How will the coastal road brings about new businesses when our posture as a country shows government can wake up and destroy businesses at will in the name of projects no sane investor will invest in the environment of uncertainty. Surely after this project there will always be another projects

This is the main issue. Especially since we are actively seeking for investors as a country, how on earth will we be making decisions that show such unseriousness. And we wonder why Maersk was quick to denounce the proposed $600m investment claim.

The only things that matter to us in Nigeria is chasing after women, betting, drinking, religion and corruption. Everything else na cruise. Nigerians are not even serious humans!

When I heard the owner of Landmark argue that he knew about the road project, acquired his land so that the road could run behind it and that this administration came on board and altered the project course to run through his beach front, I was shocked! Why are we always like this in this country?

PS: I didn't know that Tayo has left the country. People in government and the lunatics who support them make it very difficult to honestly like this country.

Don't be fooled.........the coastal road predates all the development happening along the coast.

Always using America and Europe anytime it suits una

In this climes you are talking about, both Tinubu,Matawalle and that shameless thief Ganduje would be sitting pretty in prison

As would Peter Obi who used Anambra state funds to build a family brewery and ZERO schools in 8 years.

If Tinubu was performing, your bragging right would have been understandable.

Ain't you worried about Tinubu's continued failures?

That was the basis of my exchanges with you since. That was the pillar upon which you attempted to undermine Tinubu.

It was worthwhile to remind you of your own fears.

Send me a private message let us cry together and mourn Obi's loss. You'd feel better.

Oga travel blogger, Landmark is a private business and even the demolition didn't affect his major buildings. What they lack direct access to is the beach front, which doesn't belong to anyone but the public...

I condemn the FG & Alausa for allowing private individuals and businesses encroach the beach front in the first place. I think they really deserve the negative publicity they're getting.

You don't get it, the land that belonged/sold to landmark is untouched, because the area between them and the water was inhabited, they decided to use it as an extension, it happens everywhere, market, shops do the same, but once the owner wants to use the land, you have to move.

Those that have been to beach resort can atest to this, even though the government allowed you to use it, doesn't mean it automatically belongs to you.

This is a very big lesson for those Igbos putting there investments in places where it will be destroyed

It's gross stupidity

Lands full East for investments

This is a very big lesson

They should continue

Do you know until this morning, I didn't realize the owner was Igbo?

Have you been to Landmark?

Was it only Igbo businesses that were affected? Why are the other Igbos not complaining?

There is one question many of you have refused to answer: the land in contention, who does it belong to?

If u look at this picture, after destroying Landmark bsuiness because he is Igbo, they then rejoin the main route. They then rejoin the original route that the road was suppose to follow.

Now the same road is in front and at the back, less than 1km apart. where is that done.

So, the road construction was conceived just to destroy one business because it is owned by an Ibo man?
God! This is serious.

you know what you posted doesnt make sense

Since you claim it is all about being igbo

so is it only igbo businesses that are in the shorelines??

think about this, you posted a picture of a red and yellow line

On the red mark, there are also businesses situated on it, obviously some of the owners might be igbos

On the yellow line is also landmark owned by a igbo person

that means even if the government destroy any of the above mark, igbos will be affected

that is why your pictures doesnt make sense, you are just spilling out propaganda without understanding what you posted.

If na road dey bring more tourism and international standard hotels, how much tourism and International standard hotels have sprung up on the Lagos Ibadan express, Benin Ore express, and existing highways in the country?

You are not very smart. How many people do you see around the world traveling to places where there is no big body of water like an Ocean on vacation? In the US, more people would rather travel to Florida and California on the coast than travel to Idaho or Wyoming.
Even the Landmark guys know this simple logic, that is why he bought the land close to the beach. The beach is the biggest draw for his business, but unfortunately for him, he does not own the beach nor did he get permission from any govt to use the beach forever. He was allowed to use it while there was no overriding public interest.
Without the water, Landmark is just another hotel, nothing more. Use your brain. People travel all over the world to come to Florida, Santorini, Antyla, Agadir, California, and Zanzibar just for the Ocean views. I have been to them all.

Now that the govt wants to construct a road that will serve millions of people, it's only common sense to vacate the land.
BTW, is Landmark the only beach in that area? Many other beaches like Atican, Oniru, and others are also affected.

The Lagos state govt should revoke his license and kick him out for trying to incite people against the govt. He's a very dumb businessman, he has damaged the landmark brand forever. I can't imagine visiting his business any longer. Let him take it somewhere else.

Same existing highways are currently a haven for armed robbers, kidnappers and murderers, with many countries issuing travel advisories against travelling to most parts of Nigeria.

Instead of the government to invest in making the present road network better and safer, it is instead squandering money on a white elephant coastal highway? .. Please what exactly is there to tour in Nigeria's coast that warrants such a highway.. What can't the existing highways do that a "Coastal highway" can?

Use your damn head.

Inland roads are VERY different from coastal roads in attracting tourism and real estate projects and investment opportunities.

Tayo aina doesn't know what he talking about, those people sponsors his youtube channel, so he cant speak ill of them even though they are breaking the law.

In Europe, and America or even south africa, you can not build on a property just because you bought the land, you need to have the right permit and government approved documents.

Landmark isn't a tourist destination. Landmark is just like a small beach side resort for those who can afford it. and lets not talk about the overpriced and exploiting restaurants and cafe along that oniru beach shorelines

How many tourist visit landmark? majority of customers in landmark are Nigerians

it unfortunate that some people have spined these stuff into a tribal issue but along that shores, lot of restaurants, shops and also shanties will also be destroyed.

if we take into consideration, the effort the lagos and federal government took to reclaim most of that land from the ocean, they spent billions of naira doing that, but then how can you now claim ownership of something that has a master plan and the government have spent billions of dollars in doing.

Have you ever thought why there are no beach front house properties in Nigeria? it is because of the landuse acts and the claim that from 250M from the beach shore, the government owns it.

so why spin the news into something tribal, when you know you are breaking the land use act and also the government master plan
With all these your epistle, why is the government paying a compensation of millions of dollars to them around that place, if those lands were acquired illegally? Can any government pay compensation on illegal structures demolished?

You're one of the problems of your generation. Do have a rethink.

Is it him that determines where the road will run?
So he even knew it was land earmarked for a road, and he built a resort there?
Mssheww.
Can he try that in UK or America?
Plus Tayo Aina needs to SHUT THE HELL UP, and go live wherever he wants and stop using Nigeria as his excuse.
Idiot too stupid and full of himself to see the big picture or read the legal provisions around the issue.
No, Tayo Aina, in those places you mentioned with your inferiority complex, you cannot build on a land you know has been earmarked for a road, and then when time comes to build the road, you start instructing the govt where the road should pass through.
You can never try that in those countries you worship, Mr Aina.
He even mentioned Middle East.
Dem no born you well to try such there.

I don't agree with Mr Aina statements!
Is he saying the project isn't worth it- the Coastal Highways Projects or that because he is a 'Tourist Expert' Nigeria-should not develop again or would the 'Cost of destruction ' scares away would be Investors- for a New Project like this? No,rather More Investors would come to Nigeria, once the place is taking shape!
I can see more Tourist attractions,
-More Hotels,
-More Beautiful Cities, coming up along the Coastal Areas,
more transportation - rail and roads,
- more Economic transformation along 9- States, especially the Southern States and than God,it is likened to Irish and USA - Coastal Highways!
- more real Estates that is comparable to that of US and Europe, etc!
We should not be selfish in promoting our tribal gigost because of an individual but let's look at the benefits of Public at large!
Federal Govt should be magnanimous in Paying those whose properties have been illegally encroached and settled the matter on a win- win basis!
