The off-Nairaland virtual social circle of this page is smaller than we think. From screenshots over the years and months, it seems most of us interact with intersecting Nigerian social commentary pages.

Iyen Na Nice, Ade Damola, Kelechi Deca, Adeoti, "Olubadan-in-Waiting", Mazi Abe...

Interesting.

That's if he decides to go back to Netherlands.

Read Russia have no extradition laws with Holland and since the crime happened in Holland, then he won't go to prison unless he decides to step foot there

The link I posted is from 2009. I guess APC was in house of rep back in 2009 before it was even formed pushing the 16bn lie
https://www.voanews.com/a/a-13-2008-02-12-voa36/404906.html

That's how in 2040 some new internet users will also come out and confidently post that events of 2023 never happened since they didn't witness it

Just like some GenZ claimed Abacha was a great leader and never stole

Fucking liar
Whether it was 16b or 2.6b, the fact is that it was misappropriated. A kind way of saying stolen. Either of 16b or 2 6b could have gone a long way in solving our power issues if well utilised.

I agree that Obidients are not necessarily LP supporters. The reason they support LP is because of Obi. If Obi leaves LP and joins another party (especially a non popular one) Obidients will withdraw their support for LP.

Personally, I feel pissed about the attitude of many LP members of parliament. I hate them. I doubt I would support them in any election. That is why I didn't counter Okupe's claim that LP was just an SPV. He is very correct.

This is an article from 2009 way before APC that the House was investigating Obasanjo for 16bn for power project led by the house committee

The 16bn power issue has been known in public domain sine early Yar Adua days from 2007

To be fair to Obj my understanding is that he ordered injection transformers which were abandoned in the ports and are now useless.

There have been different stories that came up
There was a version of the story that said that the money was paid upfront and a significant part of it was for consulting services which does not show in physical structures when the house committee visited the locations

There was a version that it's not 16bn it's 11bn

There was another version that a huge chunk was prepayments and the projects will be delivered in the future (after OBJ regime)

The defence we are seeing is quoting OBJ himself. I mean the words of the accused is now what we take. What did they expect him to say? Ask IBB about the gulf War windfall or Abacha about the loots, or Ganduje about the dollar in Babariga or Farouk Lawan about Otedollar gate he will tell you something that won't implicate him

I am sure in some years some version will come that OBJ used his personal money to run the project and Nigeria actually owes him

They use it to mop up the scarce dollar available.

And at exorbitant rates. Read somewhere that there's a lot of swing in the rates as soon as FAAC is disbursed

No questions asked of them cos people are largely focused on the FG

And let’s not take it for granted; people are quiet, they are quiet for a reason because people have been talking to them.

We have been talking to them, we have been trying to tell them things will be okay and they keep on believing.

I pray to Almighty Allah that they will not one day wake up and say we no longer believe in you, because that would be the biggest problem because we can’t quieten these people as traditional, spiritual leaders and diplomats forever.

We have reached that level, people are very agitated, people are hungry, they are angry, but they still believe there are people who can talk to them, they believe in some of their governors, some other traditional rulers, and some of their religious leaders.

“Fortunately, some of us double as traditional and religious leaders.

“So, we have this onerous task of reaching out to everybody, calming them down, and assuring them things will be okay, and they should continue to pray and pray and still do something good because prayer without work will not bring anything.”

Abubakar also expressed concern about the millions of unemployed youths, noting that it poses serious danger to the country.

“We must find jobs for our teeming youths that are sitting idle and I have said it so many times, we sit on a keg of gunpowder, having teeming youths millions of them, without jobs, without food, we are looking for trouble,” he added.

Sultan of Sokoto subtly telling Tinubu that they ( Traditional rulers ) are the ones holding the leash on the masses preventing total breakdown of law & order over the current hardship imposed by Tinubu's administration .
