Nigerians are really going through hell in UK. This are people doing literally well in Nigeria. Resigned their jobs, sold their lands, cars etc only to come to face hard life to the fullest.

and no, leaving Nigeria was not a mistake
the planning and execution was just not right

The devaluation of the naira and the rapid decline in the currency was the nail in our coffins as Nigerians

if the devaluation hadn't happened
it won't be this bad

that's one
two
those who had most of their networth in USD
they did not feel the impact as much

three
those with "arrangee" POF
they are getting a raw deal
2021 set were really really lucky

Even though with forged POF. Then with exchange rate going for 560 with 2.8m you can get almost 5000 pounds. If situation too hard u sell one land for village and convert and clear fees or u borrow from friends
But today 5000 is almost 10 million... How many land u want sell or who fit borrow person that kind money in Nigeria.

This are the issue

Nigerians need to find a way to get out of the news, this is not a good look. It’s one bad headline after the other.

Coming to the UK now is not a reasonable idea for anyone. I hope you guys listen. Look elsewhere to achieve your dreams and goals.
Many that came with family are in a mess right now. UK increased salary threshold to £38,700 whichever is higher to get COS, where people wan see that kind jobs. After graduation, pay £3k for PSW visa , then very difficult to get £38,700 job.
It's like they created PSW visa then block the possibility of getting the job afterwards.
Care COS don scarce no dependants.

They just mess up everything. Depression, anxiety after selling off and borrowing millions to embark on japa to UK journey.

Our innate shameless greed is what ruined the care COS route

I don't know whether it is poverty mentality, bad and disgusting culture, desperation or the mix if all of it, but the way we behave is too poor.

See how greed spoilt the Care COS thing
"Selling" slots at exorbitant rates
"overselling" slots to the point where you don't enough "shifts" to cover them

It's a serious matter. The depression that so many parents from Naija are facing right now , is alarming. I met one the other day with 3 children and still paying loan they collected to Japa with family. They are so confused and don’t even know what next. Both partners were bankers in Nigeria and doing well. They cannot get care COS to cover family and raising £15k to pay for post study be like almost impossible for both partners.
The man wad talking to me with tears in his eyes.
Everything lost in Nigeria to Japa, now UK don change laws tighten everywhere.

Someone was saying he wants to leave his 4 million job and come via student visa with family.

And I asked: is your life under threat?
Have you being kidnapped?
He said no. He just want a better life for family, he could earn here well.

I just like Said how things are with prove and evidence. He said he rather stay back then.

Why will someone leave 4 million income even if its 1m moving business u are leaving that for an unknown not even a work visa a student visa?

I have seen family man crying [img][/img] crying like a baby.
A classmate of mine the husband had high blood pressure and collapsed was rushed to hospital when 999 was called and thankfully nothing happened to him.

I have a neighbour who just told me he has high blood pressure recently and they told him he is lucky that he hasn't been affected badly by it cos he was unaware.. A man of 31 years of age.. School has threatened him to go home and he is still owning over 5k p

This plan well plan well.
They had probably paid for school fees. And now care cos don scarce.
So the only way na post study.
A husband and wife will have to cough out 6000 pounds for post study.
I don't know how many children they have then u multiply.

After struggling to pay school fees finish and loan and now maybe their visa remains till August to expire... Which magic can they do to raise 15k.

The only thing is to send the children back to Nigeria but the irony is that... Am leaving to give my children a better future

They better return the children to Nigeria, then both parents apply for post study then use the 2 years to gather back funds they sank for the japa

why will you come to the UK in such manner and not expect that post study is a possibility.

Nigerians our thinking is too upside down

Post Study visa should be in the cards from the beginning. Claiming you don't want to do post study, and your case will be diff is what landed so many in hot water, some of whom I know personally.

From the day u land in this country, just have it at the back of your mind that you will pay for that post study
but over wise and over smart will now allow us

I know I may be sounding somehow. but the truth is the truth. Your planning should have plan a to e.

okay how will you explain a case on tik tok where someone went to go "buy" COS instead of doing Post Study, only for the licence to be withdrawn and throwing such person in limbo?

Planning ahead means you having your full money.
Which is at least 45milion.

If you like plan from here to jericho without having the full money u are still dreaming. Your plan is just like a wish and u know that if wishes were horses lthen beggers will ride .

Most talk in Nigeria... If u are travelling learn an IT skills it's high in demand blabla... When u arrived u go know say khaki no be leather in fact u go sabi say u de dream. Without UK experience u wan get job grin

Most people plan to pay half their school fees in Nigeria then when they get here they with their dependants will search for jobs and pay their fees but getting here dependant only get 20hrs job after 3 months or get a ware house job then after 2 months of working the job stopped. And they stayed for another 3 months to see another job..

People sold lands, houses, even borrowed to land and start cashing out but on getting here it's another ball game

Different story.

I have seen people who spent over 2000 pounds on hotel pending when they seee accommodation.
I have seen people sleep in buses, they buy day ticket they don't see accommodation.
I have seen people sleep in school libraries.
All because they couldn't get accommodation as most houses demand u are working full time and not a student or u get a guarantor.
You apply for a house then they said come and see it in 2:30pm and as u are viewing and coming out, you will met 5 people whose time to view same house is 2:35,2:40,2:45 etc

If you don't have your complete fees and living expenses to sort your bills then any plan you make is as good as not planning

You go see where men de beg money from Nigeria take complete money for rent.... Monthly rent here is 700,000 naira upwards

Hmmm

Also note that they recently raised the fees for post study, IHS and visa too. It was not expensive like this.
The new price came into effect recently it was not this expensive before.

Secondly most thought they could get jobs and before 5 months school fees clear..but on reality 10 month they are still struggling to clear it.

Many schools already withdrew sponsorship from many students unable to balance fees or pay first instalment after coming to UK. When agents told many you can pay balance with 20hrs/week or work and collect pay by hand as if its easy to tell Oyibo that.
Many employers will not give shift more than visa stipulated.

grin pay by hand ke where u see am. Can u even get to see the director or owner of thr company?

The chances of seeing such pay by hand is 99.9% impossible unless baby sitting where a class mate will be going to work and will like u to look over the baby and mighty pay u 6 pounds per hour and this job one might see it 3 times in a whole semester.

Guys, ensure you have 50-70% of your tuition ready to be paid before you leave Nigeria if you’re going for Masters in the Uk. No jokes, it’s not funny now.

While for undergraduate, get the complete one year deposit in full before you leave Nigeria. It’s not exaggeration, it’s not funny at all. Don’t get that hope you will pay your balance while working here.
. A lot of people were misled by their Agents, they got here and became stuck.

Finally, if you can, consider other countries in Europe.

Unless the person comes from a wealthy family, no Nigerian should study for an undergraduate degree outside Nigeria. It is not possible. Undergraduate studies are for a minimum of four years - four years of living expenses and tuition fees.

Covenant, Babcock, ABUAD, AUN, and Baze exist. Even Ghana or South Africa should be avoided unless the person's family is very wealthy, preferably their earnings are dollar-denominated.

I am curious, what if the person has actual industry IT certifications like those CISSP blah blah blah? What about actual work experience with tech firms in Nigeria? Is a UK work experience still necessary provided all tests are scaled through? Also, what about graduate trainee jobs recruitment programs in the UK?
