Good2go1: This is the main issue. Especially since we are actively seeking for investors as a country, how on earth will we be making decisions that show such unseriousness. And we wonder why Maersk was quick to denounce the proposed $600m investment claim. 1 Like |

santaclaws: You don't get it, the land that belonged/sold to landmark is untouched, because the area between them and the water was inhabited, they decided to use it as an extension, it happens everywhere, market, shops do the same, but once the owner wants to use the land, you have to move. Those that have been to beach resort can atest to this, even though the government allowed you to use it, doesn't mean it automatically belongs to you. |

djon78: Do you know until this morning, I didn't realize the owner was Igbo? Have you been to Landmark? Was it only Igbo businesses that were affected? Why are the other Igbos not complaining? There is one question many of you have refused to answer: the land in contention, who does it belong to? |
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by ElSudani: 3:22pm On May 01 |
Bliss4Lyfe: So, the road construction was conceived just to destroy one business because it is owned by an Ibo man? God! This is serious. |

raumdeuter: Yeah right. Better leave discussions like these for serious investors that know what it means to invest their hard earned MONEY, not nairaland typists that sit on their ass typing platitudes. |
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by motymop: 3:22pm On May 01 |
Bliss4Lyfe: you know what you posted doesnt make sense Since you claim it is all about being igbo so is it only igbo businesses that are in the shorelines?? think about this, you posted a picture of a red and yellow line On the red mark, there are also businesses situated on it, obviously some of the owners might be igbos On the yellow line is also landmark owned by a igbo person that means even if the government destroy any of the above mark, igbos will be affected that is why your pictures doesnt make sense, you are just spilling out propaganda without understanding what you posted. |

DMerciful: Call me let us cry together. You are in pain, in severe pains because Tinubu defeated your messiah. Be more worried about your messiah failures. As for Tinubu, he is not failing. I'd give him until first quarter of 2025. Let me see his performance at the end of the year before I assess him. 1 Like |

Arafat1: You are not very smart. How many people do you see around the world traveling to places where there is no big body of water like an Ocean on vacation? In the US, more people would rather travel to Florida and California on the coast than travel to Idaho or Wyoming. Even the Landmark guys know this simple logic, that is why he bought the land close to the beach. The beach is the biggest draw for his business, but unfortunately for him, he does not own the beach nor did he get permission from any govt to use the beach forever. He was allowed to use it while there was no overriding public interest. Without the water, Landmark is just another hotel, nothing more. Use your brain. People travel all over the world to come to Florida, Santorini, Antyla, Agadir, California, and Zanzibar just for the Ocean views. I have been to them all. Now that the govt wants to construct a road that will serve millions of people, it's only common sense to vacate the land. BTW, is Landmark the only beach in that area? Many other beaches like Atican, Oniru, and others are also affected. The Lagos state govt should revoke his license and kick him out for trying to incite people against the govt. He's a very dumb businessman, he has damaged the landmark brand forever. I can't imagine visiting his business any longer. Let him take it somewhere else. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Reflect7: I don't agree with Mr Aina statements! Is he saying the project isn't worth it- the Coastal Highways Projects or that because he is a 'Tourist Expert' Nigeria-should not develop again or would the 'Cost of destruction ' scares away would be Investors- for a New Project like this? No,rather More Investors would come to Nigeria, once the place is taking shape! I can see more Tourist attractions, -More Hotels, -More Beautiful Cities, coming up along the Coastal Areas, more transportation - rail and roads, - more Economic transformation along 9- States, especially the Southern States and than God,it is likened to Irish and USA - Coastal Highways! - more real Estates that is comparable to that of US and Europe, etc! We should not be selfish in promoting our tribal gigost because of an individual but let's look at the benefits of Public at large! Federal Govt should be magnanimous in Paying those whose properties have been illegally encroached and settled the matter on a win- win basis! 1 Like |
