Everyone on Nairaland knows him to spew lies.
He has never dropped any positive comments on NL whether about God or Bible
That's his level of toxicity and it doesn't bother him

I am naturally drawn to things that people generally criticize and most of the time, I do find out that most of these things are not really what people say they are. People would generally hate what they don’t understand and that is the case of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. While growing up, I watched people avoid interacting with them and this made me curious to know about their doctrines.

After studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 12 years, I can say that they are widely misunderstood by most people. Do I totally agree with them? No, I do not but I share their perspective in some areas like the subject of the Trinity and Tithing. I do not actively study with the Jehovah’s Witnesses anymore but here are areas they have my respect.

First, is evangelism. Without a doubt, no other Christian set actively evangelizes like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, none even come close. As a Jehovah’s Witness, you are readily mandated to evangelize not just occasionally like most Christian sets but regularly.

Second is their civility. As far as I am concerned, I think the Jehovah’s Witnesses are the most civilized Christian set in Nigeria. Even though they use microphones in their services, you can barely hear a sound outside their kingdom hall. I think most churches need to learn from them on how not to disturb people with their horn speakers. It can be very annoying.

Third is their uniformity. I have gone to kingdom halls and many Jehovah’s Witnesses’ conferences in many regions of the country and I can confirm that they teach the same message everywhere. Most multi-branched churches in Nigeria are not like this. Don't let me start to mention names.

Fourth is biblical knowledge. When it comes to biblical knowledge, I haven't seen that Christian set that can win the Jehovah’s Witnesses in a Bible-based debate even though a lot of people will argue that their teachings are heresies. The truth of the matter is that no church is perfect and Jehovah’s Witnesses are not an exemption. Try an engage a random 8-year-old Jehovah’s Witness, you will be shocked by his or her narration of biblical events.

Recently, I was watching a video of two pastors arguing about tithing on Facebook and I was so irritated by the pastor arguing for why Christians should pay tithe. The Bible verses he was using as his defense were totally irrelevant to the points he was making. Jehovah's Witnesses are not like that. If you ask a Jehovah’s Witness a question he doesn't know, he will not try to be proof smart to you or beat around the bush, he will simply tell you that he does have the answer to your question but he will reach out to his superior for the answer. Trust me, he will always come back with a reasonable response even if it doesn't really answer the question exactly but at least it will sound very reasonable.

Fifth is their lower divorce rate. Of course, there will certainly be Jehovah’s Witnesses who are divorced but I am yet to see one myself. Do you know one? The Bible says, “By their fruits, we shall know them. This is a clear testament to show that the word of God is of great effect in their lives. Yeah!

Sixth is their devotion. When it comes to devotion, I rate the Jehovah’s Witnesses very high. A Jehovah’s Witness with an MSc can decide to turn into an artisan simply because he doesn't want anything that will hinder him from going to weekly meetings at the Kingdom Hall. One of their members once told me that he has never missed a meeting in his entire life and if I wasn't mistaken, he should be around 32 years of age when he told me that. Jehovah’s Witnesses don't joke with their meetings and that's why you will rarely see a Jehovah’s Witness working in the bank.

Lastly is their less emphasis on money. This is one area I respect the Jehovah’s Witnesses most. A Jehovah’s Witness will politely stop you by the road, hand you a book that would have cost you a lot of money, and ask that you give a free-will offering. Even if N5 is all you have, he will collect. This is not the way it is in other Christian sets where everything is for sale. The only Christian set that is a bit like the Jehovah’s Witnesses in this regard is the Christ Embassy with their “Rhapsody of Reality”. It will shock you that the Jehovah’s Witnesses do not take offerings or tithe in their meeting except a box at the entrance of the hall where members can drop their voluntary offerings. Sometimes I imagine how they can run their publications and the maintenance of their halls. I don't think there is any better way to explain the true provision of God than that.

In conclusion, I know a lot of Christians see the Jehovah’s Witnesses as a heretic movement or even a demonic one but I don't think so. Instead, I see sincere people who are devoted to God in the way they know best. Whether their doctrine is accurate or not, I just hope God counts the sincerity of their heart and devotion as righteousness.

I disagree with the fifth one . I have your members around me that have no regards for marriage. It would have even been better they are divorced than emotional trauma given themselves. Your article shows your members are more truthful to your GB, organization than to God abd themselves.

Sorry o. What you behave is of more importance than what you preach.

Call it whatever you want the debate should be between two persons irrespective of their denomination but if it has to do with church doctrine each person belongs then you must mention the name of your own church so the doctrine may be placed side by side with that of the other person in the absence of that you're not ready for a real debate! wink

True Christianity is about how God is using His Holy Spirit to gather imperfect but faithful and obedient humans in all the nations {Isaiah 2:2; Micah 4:1} these people will start paying rapt attention to what the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob said as written in the Bible {Isaiah 2:3; Micah 4:2} and the expected result of this is they will use what they found in the pages of the Bible to settle their disparities peacefully among themselves, divert their resources into production of food and information materials, stop the production, buying, selling and using destructive devices, stop enrolling in the army and vow never to raise weapons against anyone again! Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3

This is the greatest miracle that will destroy all the machinations of Satan {1John 3:8} whose intention is to see the entire human race wiped out {John 10:10} but who will establish such a program among imperfect humans? That's why a perfect child needs to be born among mankind {Isaiah 9:6} this child will grow into an adult as a perfect man he will then lead imperfect humans in the way of holiness {Isaiah 35:8} the establishment of Christianity was to achieve this goal that's why Jesus is called the Prince of Peace {Isaiah 9:6} as he will counsel obedient mankind to form one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers! Zephaniah 3:9

Of course there are thousands of groups claiming Christians today but out of them all only Jehovah's Witnesses are fulfilling this prophecy with their activities globally proving that the Prince of Peace has come and they are witnesses to the fact that his teachings can unite people of all nations in love! Act 1:8

Please if you have a better explanation about what true Christianity should do among mankind don't hesitate to air your views.

Thanks and God bless you!

If you don't have a specific group with which you worship that means you're rebellious as all disciples of Christ must be obedient to those taking the lead among them {Hebrews 13:17 compare to Act 2:42} you're not one of those obedient to Christ through his chosen or anointed brothers.

As for Bible translations there are thousands out there so you can't pick one and start criticizing it when all others also vary one way or another! wink

Pick your questions one after another so you can know what your neighbour have in mind not just piling up the questions.
But for the benefit of other followers i will attend to one of your questions now!

You will not vote

I love to vote for someone i know very well and can vouch for when he gets there because i will ask him several questions personally to be sure he can solve the problem before standing as his surety.

But do i know any of these people?
NO!
So why should i vouch for someone i never knew because if i do and he failed to fulfill what he promised the curses from all those suffering will go to those that vouch for him or her.
Have you ever signed up as a surety for someone who wants to borrow money from the bank?
What if the person failed to pay up do you think his surety will be spared?
Well that's what i personally am avoiding when talking about voting for someone i don't even know! undecided

very nonsense analogy. We had 18 aspirant but you voted none.
Perhaps if you think none of them are capable why not a Jehovah witness campaign/contest. For you sitting on the fence and forsaking your community and country is a better choice

Perhaps don’t personalize the question, I was asking why Jehovah witness don’t participate in election but it seem you’re talking just about yourself

Why are you angry that your Cult is being exposed? What were you thinking was going to happen to you when you go about castigating other Christians? It was sweeting you people to point fingers at other Christians calling them False religion but your turn has come and you are wailing. Have you JWs ever said anything positive about other Christians in that your Demonic Kingdom halls? All you people do there is compare yourselves with other Christians and badmouth them. That's because you are a Liar, A deceiver like your Father Satan. You think Nairaland is your Demonic Kingdom hall where all of you there lie to yourselves deceiving yourselves that you are the best in the world. If you people can have the guts to call other Christians followers of Satan, be prepared for the way others will disgrace you people and expose everything that happens amongst you. You people are very secretive with your Fake image, deceiving yourselves that no one is watching you. YES Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of all CREATIONS and God used him to create all other things {Colossians 1:15-16} just as Adam is the FIRSTBORN of all human whom God used to populate the earth! Luke 3:38

lost false jw mad max

@blue, no one can add to God's word because that's how they think it should be

Col 1:16  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Col 1:17  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

God inspired: "For by Him all things were created"
nwt corruption: "because by means of him all other things were created"

there is a big difference in meaning between; "by Him all things were created"
and; "by means of him all other things were created

nwt has added to God's word
nwt has perverted God's word

nwt perversion:
16 because by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible,q whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created through himr and for him. 17 Also, he is before all other things,s and by means of him all other things were made to exist,

john 1:3 also say's all things were created through the Word/Jesus Christ:

Joh 1:3  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

^^ @underline, God made nothing by himself, but all things through the Word/Jesus Christ

Thanks about this writeup about us. You seem to be one of those rightly disposed tòeverlasting life.

I wish to add that we also do not have a clergy class. Though we may have elders and ministerial servants, there is no clerical reverence given to them or their spouses. There are no special seats for either them or their wives. This is based on whats vwritten at Matthew 23:8-12.

For instance at our branch offices, all their are paid a stipend and not a salary. Guess how much the branch overseer and the lowliest cleaner each get? They both get the same stipend.

The president of the organization flies economy. This is an organization with over 8m members. Contrast that with churches. When a member of the governing body came to Nigeria, he was moved about in a pickup.

When they eat collectively at the dining hall, no special position on the table for anyone. You'll even see the president queue for extras if there is.

The truth is birthday celebration is from pagan origin that's why you can't see any worshiper of God who celebrated birthdays in the Bible.
Moreover God's word admonished worshipers to celebrate the last day a person spent on the earth {Ecclesiastes 7:1} because that's when we can say he or she has fulfilled the will of God {Ecclesiastes 7:8} now note that Jesus did exactly that by instructing his disciples to commemorate the day he died instead of his birthday {Luke 22:19} and trust his faithful disciples that is exactly what they continue practicing afterwards! 1Corinthians 11:23-26

This is why Jesus said his disciples will be labelled "CULTISTS" for sticking to his orders! Matthew 10:24-25

May you have PEACE!

And Jesus disciples of today aka the only performing performance religious group calling others cultist but when others say so it means they are the only religious organization doing God's will grin grin grin
