The price of garri keeps increasing. A paint of garri is 4,000 naira.

Any cheap alternative to garri that one can use to eat soup?

Elubo. Elubo is around 1800 per paint whoesale price at my base

If not that Nigerians are not research minded, 200,000 Naira invested into cassava farming can provide a family of 5-8 with Garri, fufu and the likes for at least 4-7 months of daily consumption

Have you tried sawdust? It's free from the sawmill or 50 Naira per garawa depending on the wood quality.

Alternatively, grow your own cassava and make your own gari.

I don't think there's any cheaper alternative to Garri because many people believe Garri to be a poor man's food, so I can't think of anything else lesser. grin

It is well.
The way prices of foodstuffs are soaring is alarming.
On the average, N10,000 is not sufficient to feed a family of 5 three times daily anymore.
A modu of beans is now N2,500.
Price of a modu of rice is not jumping up and down.
Yam is now N3,000 per tuber.
Common pepper is being counted and sold 4 for N200.
A bunch of plantain is no go area.
Not foodstuff is cheap anymore.
I pity family that have up to 6 children.
This is not time for couples to have more than 3 children o.

Tinubu should open borders and flood the market with foodstuff from neighbouring countries.
Make Nigerians no come die of hunger.

If Nigerians were told that anybody would ever come and overtake Buhari in irresponsible leadership, they won't have believed..

See Garri and Beans fa🤔.. now beyond the reach of the common man.. There has never been any recorded period in modern history when Tomatoes would be unaffordable in the North. It's happening right now.

But Nigerians being super-resilient people would also survive this. I knew Nigerians would survive anything when they survived the cash crunch of Buhari and Emefiele.

And just so you know.. the first year of this administration is their best yet.. so everyone should brace up for impact. They have started Season 2 already. VAT about to be raised to 10%. Buhari it was that raised it to 7.5%. They still haven't got the memo that over-taxing an unproductive economy is counter-productive..🤔🤔

If you're in Abuja, I can make/produce and send to you a very nice swallow ( an alternative to garri), you would even prefer it to garri sef. It consists of cassava flakes, maize and few other things. It'll be properly processed and turned into a nice swallow you would love.

If you're interested, give me a PM.
