Taxes in Chile

Back in Nigeria, if you wanted to issue an invoice, you would need to just do it yourself manually which makes zero sense. Here you issue invoice through SII. SII is the government agency in charge of tax here in Chile. After issuing the invoice you pay a certain amount 15 percent as the value added tax here. The thing Is you cant lie on this form cause even your employers depending on the jurisdiction they are in will also need that information for tax references in their own country. So the figure has to be correct and complete.

When you issue this receipt, the system takes note and reminds you to pay the tax before the 12th of the next month.

The banking system here while restrictive is actually quite good. For instance, with the most basic account you can have here, you can receive money from any country in the world. You only need to give the person the swift code of the bank and your bank account and they would send the money and the bank converts it to Chilean pesos into your account. I know it's a long short but if something similar is implemented in Nigeria with reasonable exchange rates. The exchange rates here are the same for both bank and black market, won't it help with dollar shortages? Also sending money from here is also quite easy too. You can send money from your bank app to literally any place you want.

You can have a dollar account and PayPal and all of that but hardly anyone uses it here. People just use their bank accounts and they are good with that.

The domiciliary account thing in Nigeria is powered by corruption, irresponsible printing by FGN with CBN and high debt servicing to revenue ratio.

It will work in country in same countries not in that banana republic called Nigeria

Madam, abeg list your recent food options ooo. I am thinking of starting a new food regime in another month or two but my challenge is bread seems like a very staple food I can't do without.
I make loads of stir fry mostly with cruciferous veggies. At first it will look like you are jonsing but you will learn to love them. I can't do without mushrooms( best for me is shiitake, you can get any type, bean sprout) these are high protein. I juice some veggies and fruits( not really the sweet ones but a mixture, and do smoothies too.)
When I want to swallow, I do oat. I eat tofu(protein)
I don't know where you live, you can buy it in any shop. Recently I got winter radish and froze in cubes. We don't usually got to see them all yr. Instead of doing yam pottage, I do radish pottage.
Preferable, watch any east Asian food vlogger online and see how you can gradually adjust. That they said those people have the highest iq is for a reason. I have all manner of sauces but it will take time for you to get there( they are natural probiotics like iru, palmwine and ogi water)

I was at my lowest and had to overhaul everything in my pantry. The result was instant

You can watch some of these and get inspiration from them.
Just tag me anywhere you are confused and we will look for alternative

Maangchi, souped up recipes( I actually use some of her cookware), spiceNpan( don't know if it's the correct pronunciation.
And if you have kids, they will love this as they will experiment with you.
You will see more as you navigate.
And I cook with sugar, honey and peanut butter sometimes. Surprised grin

Winter radish. Usually bigger than these. I got really big ones, blanched and froze in ziploc bags.

Got loads of inspirations from one family that live in one Chinese village( drunken Lee)
Even in the village, they know what a balanced meal is

You can decide to stop eating bread. My hubby is obsessed with bread, still fighting it. Just take your time.

Also, the pattern of eating matters a lot.
What to eat first, I mean.
In this order is how we should be eating most times(
Veggies first
Protein and oil
Carbohydrate.
Then dessert

Good ol' Santiago. I was there for two days earlier this month. It's definitely not my favorite city in South America (in general), but it's decent and Chile has a pretty reliable economy.

Also, the views of the Andes mountains are quite something. In early 2020, I spent 2 months in Santiago, right before covid lockdowns. I used to wake up to the sun rising from behind the Andes mountains, and that was by far my favorite thing about Santiago. My place was on the 29th floor too, so great views of it from my bed.

Funny enough I have never been to Santiago. Aside the airport. I live in Concepción. I should probably visit Chiloé this month. It's in the region closest to the Antarctica. My friend has been disturbing me to come visit her but I wanted going with my own money cause some of this people their brain dey touch sometimes grin grin

You can actually receive funds from overseas directly into your bank account in Nigeria using swift code and Iban but you can't send money from Nigeria except you have a domiciliary account

I am talking of your naira account not a dollar account. You don't need a dollar account to receive money in Chile with a swift code. The bank automatically converts the money to pesos in your account.

Hehehehee angel, whole wheat bread is not sweet o.
But he can pair his bread with drained canned sardine mixed with avocado mash. Very filling and sustaining. Any fish will do.
Lots and lots of cruciferous veggies and eggs.
Very important.

How are you?

It's no biggie actually provided you can give a verifiable reason for the transfer for AML/CFT checks by CBN

Haaaaaa,

Forgive me, it's been long I visited there.
How are you and family?
You be born chef so, I am not worried at all.
Just tag me when you experiment with somethings. That's all you need to know about radish. You are in America, you peel American winter daimon radish twice cos I watched in souped up recipes that it will taste bitter if you don't peel it that way. Don't know why as I peel mine here in uk once.

No country in this world has rich and variety if cuisines like China (dianxi xiaoge). Her channel is an eye opener

Wow. I tried to use that option when I was still working in Nigeria to receive money and it never worked. The banks should advertise that more. That's good o. So I can send money to my family in Nigeria with just the swift code of the bank and it will go.

Really cannot tell why it didn't work for you. Several factors may have been involved which I would not want to delve into here but yes you can send money to your family in Nigeria with their swift code and account number.

You should visit Santiago when you can, to have a more rounded perspective of the country.

That was actually how I receive payment for my writing gig then. Send the bank SWIFT's and ABA details to the sender who pays through his/her bank. The funds get converted automatically when in your account. Please the correct SWIFT details of that particular branch.

World Remit no dey work for that side?

It does but I actually prefer the bank account options for obvious tax reasons. It's easier to document and keep all those things.

APC has finished Nigeria completely. I am in talk with someone who is coming to chile and even after getting his residency, getting to board the flight was war. First of all, the airline was requesting a return ticket even though this person has a valid residency. Their reason being that a very high number of Nigerians are seeking asylum and refugee status in brazil. They land brazil and immediately seek asylum so Nigerian passengers are now considered high risk. Now even in brazil he was denied his boarding to chile. They claimed they have never seen his type of visa before which was a complete lie. I told the person that hes being discriminated against cause hes Nigerian.

I know brazil is a good country but seeking asylum in brazil. Why? They wont put you in a camp and give you free money and food like european countries o. Wahala dey o shocked shocked shocked

Funny enough, brazil is the best route to use to come but with this insistence on a return ticket when even just the one way ticket is close to 2 million naira. Hmm. You will need a transit visa to come through spain or the US and both countries will never issue you one ever.

This is the latest challenge getting to Chile from Nigeria especially if you want to fly TAAG Angola Airlines. It's actually because the Chilean Visa is not also a sticker visa, so they doubt it's authenticity even if it has all the details
