The beach is the biggest draw for his business, but unfortunately for him, he does not own the beach nor did he get permission from any govt to use the beach forever. He was allowed to use it while there was no overriding public interest.
Without the water, Landmark is just another hotel, nothing more. Use your brain. People travel all over the world to come to Florida, Santorini, Antyla, Agadir, California, and Zanzibar just for the Ocean views. I have been to them all.

Now that the govt wants to construct a road that will serve millions of people, it's only common sense to vacate the land.
BTW, is Landmark the only beach in that area? Many other beaches like Atican, Oniru, and others are also affected.


The Lagos state govt should revoke his license and kick him out for trying to incite people against the govt. He's a very dumb businessman, he has damaged the landmark brand forever. I can't imagine visiting his business any longer. Let him take it somewhere else.

What is a beach resort without access to the beach front? Is the government that granted him the license to build the beach resort not aware of the coastal highway plan? Why did the abandone the old design of the coastal highway and decided to encroach on businesses and communities people suffered to build without any assistance from the government? Is he saying the project isn't worth it- the Coastal Highways Projects or that because he is a 'Tourist Expert' Nigeria-should not develop again or would the 'Cost of destruction ' scares away would be Investors- for a New Project like this? Government isn't paying anyone who encroached on the sea shores.

Also the compensation for those who were affected is around 1,420,751.40 USD ( 2 Billion naira) not millions of dollars
