I disagree with the bold; tribalism was not this rife in the first republic. The rivalry/tension bwtween Awo and Azikiwe was more of two highly educated men who had different perspective on nation building/national politics.

There was nothing like weaponized tribalism until the first coup, the counter coup, 1966 progrom and the Civil war that followed. Try and trace Nigeria's history prior to the aforementioned period and u will discover most of the tribalism u have today stemmed from the first coup and matters arising therefrom.

It was. Awolowo played the tribal card to truncate Azikwe's inroad into Western politics. That was a rallying cry against Azikwe.

Zik, in anger, rallied his kinsmen in the Eastern region to oust the incumbent Prof. Ita (an Ibibio occupying the seat).

The tension from that fallout carried on into the Civil War, coupled with increased ante-war prejudice, even though the whole of the Eastern region, including the Akwa-Cross areas and Ijaw areas, suffered destruction too.

The vehement opposition of the later two areas to any inclusion on any present-day Biafran map dates back to pre-Civil War politicking fallouts.

Tribalism was weaponised then too. This is a part of history which makes many people in these areas uncomfortable so they completely ignore it.

As long as there are no systems to demand accountability and dispense justice, if you like divide Nigeria to 774 countries, Nothing changes.

Who will carry out the first suggestion if not military government ?
Nigerian have pass through it no difference those people will always come back

Why did you suggest the second option,

I always make reference to this given the fact that some country that areligiuos are doing well but there are religious country doing well e.g Saudi Arabia, Qatari. etc. The problem is just the mindset of the citizen of this country
It always amuses me when people want to point to religious countries doing well, it's always the Muslim nations that are practicing Monarchy. Do you want Nigeria to adapt monarchy? Show us the the ones without Monarchy doing well.

They should have focused first on rebuilding the economy and stopping inflation and naira devaluation before stealing.

By the time all these get done, its almost time for another election where you will need to go meet the creditors again and if you have not paid outstanding debts, you are playing with fire

Sim and Wike are already finding out less than 5months into tenure

Apuu!

Rubbish!

Beauty is subjective but you will be insane to think Abuja come close to any South African 🇿🇦 city in beauty talk more Cape Town which rival any city in this world.

I am always even suspicious of those Arab countries "doing well" as an example for Nigeria

Besides the fact that the they have almost 10 times our resources for about one-tenth of our population

Which of the below do we want

Do we want Monarchy, where A son like MBS inherit the throne
Where there is a caste system and some are designated slaves
Where women cannot drive or even go outside on errands without a man following them
Where political opponents like Jamal Kashoggi can be killed and melted in acid

Pick anyone of the above that you want us to implement in Nigeria

Cape Town and Jo’burg are miles ahead of any Nigerian city.
I pray Lagos and Abuja residents get the opportunity to visit both grin

Even the much maligned Nairobi with the biggest slum in Africa looks better than Lagos.

1) All previous political office holders banned for life from further participation in politics. All previous Presidents, VPs, Senate Presidents, Speakers, Governors and Deputy-Governors to receive default life sentences in jail. All other office holders up to ward councillor level to receive default jail terms ranging from 5-50 years depending on how egregious their crimes are. The innocent ones are to be assumed to be guilty by association and to receive a minimum 5-year term.

I told you. grin

There is also mansions, hotels blue swimming 🏊‍♀️ pools, and rocks in my village but it does make it comparable to lagos or Abuja. There are levels to things.

Cape Town is in the first 5 of the most beautiful cities in the world in any travel blog. Abuja or anything Nigeria does not come close. Stop playing.

You just want to stay ignorant, which is okay.

The tweet showed two pictures and classified SA as more beautiful than Nigeria

Until you can show me any place in Warri and Abuja that is more beautiful than those two pictures, you are expanding the depth of your ignorance.

If you like, dig shiit from Capetown, just show us a place in Abuja or your glorious Warri that looks like this. I didn't say better oh...Just like this
