Merino is better than Zubi but he's not a pure DM but can do a job as a DLP...I actually don't rate Zubi at all. I even wanted Neves ahead of him sef. It'll be a great deal all round, I've always wanted to have one of merino or baena in my team provided the finances allow it, another reason why I'm glad with this links is that it helps take away the focus from kimmich, not saying he isn't a great player but we don't need him nor his high wages, look at how we're suffering with Lewandowski's

I'm not too enthused by this deal tho. Yes, it will aid us quickly build our financial muscle in the short term but long term it's not a good deal to me. 10 years is way too long for just €100-120mn per year. In 5 years time, that money would look very average and we'd be stuck for another half decade with such deal while other top teams get better deals. Unless the deal is renegotiated several years later to reflect current realities but the edge goes to Nike.

We were the highest paid kit holders some years back with this current Nike deal. Now, we're seeing how underpriced we are after COVID and FFP wrecked our financials.

Anyhow sha, good for us for next season and the next. Even if we somehow don't get to 1:1 rule, there's nothing Tebas can do to stop us from it in 2025. Our wage bill margin will still significantly improve even if we don't hit 1:1 rule this upcoming season. So things looking bright for us as well as a new coach and a rejuvenated La Masia delivering top talents every year.

Xavi might have been annoying for most of his time this season but one can't deny his impact on our youth. He's helped us generate a solid foundation to base our rebuild back to the elite. Dude did us a solid with Fermin, Lamine and Cubarsi.
He couldn't take us to the promise land but he was fundamental in leading the way. For this I'm grateful to him. Even tho his exit would have been in better circumstances, it was badly needed by us to get to the next level.
Good luck to him in his endeavours and coaching career. I feel that guy will grow really well in smaller teams like them Dortmund or Ajax or this world.

Yeah xavi has really helped in bringing us out of the trenches especially looking inwards to finding talents and making us believe in lamasia once again, unfortunately for him he wasn't high suited to a high profile job like Barça at the moment, getting more experience in tactics and working on his outbursts at smaller clubs with less pressure and media toxicity would help mold him into something greater
