RVSG GOVERNMENT SET TO REBUILD THE ASSEMBLY COMPLEX

The Rivers State Government says the decision to demolish and rebuild the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex was due to the structural defects which arose mainly as a result of the recent explosion and fire incident which rendered the main building unfit for human use.

A statement issued by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information Mr Joseph Johnson said after the visit of the Governor to inspect the level of damage done to the building on the day of the fire incident, it became necessary to invite professionals to advice the government on the integrity of the building.

It would be recalled that on the night of the attack on the complex explosive dynamites were used to attack the complex which shook it to foundation. There were visible cracks on the walls afterwards, and the entire structure looked frail and unsafe for legislative business.

"After the assessment of the integrity of the complex, the experts warned the government that continuing to use the building in its present state would be disastrous", he said, noting that the government had tried all cost saving measures towards repair of the complex until it bowed to superior view of rebuilding the complex to a more befitting edifice.

In the interim, the Rivers State Government has provided an alternative venue for the House of Assembly to conduct their affairs pending the rebuilding of the complex.

What an audacious strike by Fubara which has seen Rivers FC take an early lead ....
Let's see how Wike rally his troops to stage a comeback in this intense battle of wits

Sim is dealing with Wike woto woto. I just pity those 27 legislators that defected because their political career may be over. Those who deceived them into defection should come and ask what happened in Akwa Ibom when Akpabio defected. The house members that defected with him all lost their sits and up till now they`ve not been able to make a come back. Let nairaland apc members who don`t know south south politics keep making noise. They keep making noise of federal might but the question is if it`s that easy for the president to rubbish a governor why couldn`t OBJ rubbish Tinubu, Obong Victor Attah nd recently why couldn`t Buhari and Akpabio rubbish Udom?

I have this funny fear about the Nigerian politcians in power. They can find an excuse to show you shege if you ever have any misunderstanding with them.

Most of them are dangerously dangerous, no fear of God.

If Tinubu could wait four years before teaching Ambode a lesson, I wonder what Wike think of himself..

This kind of politics is not good for the peace and stability of the state.. Tomorrow one oil company will move to Lagos due to its peaceful style of handling issues like this..

I really wonder what is wrong with our South South leaders..

Shame

Wike's boys seat have been declared vacant by the authentic speaker recognize by law. The next is for an order mandating INEC to conduct elections in those constituencies within 90 days

For Wike's boys, Politics have since ended for them abruptly. It's over for them and they know, reason they have long relocated to Wike's kitchen where they are being served okro and fresh fish soup at the moment

Just like in the game of chess, this is the only possible move. Either good or bad, we are yet to see.

I believe Wike would have also anticipated this move too. It now remains to see how good Wike actually is as a master strategist.

Exactly my explanation in the other post. The alternative building will most probably be in the government house or a place controlled by the Governor. It now remain how the 27 defected members will have access to the new place.

Wike thinks he is the only one that's mad. He fails to understand that there is time for everything on earth. Rivers state is not his property and will never be. He should enjoy his loots and leave when the ovation is loud. Even if he succeed in removing Fubara Sims, another person that will be installed will still have problem with him cos his level of greed is second to none.

The speaker has no right to deprive a Constituency of representatives

It has been discussed and settled since

They are all equally representative of the people
