IAmHim1: There's no alternative to minimum wage if you really know what it means. It's law not only in Nigeria but everywhere in the world where it's implemented. And the idea behind the minimum wage law is to ensure employers of labour don't exploit their workers, especially the lowest paid staff ,by paying them wages not enough to enable them afford the basic necessities of life. It's for this reason it's reviewed upwards periodically to meet up with current realities. In Nigeria, the law says it must be reviewed upwards once every 5 years . Delete the thread you created. Nobody in government will look at it because they know minimum wage is workers right that cannot be tempered with. |

Who is Joe Ajaero the NLC President? Joe Ajaero was the factional NLC President during the Ayuba Wabba regime in the NLC during PMB's regime. During the NLC convention that brought about the leadership of Ayuba Wabba, things were going on well until one time NLC President, who also later became a governor in Edo State stormed the convention and make them have a parallel government. The reason for the parallel govt was to have a faction of the NLC that will always support the APC led FG. Then after the tenure of Ayuba Wabba elapsed, they now made Joe Ajaero the next NLC President. Now I ask, do you think this Joe Ajaero will do anything against this present APC led FG? You already know the answer. So do not mind the NLC, they are toothless bulldog. |

triplechoice: FYI Minimum wage is expected to be reviewed every 5yrs, that's the law but it is not a must that it must be upwards Review can be downwards depending on the prevalent economic and other factors and variables |

The union leaders did a very good job, they explore all necessary channels to get it resolved. If strike is what the FG will listen and act on, let us shut down everywhere. The salary of political offices holders, appointees, SSAs are very attractive but labours are who are to labour in vain. Anything less than 220k is no go area 2 Likes |
