Hello good afternoon all

Please does anyone know whether I'll require a transit visa if my flight will make a layover at Doha. Flight is Qatar Air.

Hi. Good afternoon everyone.

I want to apply for a visitor’s visa but I was told biometrics and medicals aren’t required. How true is this please?

@Alphalady,Please keep guided. You have to go for Biometric for a Tourist/Visitors Visa. You do not required Medicals. Be careful of fraudulent agents ooo.

Ask more question here before you proceed, because we have a lot of gurus like @giselle,@cashmadam and others.

It depends on the refund policy of the school.
Try and share the name of the school let's see if we can assist.

Avoid Private-for-profit Universities.

The name is Roehampton University. Please help her ooo if you can, the deposit is 2500 pounds

Hey !

A knife gives mark to your hand and you trow the knife away 😊 the knife has already done the bad ..(Yoruba Adage)

Tell your cousin to not panick she will get her passport back . Her passport is the property of Nigeria government not the UK embassy property.

Don't be scared. She can enter the US ,Canada , Australia and some Schengen countries . UK government are not quick to tarnish young applicant's image like that because she is not an international criminal. They can deduce that she gave the job to a bad agent who eventually ruined her visa chances .

That is why some country like the USA will say ..BEWARE OF AGENT ! So she is good to apply to other countries . Don't listen to negative vibes .

For her deposit ..if the money is a large sum then i think the school is playing ....employ the service of a good law firm to retrieve your deposit .. The only thing that will make the school to withhold her deposit is if she paid with counterfeit check or a bad credit card .

Ask the agent who did it ...Did you pay the deposit via bank transfer ? Did you pay cash to the agent ? If you did not pay the tuition deposit via illegal means then they do not have the right to seize it .

Tell your cousin to go through legal avenues next time . I am not supporting the use of illegal or counterfeit documentation but the did is done .

There is God ...don't give up .

Thanks God bless you. She has learnt and will show her this message for encouragement

Please I need assistance on how I can use courier service for passport collection. I did not opt for it during biometrics. Who knows the process to take
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Exbb: 5:21pm On Nov 29, 2023
Good Evening Everyone,
Please I need help your help. I want to apply for a UK visit visa. My friend that is inviting me is a UK citizen and can afford to sponsor my trip, but my concern here is, I graduated this year, I am yet to serve. I got a job that pays me 190k after removing 10% withholding tax. It is temporary job as my role is stated as temporary.

When applying for my visa to the UK which person account statement should I provide? Do i need a tax clearance certificate because I don't have anything like that even though the organisation is deducting 10% from my salary as withholding tax. Saying that my friend is inviting me and can afford it with his bank statement is it enough proof?. What approach can I take so that I don't get a visa denial. I want to only stay for 1 month in the UK and I am looking forward to doing my NYSC next year too. Lastly do I need a letter from my friend stating his family is inviting me?

Hello guys.
Plz I need advise.
My wife got a COS for a health care job in July.
Our family of 6 did biometrics on Sept 18th in Ikeja.
On the 20th of September she recieved a mail from UKVI saying that her application cannot proceed until she provides evidence that she had met the English requirements and giving her 10 working days to do so

Meanwhile she had uploaded a comparability letter from UK ENIC (Formerly ECCTIS) in addition to a letter of English Proficiency from National Open University and to which an acknowledgement mail was recieved from UKVI.

There were no further correspondences up until the 10th of November when she got a refusal letter. Meanwhile the refusal letter was dated 18th October and giving her 28days to file for an administrative review.
The following week she reached out to ECCTIS who sent all the necessary English language document. Even went a step further to write IELTS and exceeded the required band score.

My Questions are as Follows:
(1) Is she time-barred since the refusal letter was dated 18th October and she had 28 to file for a review.

(2) Will it be a great idea to seek an Immigration lawyer to file for the review.

(3) What are the chances of a positive outcome?

So sorry for the lengthy post but we are seeking for solutions as a lot of time and effort has gone into this endeavour.

Thanks so much

Your concerns are baseless and misplaced.

1 you do not own the company you work in so you have no business showing tax clearance certificate.

2. You are saying you want to stay only one month "only" in the UK. Why not Google the cheapest hotel in UK and see how much you will spend per day in such a hotel before concluding.

3. You are not even concerned about the fact that your salary can't afford a plane ticket out of Nigeria. Neither are you concerned about the fact that your employment letter has temporary written on it.

Whether your friend can afford it or the fact that he is a citizen does not change the fact that you are a potential stowaway and it is only your circumstance here and only that, that will be used to decide the fate of your application.

It will take a miracle for a visa officer to agree for you

Thank you so much for your response,
I am not staying in a hotel. I am staying in their family house.
I also want to state that I have travelled to Tanzania this year.
My job is like a consultancy job.
They keep renewing my contract. It is actually a UK NGO here in Nigeria.
I don't know if this information is enough, because my friend will pay for my flight fees.

Please what do you have problem with it, so I can address it.
I have my salary account and I have not touched a single money inside it because my siblings and others send me money for upkeep.
I have over a million in my account aside other investments in shares and treasury bills. So I want to know please, what you mean that my salary can't afford an airfare

Your circumstance is what I have a problem with.

Before a visa officer will close eye and give visa they must weigh the fact that what you are leaving behind to go and flex in the UK is significant enough to warrant you to come back.

It has nothing to do with your friend. Whether she can afford your trip is nobody's business.

They want to see if you yourself can afford the trip if you were to go on your own as a man without assistance. And from that 190k Sef minus the deductions I don't see how that will fly.

Whether you have property, children, a wife.

Your red flags

Just finished nysc
Has temporary employment letter
Barely makes enough
Intends to stay with someone who immigration laws does not apply to.
Intends to use said person to foot his trip.
Probably intends to get married to said person and never return on arrival grin

Because of my job I want to only stay for one week but I want a one month Visa, so within that one month I can choose any of the week to travel.
The job I do as an entry level, I feel the pay is okay for my level.
My friend was in Nigeria in 2022 and I have our pictures. He has been the one saying I should try before I start my M.sc application because my parents are saying I must get an M.SC or MBA before marriage.

I have not done my NYSC, I want to start my NYSC next year.
My job is a contract, before it was 3month and then renewed to One year now and the chances of renewing it is high because the work is tedious and more hands are needed for my department.
