Sentiment rules Nigeria. That is why majority of Nigerians condemn the action ERISCO Foods takes against the lady. Most nigerians place emotions above facts. The best way to handle the case is for the public to send apologies to the brand and assure the brand that its product will not be boycotted. You cannot save the lady by threatening the company. If you keep threatening the company, the company will choose to die as a hero than dying as a coward.

1.
Right from the moment the lady defamed the product, sentimentalists quickly began to beat drums of boycott against the product. According to ERISCO, the demand for the defamed product sharply dropped following the defamation. But sentimentalists now claim that the defamation would not have affected the brand. They claim that what will affect the brand is the action being taken against the lady. So, the brand should have waited to fold up before challenging the defamation? Before you judge a person, put yourself in his or her shoes.

2.
The lady lied against the product by claiming it kills people. Who will keep quiet when accused of killing people? Who? If you condemn ERISCO Foods but cannot keep quiet when you are accused of murder, you are nothing but a hypocrite.

3.
I would have condemned the action of ERISCO Foods if the lady tendered a sincere apology and the public joined her to ask the brand for forgiveness. The same public that the brand's survival depends on believes the lady's claim about the product and threatens to boycott the product. So, the company is trying to save its reputation.

4.
I know she had miscarriage while in police custody, and it saddens me. But we should also know that many workers in ERISCO Foods may loose their jobs and die of hunger because of her defamation. Are you saying it is right for her to try to kill people but it is wrong for the people to try to defend themselves? ERISCO Foods didn't get her arrested to cause her the miscarriage. ERISCO Foods got her arrested for the sake of justice. The miscarriage is a coincidence, not a deliberate action.

5.
She said the paste contains Sugar. It is true, and the company never said otherwise. On the body of the paste, Sugar is listed as one of the ingredients in the paste. But the sentimentalists quickly joined her to cry that the company is deadly for putting Sugar in the paste. They implied that the company has been deceiving the public. How? Does the company hide the fact that the product contains Sugar? If not that you are stupid, you would have checked the ingredients in the paste before displaying your stupidity.

6.
The company explained that the paste is a multipurpose one that can substitute butter for bread. I saw some comments saying that such paste is being consumed for the same purpose in some Western countries. So, ignorance landed the lady and her fans into this mess. Who does a review without a thorough research?

Why did you take your time to write this thrash?
Is Erisco the first to be reviewed or criticised? Sitting presidents were shamed e.g GEJ. Even Aisha that arrested a student later apologize and gave hims a compensation.
The Erisco CEO is a high bred illiterate and has no business being in the corporate world. And you, a semi daft illiterate is defending his stone age approach. He took advantage of our mercantilist Judiciary to keep the lady in prison cos he has money to bribe them.

But he lost big time cos those against him are more than clowns like you that are for him! That's never good for any business in the long run.

Where's our humanity! She lost her babies there and that's bad

You didn't see this in the article you posted? Those people that gave those reviews meant business.
Chioma was clearly exaggerating and trying to be funny and her review should have been taken as much and just ignored. Now Erisco foods has gotten the CEO the attention he wanted, but it's wrong kind. Let him continue now
Erisco opened his business to play right? He doesn't mean business? I thought they were sharing Discounts Codes and Free Vouchers for just any Negative and Nigeria is a banana republic? Mtscheww.

Oh it is now exaggeration plus figure of speech abi? That's why she's in court, she will prove that it was exaggeration and educate the judge about figure of speech.

If you followed this case, Chioma pushed her luck too far! She was giving the opportunity to recant this before it got to court but mbanu just like many Nigerians talk anyhow because they believe "freedom of speech" doesn't have limits. My honest review is that the sugar content was intense, which I'm not even bothered about because Gino and Tastytom also has sugar in them when you taste them raw.

However, the tomato paste when Cooked for jollof rice it taste like burnt rubber or plastic. The taste was horrible. It's not something I could use twice.

Thank God I didn't review it on Facebook or Instagram. Because that man don't take criticism

That wasn't criticism...it was demarketing and defamation.. which is a crime , according to our law

Did you read my first post at all? I have shared a few things about the PR here. I don’t have to start all over again or start looking for it to make you feel good. Are you working for them? You guys should have followed another route because of the sentiments the case will generate against your brand with this court case.

I have worked in a company where we would have chosen the legal route on a particular matter but we opted for diplomacy & it was a win-win for both parties. Most times it’s not by gragra. EFL might win the case but the company will lose customers on the flip side if the lady wins the company will still lose customers.

Exactly.
The power drunk CEO decided to flex muscle with the poor lady.
He got her arrested and the police detained her on orders of the Inspector General of Police till she had miscarriage.

Unfortunately, the IGP and the power drunk CEO forgot that this is information age and we're not in early 2000s or 1990s were such oppression by power drunk people in Nigeria went unnoticed.

Her story got out and then the CEO kept saying she said his tomato paste is killing people in her review.

But this is a lie by the CEO cos her original review never contained such.

It was in her response to an aggressive comment on her review post that she wrote ki**ing.

The CEO interpreted it as killing when it could also mean kidding or kissing, all in a bid to justify using the influence of IGP to have her locked up till her miscarriage.

Is it not shocking that the IGP will be brought so low to the level of oppressing ordinary Nigerians.

Do you still wonder why people have no faith in the police and why insecurity is now so much that even police and soldiers have become endangered species and they hardly get any intel or cooperation from the public in order to fight crime.

This geographical contraption has been rightly described as a shithole.

It is worse than a shit hole

Yeah. People are forgetting that Chioma was also pregnant.

I think what ticked off the CEO was that Chioma doubled down on her review. Despite the CEO's relative in her comment section telling Chioma not to "spoil her brother's product". Chioma maintained her stance and came back again with more violence. The response from the relative was sort of dismissive and Chioma wasn't having it.

If Chioma said the tomato paste is sugary, then that's what she feels. Taste is subjective. You cannot force her to experience what she can't.

The CEO knows that the killing comment was a figure of speech but he's acting oblivious. He just wants to quash any negativity surrounding his product, he doesn't care.

Yeah, that's how low things have gotten. For the whole IGP to be bought and oppressing poor civilians. Erisco wouldn't have tried that nonsense on a rich man's daughter.

It's a shitshow.

You sound like you work for the company or maybe one of it's Directors? Lol, I see vexation and pains in how you wrote these epistles..

The point is that the power drunk CEO and his foolish team of lawyers will find it difficult if not impossible to prove she said killing in her post.

Perhaps you are just a zombie hired by them to whitewash and do damage control for the brand that's why you carry the matter on your head like lice.

Go to any thread on Facebook YouTube Twitter and Nairaland where this issue is being discussed and take a sample of the first 50 unique comments.

Count how many is in support of the power drunk CEO vs the lady who posted her review.

You'll get your answer.

Enjoy your paid zombie job

It's funny how you have the gall to bring up sentiments when that's exactly what you did in your first paragraph. Do you think there is any business on earth that doesn't have negative reviews? Do you think any business is above criticism? Is Erisco God that cannot be blasphemed?

What do you this is?

Chioma didn't defame anything. Her comment that the product was "killing people" was simply an exaggeration and figure of speech. You guys know this but want to be mischievous and obtuse.

Travel to a working country. REFUNDS and DISCOUNTS are given for negative reviews. Nobody goes to prison.

Travel to an advanced country and experience sanity.

And u foolishly think Nigerians will see that statement as a figure of speech... no wonder we elect dumb leaders ...most of u are just simply dumb
