I think it wasn't an outright outburst from Peter obi but the situation we found ourselves.

From the beginning,he thanked the war-raged Ukraine for their generosity but went further to claim we have up to 60% uncultivated land wch could have solved that issue.

It is pathetic to lay emphasis on his "2 cents" which in reality is the truth and then turn back to say he misfired.


If a ware-torn Ukraine can still distribute grain,what stops Nigeria with more man power,a fertile land and suitable weather conditions to rely on them.

UNWFP buys grains from Ukraine like many other customers including 1st world countries. UNWFP buys 80% of its grains from Ukraine numbering almost one million tonnes. Ukraine then decide to throw in some free grains (25k tonnes) to buy goodwill since they have spare they cannot sell. That's like market woman throwing in one mudu of Garri (jara) for you after you finish buying 5 paint buckets.

Last year, we received Ukraine grains via UNWFP
2022, we received Ukraine grains via UNWFP
This year, the exact same, with one mudu of jara thrown in
