And that to you makes sense? So the government did not realise they would need the road when they were approving the location? Well, no surprises, a person without one kobo will find it easy to support destroying a hard earned investment since they don't have a kobo, poor man mentality.

If you are not satisfied take a placard and go to Aso rock

Ghana need Landmark.

If this business was in Ghana, i dont think he will ever want to come to Nigeria.

There is nothing here aside hared, bigotry, witchhunt and death.

We are only waiting to see how all this ends.
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by NoToPile: 3:08pm On May 01
I don't understand was any of Landmark buildings affected? Nope.

The beach front seems to be the issue, does the FG own beach front, I guess that's Yes.

Or is it not the same pictures of the demolition we are seeing everywhere.

The day a surveyor told me all lands belong to the govt and govt can come at anytime to claim any land acquired even legally with C of O and the worse is one would be paid compensation is the day I really understood all this matters.

Meaning govt can come at any time for any property(ies) to use for any purpose.

Procashtips:

So you didn't know the Initial govt plan was to pass behind the business and not in front?

The govt is within their right to alter the project plan insofar as it is their land.

It’s as if YOU buy a land now, and build a house, but then you leave the front yard free so that passers by had a footpath/shortcut through your compound.

And then the day you decide to build a small boys quarters in the front, your neighbours start abusing you, and calling you a wicked man for blocking their way.

That’s similar to what’s happening with Landmark.

The road should have been started at Calabar to allow the beaches on that lagos stretch time to make more money. The beach was always going to go as it is part of banana island.

Hehehehehe grin grin grin

If the condition for starting it was that it HAD to start from the Calabar end, and the contract was thrown open for open bidding, then Tinubu wouldn’t have been interested in it! His interest is driven by selfish business interests, to enrich his business associates and cronies, and most importantly to sabotage the business interests of a Igbo man whose business was thriving in a Lagos Tinubu believes Igbos’ have little or no political and economic stake in! Tinubu is a greedy vindictive crook and crass bigot, and he’s not acting any different from how i expected him to act! Might be painful reading for some, but it’s the truth!

You are the shallow one because you don't even understand the arguments. Go and listen to what the owner of Landmark did when he learnt about the project before acquiring the land. Your moniker is common sense but you don't have it.

Stop posting rubbish with your shallow small brain.

The plan for Eko Atlantic was already in place before he even bought the land where he built the Landmark Building. Go and read the plan, it's all over the internet. Stop limiting your shallow brain to small talk. Learn to see the bigger picture. Everything is not about Landmark. Other businesses are also affected.
He bought the land where he has the building, but no one sod the beach area to him. I dare him to show any document showing any purchase or authorization to use the beach area. Obi has simply brainwashed so many of you gullible mumus.

When Peter Obi was Governor, he stated that any infrastructure obstructing road construction must be removed with no compensation.
- Dave Umahi subtly criticizes Peter Obi, urging him to issue a public apology for the remarks he made regarding the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

How will the coastal road brings about new businesses when our posture as a country shows government can wake up and destroy businesses at will in the name of projects no sane investor will invest in the environment of uncertainty. Surely after this project there will always be another projects
CommonSense1967:
He's very shallow for that comment. Obviously, he is shortsighted and can't see the bigger picture.

The coastal road will bring in way more tourism than just one business. Imagine how many coastal businesses will spring up along the whole coast including international standard hotels and other investments.

Redress in court controlled by Tinubu? Stop playing

The deluded dude who insists Peter Obi won the election and Bola Tinubu was rigged in.

Was it Tinubu's fault that Peter Obi could not bring facts and figures to prove where and how he won?

He floundered to ask disqualification of Tinubu on the grounds of a financial forfeiture which he claimed was related to drugs, but failed to bring an expert witness to prove it. He also wanted disqualification on the grounds of double nomination of Kashim Shettima, which was settled before swearing in. Then he started quarreling about non-transmission of results to IREV. If Tinubu controls the courts, did Tinubu control the brain of Peter Obi to do the wrong things?

Why didn't your messiah bring result sheets from polling agents to demonstrate how he won the elections?

Peter Obi lost, he knew it. But to keep the mob like you happy, he had to form activity that exposed his limitations.

He lost. I am sorry it's hard for you. Call me let's cry together if it makes you feel better.

If u look at this picture, after destroying Landmark bsuiness because he is Igbo, they then rejoin the main route. They then rejoin the original route that the road was suppose to follow.

Now the same road is in front and at the back, less than 1km apart. where is that done.

With all due disrespect intended , you are very unwise..

If na road dey bring more tourism and international standard hotels, how much tourism and International standard hotels have sprung up on the Lagos Ibadan express, Benin Ore express, and existing highways in the country?

Same existing highways are currently a haven for armed robbers, kidnappers and murderers, with many countries issuing travel advisories against travelling to most parts of Nigeria.

Instead of the government to invest in making the present road network better and safer, it is instead squandering money on a white elephant coastal highway? .. Please what exactly is there to tour in Nigeria's coast that warrants such a highway.. What can't the existing highways do that a "Coastal highway" can?

What are the issues?

(1) Landmark admitted they violated the right of way of FG.

(2) They have not proved that they own the coastal land.

(3) The demolition only affected some shanties, and hardly the main buildings.

(4) Landmark wanted to fight the project to protect their selfish interest.

(5) How come he didn't seek redress in court if he felt his land was forcefully taken away from him?

(6) Why are other businesses not making so much noise like Landmark?

If anyone wants to take his businesses out of Nigeria, he can consider the market and the operating conditions. Landmark goofed here. They never asked the right questions. They felt if they build on that land and stayed for long, it would automatically belong to them. The least I expected him was to find another location in Lagos to continue. Just inform your patrons of the new location.

How hard is that?

Find another location in Lagos to build indeed

This is a very big lesson for those Igbos putting there investments in places where it will be destroyed

I've observed Yoruba that look like Igbo people reason and behave just like Igbo people. Even agabadox know this fact, why they also attack them and deny them from voting in the last election. I truly believe if you test the DNA of these real Yorubas/Omulabis, you will find out that they are more related to Igbo and share nothing with Agbadox, who invaded Yorubaland from from Dahomey and Togo. They don't even look alike. Omulabis need to investigate this.

Shut up quickly, you tribal bigot.

If you see me the first thing you will probably speak to me is igbo language. I resemble igbos wela ( according to many igbos I have come across). But I don't share anything in common with you people.

When we insult Gen-Zs, this is the reason why. That chill to just seek information for information sake is not just there. They just hop on any thread and stupidly ride on till the wheel falls off.

For those who care to know, This is the plan for Eko Atlantic City. That red mark is where Landmark is situated. There are still plans to extend the Atlantic City to all the beach areas where Landmark is situated and other beaches. The coastal road is the beginning of that phase of the Atlantic city. Nobody is explaining this part of the development. The owner of Landmark too is aware of this & is not saying anything about it. Landmark beach would basically disappear because of the Atlantic city but it is not because of any witch-hunting.

Landmark isn't a tourist destination. Landmark is just like a small beach side resort for those who can afford it. and lets not talk about the overpriced and exploiting restaurants and cafe along that oniru beach shorelines

How many tourist visit landmark? majority of customers in landmark are Nigerians

it unfortunate that some people have spined these stuff into a tribal issue but along that shores, lot of restaurants, shops and also shanties will also be destroyed.

if we take into consideration, the effort the lagos and federal government took to reclaim most of that land from the ocean, they spent billions of naira doing that, but then how can you now claim ownership of something that has a master plan and the government have spent billions of dollars in doing.

Have you ever thought why there are no beach front house properties in Nigeria? it is because of the landuse acts and the claim that from 250M from the beach shore, the government owns it.

so why spin the news into something tribal, when you know you are breaking the land use act and also the government master plan

Some people think they’re so important that if they leave Nigeria they’ll be felt.

The problem I have with Lagos State government and Federal government is allowing individuals and businesses buy and build on lands that are for the government only later to demolish structures years later.

If a land belongs to the government on no circumstance should the land be available for sale or purchase. Erect giant boards on them warning that the lands belong to the government.
That is how it suppose to be but in this zoooooo is the order round

This country is a joke. And the funniest part is that some set of people will be happy with all these demolitions, thinking they're doing a certain tribe, not knowing they're doing themselve. Go on twitter, you'll see some people cheering that misplaced priority of a project, saying Igbos should go to their region and invest, they don't want Igbos investment in Lagos bla, bla, bla. But what they don't know is that other investors who are not Igbos are also watching and taking notes.

I just they laugh those people because by the time they realise what they doing to themselves, I'll be like when Zimbabweans began chasing white people and their investments out of their lands in the 1980's thinking they were doing the oyinbos, only for the country to suffer from one of the worst economic crisis known to mankind a few years later grin

Lastly as a SS babe, this is for those of you saying "God bless people of SS & SW", deceiving yourselves, if Nigerian divides today and for some reason, SS are not able to get their own country, We would rather go with the Igbos than join ourselves with the same corrupt people that have been responsible for our sufferings and the sufferings of Nigeria at large since 1960. Make una continue to dey deceive unaselves, we know our true friends and know our true enemies.
