SonofElElyonRet:* Yes. The bonus will rank parri passu with existing shares in all respect. * After markdown, I'll advice that you average down your holdings once the share price finds stability ------ PENDING when the bonus shares will be added to your CSCS/portfolio (if you're not the type that likes seeing -ve in your portfolio) * Then don't be in haste to rush out, keep for a peak period. This is where truck load of patience will be required as well......but I know you must be familiar with this bonus things. 1 Like

I thought SEC said they will release a framework for the re capitalization. At this rate, I sincerely hope these banks don't manipulate their way up to 500b... |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 7:26am On Jun 08 |
KarlTom:lol. If access succed in this RI alone, they would have met the 500b easily. And the dilution will even be of less impact since the it will only increase the majority holdings of the Ogas. The Ogas hardly sell on the floor of the exchange. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Omooloriredade: 7:27am On Jun 08 |
KarlTom: My 2 cents: #1 may eventually happen but not #2. The Over-The-Counter (OTC) platform which the NASD is, is a decentralised broker - dealer market to facilitate trade of securities in the lower-tier category. Entry requirements are usually low-level and reporting is not as stringent. Companies will usually "graduate" from the OTC to a centralised exchange like the NGX, JSE, LSE, NYSE, NASDAQ etc. You will often find low cap, start-ups etc listed here. Dual listing which you referred to offers a company exposure to investors across geographies. Eg NGX + JSE or NGX + LSE. In order words, international diversity. If I have managed to confuse you, please look up OTC so you understand why a stock can't be in secondary school and University at the same time especially in the same country. You may find a company in the main exchange in home country but on the OTC in another country though if it's can't meet the requirement for listing in the main exchange. Not in both at OTC and exchange at the same time. If you have qualified for main exchange, accept promotion and move on. 1 Like 1 Share |

Mfunkynation:okay. Thank you |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 8:52am On Jun 08 |
KarlTom: If a company lists on the NGX or any other foreign exchange.. It must delist from NASD-OTC if it's listed. (can't dual list with NASD-OTC) No company listed on NASD OTC is listed on any other exchange.. Hence the NASD-OTC is called an "unlisted exchange".. my 2 cents. 1 Like |

How does this Heritage Bank v FBNH saga affect minority shareholders like this? Proshare has been drumming 🥁 doomsday since 2019 but CBN remember to go collect bank licence after asking for recapitalization. |

Streetinvestor2: Despite the exchange gains they have realized, this is the best they can offer their long time investors, this is not good. The stock is being diluted, yet they are offering it at a price higher than the average market value. Let me chill and observe whether the laws of supply and demand will not affect this stock. I am almost sure that if you exercise patience, you will be able to get this stock for less than 15 Naira once the RI dust settles. 5 Likes |

ositadima1:You dey mind yeye people. I wish they could manipulate the price to touch #25 so I can cash out my remaining afolabi units..The only bank I hope to keep now is uba because Tony is tinubu man but if I see good price I will cash out..Then zenith because I like the #4 dividend and hoping they can still pay it even if no increase. I see it as just another good cash flow and will equally cash out if I see one kind price. I haven't decided for gtbank. I was not impressed with the last dividend 5 Likes |

The current inflation is inevitable, unavoidable, and undesirable, but a necessary means of balancing the economy and addressing the unsecured and looted ways and means debts of the past administrations and aggressive correction embarked upon by the incumbent. In the light of this, I will maintain my buying position in all dividend-paying stocks and opt more for bonus-issuing stocks, invest same way as if there is no RI and inflation. The recapitalization of banks through rights issues (RI) may lead to the massive dilution of outstanding shares and RI contagious effects on all quoted companies, potentially causing lower than current share prices across the NGX by mid-2026 to late 2027. This shouldn't be interpreted as timing the market. This assertion is based on tangible and intangible extrapolation of Nigeria's social and political economics. Kudos to those NGX, TB, and long-term bond investors who remain steadfast and enduring in these uncertain times and unpredictable future. In other words, "Be fearful when others are greedy for RI, be greedy after RI" The ultimate inflation and RI hedges? keep investing as if there is no RI and inflation. 1 Like |

Mankind2024: This administration is still accumulating debts. Aren't you aware of this? Subsidies are still being paid on refined products. Aren't you aware of this as well? There are discrepancies between what we buy at filling stations and the landing costs. We have never experienced such high food price hikes before. Some claim it is due to increased criminal activities and increased transportation costs. The looting of public funds cannot be stopped in this administration or the next one. We only get to find out the extent of the looting after an administration leaves office, and this one will not be different. Please, examine these carefully, and I hope that you are not reasoning from a place of political bias, and privilege that many other suffering Nigerians do not have. 9 Likes 1 Share |
