Hello House! I’m interested in applying for a visit visa to the UK. I’m fortunate to have a sibling who is ready to sponsor my entire trip, and I plan to stay for a duration of 2 weeks.

I’m curious to know if I need to provide my bank account details as part of the application process. If so, what should be the minimum balance in my account?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on this matter. Thank you!

. Certainly, you'll be required to submit your account statement. The required amount depends on factors like your earnings, savings, etc., considering you have a sponsor. You don't need an excessive amount, but having a reasonable sum is advisable.

Hello,

I just got the horrible news that my mom's UK visitor visa have been refused, and it looks like it is accompanied by a possible 10 years ban.
I live in the UK since 2020, I am Tunisian and German and my mom is Tunisian national.
It has been conviened that she will be sponsored by her husband, living with her in Tunisia. She provided her bank statements showing money that her husband has sent her. She have also attached bank statement of her husband proving the transaction and the sufficient funds as well as a letter from him as a sponsor. The application seemed strong as she provided multiple documents such as : birth certificate of all her kids, their attendance to school in Tunisia, proof of owning à house etc.
In the attached refusal letter, they state that the bank statement was a false document, which is a very serious accusation. It goes without saying that these statements came from her and her husband's bank, with the official stamp.
What caught our attention is the first paragraph outlining the reason. They state : "In support of your application you have provided a statement purportedly issued by BIAT Bank, with an account number ending XXXX which is in your name and is dated 31/10/23. Checks conducted by this office, contained in a DER and held on file, have concluded to a high degree of certainty that this document is not genuine." The issue here, is that XXXX is not her number account, but her husband's !!!! So what happened here? Did they mismatched both bank statement (her husband is also at the same bank) It is clear that her bank statements that are under her name have the number account YYYY and not XXXX.
This looks like a real ERROR from the end of the home office. Above all this, no way of appeal. Is it also an effective 10 years ban ?

These are serious allegations and could have really bad consequences. Can anyone advise us on what to do ?

Thanks a lot for taking the time.

Probably a mismatch. The ECOs are not immuned to mistakes, they make quite a number of mistakes due to work pressure or personal issues.

Due to the consequence of this particular refusal bordering on alleged submission of "false document" you have to take this seriously.

Get the bank to write a letter authenticating both bank statements, with emphasis on the owners of each and and also providing clear paths of communication for verification.

Due to the consequence of this rejection, kindly get an immigration lawyer to review the refusal letter and write a PAP based on the areas of disagreement. The letter from the bank will play a role here.

PAP (Pre-Action Protocol) is a precursor to a full Judicial Review (JR) of the decision. Home Office decisions are not a final nail on the coffin as parties can still seek the help of the courts.

This should not be a problem to you as stated you are resident in the UK.

Hello

You mentioned the applicant submitted her husbands bank statement to show source of funds and sponsorship

2. When checked UKVI discovered her husband’s bank statement was falsified

The problem isn’t what account was checked, it is that an alleged falsified document was submitted in her application and therefore placed on a 10year ban

Have you confirmed the authenticity of the bank statement in question?

Cheers

Hello dduchess90,

About your second point, it looks like they meant my mom's document was falsified. At the same time, they refer to her account by stating the number of her husband's account. It is very disturbing.

Both bank statements (her's and her husband's) were printed and stamped from the bank. They are 100% genuine.

Thank you for your help.

Milito, Thanks a lot for your response.
Can you confirm that a bank could write such a letter ? My mom called her agency and they claimed that the highest proof is the bank statement with the stamp (which have been provided). Moreover, they don't usually do such letters.
We will still try again with them.
Do you have any idea of the fees for such lawyer and procedure ?

Thanks à lot,

Haifa

Please I need the link for TB test booking in Nigeria. Can I book at IOM Benin city?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by JohnZak: 4:07pm On Dec 05, 2023
You can ask the bank to write an account verification letter for your mum and dad. This is a common service that a lot of banks provide to their clients. I do not know wheat you mean by your mum called her agency but this document is provided directly by a bank and no one else. Also, like someone said earlier, a PAP is your best bet at this point if you are sure that UKVI made an error in their assessment of the bank documents.

I didn't think their bank balance could be the problem. They have no less than £10,000 between them. Do you suggest this balance was not enough?

To give you more heads up, we presented our financial document as well as their bank statement to strengthen the application.

But I see they have concerns for
1. proposed spend amount: is there an acceptable amount they are expected to spend abroad vis a vis their spend in Nigeria?

2. unexplained transactions: regrettably, I didn't realise that I needed to explain the ins and outs involving my Dad's account.

3. sponsorship: can it make a difference if we sponsor them? If yes
3a. what spend limit should we fill for them
3b. what bank balance is acceptable as proof

4. proof of wedding: this was a terrible oversight and I regret it to this day.

Further inquiries
5. Can we still include their bank statement if we are now sponsoring

6. What information do we need to include in the Cover Letter to address the concerns raised.

PS: their application form was filled by me and was true and correct to the best of my knowledge. If you like, I can share.
Hello guys, please a brother needs your kind suggestion. I do not want to make another mistake or risk another refusal. I humbly solicit your suggestions. For reference, also see this post: https://www.nairaland.com/6969367/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/557#127286996
