the outgoing VC of Baze university, Prof Tahir Mahman is a former DG of Nigerian law school. https://bazeuniversity.edu.ng/news/baze-university-organizes-farewell-ceremony-for-former-vc,-now-appointed-as-minister-of-education

The outgoing VC has been appointed Minister of Education in this regime and the school he left has been given a 5-year period to fix issues related to quota.

Still trying to understand how this makes sense.
