Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by Sapasenator: 9:46pm On Jun 08 |
To combat insecurities, I think we should introduce a bill for a compulsory one year combat-military service for every male citizen 18-year and above. I am talking about real military training and hands on combat experience similar to what we had in the US. Everyone should pick up the gun and defend the motherland, we cannot allow few individuals to hold the country hostage. I also think NYSC should be scrapped as it has outlived it's usefulness. All those cult boys should be given weapons and sent to battle ground, are you willing to join the army if drafted? Military service is service by an individual or group in an army or other militia, air forces, and naval forces, whether as a chosen job (volunteer) or as a result of an involuntary draft (conscription). Some nations, such as Israel, require a specific amount of military service from every citizen, except for special cases, such as limitation determined by a military physical or religious belief. Most countries that use conscription systems only conscript men; a few countries also conscript women.[1] For example, Norway, Sweden, North Korea, Israel, and Eritrea conscript both men and women. However, only Norway and Sweden have a gender-neutral conscription system, where men and women are conscripted and serve on equal formal terms.[2] Some nations with conscription systems do not enforce them. Nations which conscript for military service typically also rely on citizens choosing to join the armed forces as a career.[3] Some nations with armed forces do not conscript their personnel (e.g. most NATO and European Union states). Instead, they promote military careers to attract and select recruits; see military recruitment. Some, usually smaller, nations have no armed forces at all or rely on an armed domestic security force (e.g. police, coast guard). Wikipedia 1 Like |

I said let me check and I wasn't surprised this came from a confirmed agbado bandit. You might think he's joking but don't be surprised. He's just flying a kite that will surely be supported by his fellow bandits while they sneak into Cotonou and Accra in the middle of the night 4 Likes |

MASTAkiLLAh: Is that all? You need some water? Jikwe nwayor! You will be drafted into the army whether you like it or not, you need to fight and defend your country. Similar model is in place in Swizerland and Isreal. 1 Like |

The children of the poor will provide a steady stream of casualty reports while the children of the rich & elite will remain safe. Neither will the north ever accept any bill that takes away their dominance of the army. Peter Obi has already outlined the best ways to checkmate insecurity in very practical terms, but someone said it was his turn. Criminals like Evans the kidnapper have previously confessed to relocating from Anambra to Lagos because Peter Obi made the entire State too hot for any sort of crime. Sapasenator: |

Sapasenator: Lol if you're drafted it's not a choice. The better question is are you willing to break the law. If the start drafting people they will have revolts like they never seen. |

Sapasenator: You break the law if you dodge the draft. You're asking for mandatory conscription. How exactly is that enforced without fines and jail time? |
Re: Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by Sapasenator: 11:30pm On Jun 08 |
Blue3k: You pay if you break the law, There will be specified punishment's. There will be exceptions for individuals that have medical conditions. |
Re: Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by Blue3k(m): 11:36pm On Jun 08 |
Sapasenator: Exactly, so the question is are you willing break the law by dodging the draft. Drafts aren't requests they're demands by the state. Lol anyone who doesn't want to fight will either flee the country, go to university or jail. This youth are already disgruntled as is. The End SARS riots might be a joke in comparison. |
Re: Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by Sapasenator: 11:40pm On Jun 08 |
Blue3k: I will flee if I do not want to be drafted or get a medical report of some " bonespur" illness like Donald Trump in the US who escaped the draft. But most people will definitely comply. We need to do something urgently about insecurities as farmers are even afraid to attend their farms. Food prices will hit the roof soonest |

Sapasenator: This youth are already disgruntled as is. The End SARS riots might be a joke in comparison. Forcing them on to the battle field to in other states is a bad idea. Volunteers military aren't volatile like unmotivated conscripts. There's always the option of liberalization of gun laws for civilians and decentralized police. I already laid out how the latter will essentially kill the farmers herdsmen issue on my most recent thread. Blue3k: |

Re: Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by poshestmina(f): 1:15am On Jun 09 |
Sapasenator: A very unrealistic idea or process. Not in this Nigeria ,not in the future Nigeria. People that were willing to die for the country died long ago and are some are still stuck dying without any benefit ,honor and the tiniest appreciation! Dead that thought .Even for #1m per month ,i won't let any of my close ones join Nigeria Military. |
Re: Compulsory One Year Military Service For Everyone by Sapasenator: 6:20am On Jun 09 |
poshestmina: In as much as I may agree with you if passed into law, patriotism will be the least of the requirements if govt insists. Also, I would recommend some forms of compensation adequate enough to entice people. It would be a very good training for our men. |
