To book one way on a visit visa?? CERTAINLY NO! In fact, they won't let you board from Nigeria. If by chance you just managed to board by LUCK(which I doubt can happen) you won't be allowed entry into Canada but deportation straightaway (God forbid).

Ethiopian airways still bothers and may refused those with return ticket to board to their final destination to Canada from Adisababa layover because it's a VISIT VISA, how much worse a one way ticket grin If at all Ethiopian airline will let you board from Adisababa to Canada by chance on a visit visa with your complete return ticket, they will tell you to call your family members on a video call and let that fellow show them his or her PR card or international passport with your own WIFI. Imagine you don't have Wi-Fi on your phone grin They showed travelers to Canada on a visit visa shege pro max even with their return tickets.

Besides, how would you explain to the border officers at the POE on why you booked a oneway ticket after you were able to convince the VO of your financial stability? Don't try it, please 🙏

The further devaluation of Naira made the cost of air ticket to skyrocket this much. Keep checking all the time for price tickets day, night and midnight. I pray you see a favourable ticket fee.

Shalom

On this , I just booked a return ticket on Ethiopian airlines last week, I’m hoping I won’t be shown the shege pro max . I’ve had a VV since August last year and plan to move this month. The flight was quite expensive sef , 2.9m.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by slimmsyyetty: 2:33pm On Feb 04
I believe everything should have been normalized by now as a lot of people boycotted their airline from Nigeria after travelers were raising their complaints with the way they were being treated enroute Adisababa to Canada towards the end of last year.

Were you invited? If yes, have a copy of your invitation letter with you, the contact of such person should be available in case they want to reach him/her on your case grin (like they did late last year. Can you imagine?). Have your phone connected to internet, also. If you are going as a tourist, hold your hotel booking along with you even if you are staying with someone else. You may cancel immediately you have passed POE. Let your work ID be on your phone to show you are working legitimately at home, let your debit card be with you. Be ready for them from any angle. NO GREE FOR ETHIOPIAN AIRLINE OO grin grin

Above all, I wish you a stress free journey and please, come back to share your experience at Adisababa to see if they have relaxed their tough rule on blacks when you finally land in Canada
Shalom

Please how do you open a return ticket?

The moment mama arrives in Canada, proceed to the airline counter at the arrivals and tell them you'd like to open the ticket. You can also contact them online. They'd leave it open and it's valid for 1 year. Whenever you wish to use it, you'd only be charged for an upgrade, which is a few dollars.

Good day everyone,

I have a question, please. If you have a parent who has traveled on a super visa before, did you need to buy a return ticket, or was a one-way ticket okay? I cannot book a return ticket for her length of stay. My mum will be traveling via KLM.

Thank you.

If she travelling on a super visa she can buy a one way ticket since you not sure her return date and that why it called super visa ...print what is a super visa from ircc and she carry alone too ..With a super visa, eligible parents and grandparents can visit family in Canada for 5 years at a time while visitor can only stay 6 months .and remember the costly insurance requirement..abeg no waste ur money ..buy one way ticket and say she comung back after 4 years it allowed!

Exactly my opinion, too. Students on study visa of 1 year travel with one way ticket without issues, how much more a super visa of 2 or more years for older adults... The least duration given at POE for a super visa 2 years and as high as 5 years, so do they expect a return ticket for someone coming in on a 5 year stay?

In fact, her health insurance is important at POE than return ticket. The mum can simply tell them she is on a super visa and would buy her return ticket when she is ready to leave but I doubt it she would even be asked because the status of her visa is on her passport already.

Older parents or grandparents can't seek asylum because they are also dependant on their family members that invited them. They can't even work with it so I believe they won't have issues at POE because of a return ticket. But with a visit visa even as a great great grand parent grin, you must have your return ticket within 6 months

But nonewisthanding, I respect people's choices.

My cousin wanted to invite me with my wife as a couple and is ready to give us a statement of account of $50k. Whereas in my personal account i have just 3m, to submit with application, my concern now is that will 3m naira enough for both of us, hope it won't be a red flag
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by slimmsyyetty: 7:17pm On Feb 04
Nobody here knows exactly when IRCC will make decision on your application but they sure have a time frame for processing time on their website.

Please, be mindful that your application days start counting from the day your biometric is linked to your application and not the day you submitted your application. You may raise a webform to request for an update on your application once your application has passed the processing time on their website for Nigeria applicants

Thanks for this info. I think sanyaolurilwan should stick to this advice for her mum's ticket. None of my relations had ever lived in Canada before, talk less of any of my parents visiting them on a super visa. We only visit on vacation and attend programmes. My earlier pieces of advice was strictly on a visit visa which I know so much about. I know less about super visa holders obtaining a one-way ticket, which is why I'd want you to take his advice. Regards.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Newmum0615: 9:11pm On Feb 04
Thank you all.

Eriokanmi:
In my humble opinion, by a return ticket for her. At times, difference in price of a one-way ticket and that of return isn't much. This is what you'd do. As soon as she arrives in Canada, open the return ticket. IIt's alid for one year. She can use it to return anytime she wants. All you need do anytime she's ready is update the ticket with the airline. With this, she'd also have an easy clearance at the POE
slimmsyyetty:
I believe you should be able to book a one-way ticket on a super visa if students could fly in with a one way ticket. Just orientate your mum coming in with that super visa on what to say at the POE if questioned...."THERE WAS NO RETURN TICKET FOR MY LENGTH OF STAY (MAYBE 2 YEARS) AS A SUPER VISA HOLDER WHEN I WAS SEARCHING FOR MY FLIGHT.

My little opinion

IN MY OWN OPINION....3m is far too low for both of you.

There are some things that needed to be cleared because it is not all about someone inviting you, especially if you are an active citizen and not a senior citizen..

Is your cousin sponsoring you and your spouse on a full time invitation, including return tickets (remember cost of return ticket is now well over 2m per passenger to Canada so it won't be less than 5m for both of you)? Now the VO might want to think why your cousin would want to spend such amounts just for ordinary invites on tickets alone, aside other costs, considering the family tree is now extended. It's now your account statement and that of your spouse that would weigh in to see how financially strong or buoyant you are in your home country. That's your financial ties

And how would your financial statement be of help? Your job!!! What do you do?? What does your spouse do? Did you apply for your leave at this same time for having want to go together? If you pass this stage strongly, you go to the next scrutinized stage...Family ties

Do you have children that would make you come back? How many are they? Whose care would they be while you are away? Would your account balance be sufficient to cover up their expenses back home while you are away with your spouse? Then you go to the next stage...Economy ties

Do you have investments, properties, active business, assets e.t.c. in your home country that proves your economic stability and sure return?

Travel history is a boosting factor too, especially US but I believe if 90% of your application docs meet the other eligibility requirements, then you may be considered

Now use your 3m accounts balance to judge all the questions above.

Shalom!!!

If you aren't going on a conference or graduation or wedding but just as a tourist or as ordinary invitee with no date to attend a special event, I will suggest you raise a webform at the end of February. The choice is still yours, though.

Hello guys,

Good day, I am new on this thread and have just created an IRCC account, I have a plan/target/believe of getting this Visitor Visa In the next Six(6) months and I will be needing lots of help and guidelines from everyone who can make out time to share, I will appreciate a lot. Having said that, I have virtually the whole documents required on ground and need to know if I should start-off immediately to apply, because I noticed a question of "Tell us more about what you'll do in Canada. Include dates. (required)" and this "When will you enter Canada? (required)" I practically didn't know how to approach it because there might be a particular format to it. So please, any guide towards the right direction will be appreciated.

Thanks.
