After working in my Groundnut farm, I decided to buy Fura da Nono #500 as my lunch meal. Fura da Nono is a popular food that is common in Northern Nigeria and Countries where Fulani herdsmen are found.

Nono is 100% Cow Milk. While Fura is made from Milet. Fura da Nono has a unique taste. It contains the same vitamins and minerals that, the Milk we buy in our markets contain.

How hygienic is this? I prefer doing it my way than buy what I don't know how it was prepared.

If you will only eat what is prepared in your presence. That means you won't eat a lot of things in this Country. From Mama put food shops, to fast food restaurants etc

It's been long I take Fura da Nono. I used to buy from one pretty Fulani girl. Her name is Aisha. She later got married. Since then, I've not had the urge to drink Nono again. But this drink too make sense.

what is the expected yield from one hectare of groundnut farm?

It depends the following factors.
1- Type of Groundnut: There are varieties of Groundnut and the seedlings. Each Groundnut have a purpose. Some Groundnut are not meant for producing Groundnut Oil. Cause it contain less Oil. These types of Groundnut is the type that is mostly sold as cooked or fried Groundnut.

There is another type of Groundnut that is mostly used for making Groundnut Oil. You can't cook or fry such groundnut. It doesn't even taste sweet due to the high level of Oil it contains.

2- Location: The location of your farm will also determine the quantity of Groundnut you can produce. Fertilizer is not used for groundnut. So, the land must be naturally fertile.

Southern Kaduna People produce Groundnut in commercial quantity. Cause their land is good for Groundnut. However, they mostly farm the Groundnut that is used for producing Oil. These groundnut are usually exported or processed in factories that produce Oil. Some local groundnut oil producers also use it to produce Oil.

Nasarawa also farm Groundnut in commercial quantity. They mostly farm the other type of Groundnut that is mostly cooked and fried.

4- How you care for your farm- Everything you farm needs care. You must keep weeds and pests away from your farm. The Groundnut needs regular weeding to keep weeds away. For good harvest, during weeding, you must use hoe to draw more soil to the Groundnut plant. This will enable it produce more nuts.

What kind of groundnut is that?
I mean, does it look different in comparison to the ones we eat?
Is it the same ones they use in making kuli-kuli?

Also, do they have to fry it before extracting the oil?

Wow! Thank you for showing me.

I've seen them before, but never knew they're not tasty.
Who would've known?

Maybe you should have a question and answer thread where people can ask you various questions about farming/agriculture. cheesy

You didn't answer one of my questions though.
Do they have to fry them before extracting the oil?
I like the nutty flavour roasting gives the oil.

If you are to make groundnut oil manually, you need to fry the Groundnut. It. But if you are using a machine to extract the oil, then you don't need to fry the Groundnut.

Here is a video of how I make Groundnut oil and the other video is how I make Kulikuli.

This thing was my go-to snack back in the day. Two times daily for six months, I consumed it religiously. Kai, real world commitments really change a person’s life. Back then, I had no worry of any sort.

My issue with such local drinks is it's Level of hygiene. If you have seen these people, they can use the brown dirty water on the road to bath and wash their Pots and Plates. Shey na such people I go get mind injest wetin dem prepare.

Let's not talk of the fact you still end up patronizing those who makes people cry
