The new anthem is so unnecessary and it shows how idle our leaders are but then its very childish to refuse to respect the anthem. There should a line between politics and patriotism

How can a country that wants to progress go back to it's vomits. We Left the colonial anthem to an anthem written and composed by Nigerians only to go back to the same colonial anthem again.

It is either the current leaders are telling us that our past leaders are foolish, useless and clueless or that they are the ones who are clueless, foolish and useless. It is one of the two.

Nigeria is how it is today because there is no culture of protest and resistance from its citizens, people don't stand up to the government when they make unpopular laws and practice glaring corruption the military really set Nigeria backwards by decades.
Now few people like Aisha and Sowore who try to take a stand against unpopular laws are being attacked by ignorant people and paid APC online miscreants.
Go to Kenya,their people protested only because their power authorities took electricity for an hour,here the will take it for a week and nothing will happen. The people of Sudan ousted their former president because he removed subsidy from bread thereby increasing the cost of bread here the will remove fuel subsidy, electricity subsidy etc and nothing will still happen. They will pay a few people 40k and they will come online to attack patriots like Aisha such a shame!

The issue here is not standing up for the national anthem. It has nothing to do with any of the nonsense you wrote up there. What exactly was she protesting when she sat down when others were standing up to sing the anthem.

If Tinubu had brought succour to Nigeria when he came on board I would be the first to insult this woman but what do we have today -hardship at the peak. Even an APC supporter died in stampede because of common food.

A worthy Citizen ought to be patriotic through thick and thin.

It would now be difficult for her to hold a political appointment position such as Minister where you have to be screened by the senate when citizens dig and bring this out if she is ever nominated.

When “Nigeria we hail thee” was changed to “Arise O’compatriot” , just like now, many people didn’t like the change. but it wasn’t heard of people refusing to sing the national anthem.
