grin grin You actually think all the people that are japa'ing really have 15 - 20 million Naira? grin Newsflash, most people get "creative" when it comes to proof of funds... I am not going to say more than that in order not to cause problems for others who are intending to japa.

but they still spend some millions getting to their destination despite finding a way around the proof of funds which obviously most average Nigerians cannot afford

So developed countries dont subsidised?

No developed nation on Earth subsidises the way Nigeria does... Not one!

I might be wrong, and I stand to be corrected, but this level of subsidy we do in Nigeria will never enable us attain the peak of human capital development (coupled with our shocking level of corruption).

Up till now we haven't been able to recover from fuel subsidy removal (and we won't recover fully in a decade).

Even our taxing system is ridiculously low and barely enforced.

Haven't you wondered why so many Nigerians complain bitterly whenever they relocate to developed nations?!!

The places they are running to, they would still need to work their ass off because no free things even in Freetown.

I am not discouraging those who want to Japa oo, but before you Japa, make sure you have degree/certificates that could earn you jobs immediately you arrived at your destination, have skills about things that can fetch you money.
The difference between here n there is that

Nobody go owe you
You get paid for hrs worked
You eat n sleep well without generator noise
Enjoy good roads to n from work

Brother, I don’t disagree with you that life abroad is not a bed of roses.

There is a price for living in a developed and flourishing nation... You have to put in the shift, you have to grind!

That's why you count your costs and prepare well before boarding that plane! No one is there waiting to fund your lifestyle.

That doesn't make it bad! Matter of fact, it simply creates more responsible citizens who live within their means.

The way Nigerians are shouting Japa Japa Japa and people are selling their stuff they got in years only to come here again struggling to start afresh and mostly stuck after exhausting everything

Even the citizens would have been feeling the heat if not benefit payment they get from government.

No it is not. My Canadian PR is being processed (Express Entry), I will be doing medicals and biometrics this month... it is NOT 15 - 20 million Naira for the processing. The whole processing fees cost around CAD$1,450

cococandy:

I know they do that but the actual cost of the process is around that range minus the proof of funds part

US don't value your cert or skill set. But you can get any of these ASAP in the US, if you are legally.
Even Amazon delivery driving job, many would pay up to 5k for your tuition if you want skill or cert. So you work, get paid, chose your time and get a skill or cert. Many company will also employ you as apprentice. Pay you and train you, while you get your licence
But I tell you, there countless job opportunities that can pay you above $100k a year.
are you saying there are jobs available in US and immigrant don't complain of no jobs?

I'm just saying that selling all your stuff for sturdy visa is ONE way to move
there are many many other ways to move, but our ppl always go for the low hanging fruit
Going via which means?
Because you listed one and it was 1million dollars requirement and anyone that has such money won't be fighting hard to get visa and settlement permit in most developed countries.

If u know when men don de apply for visa.. USA, Canada Australia etc

Some of the money they spend isn't theirs... it is borrowed.

as someone who used to earn way over ten times minimum wage before moving to the UK, I ha e lived both sides and I'll tell u that quality of life wise, especially as a single person, even 13 times naija minimum wage cannot match £12 quid an hour earner in the UK, especially if you are not living in London

Forget it
being able to buy sharwarma and suya for girls, flexing over the weekend and fooling yourself in shop rite no be quality of life lemme not lie you

Not hearing generators noise alone sef
noise pollution
safety concerns
envious people around you
the list is endless abeg

No mind them my brother. Me wey dey earn a meager 15 times Nigeria minimum wage monthly, if I no japa, weti I gain. Weti I wan do with 450k in Nigeria?

I will rather stay hungry to save my japa money than follow people wey no get direction dey shout Nigeria will be good Nigeria will be good. They should keep deceiving themselves. Some will even tell you not to japa if you are making 450k monthly.

I am still broke with that 450k due to Nigeria hardship.

Those ones will learn the hard way...!

Anyone who is smart will not do that.

Canada express entry for instance gives you the time and space to plan and prepare well for future permanent residency.

Anyone entering any nation as a permanent resident is already on track to succeeding if he is serious.

Those desperately using student route or asylum will fall into the deplorable area you are describing.

Any guarantees that you may even live long enough to have generations?

Nigeria currently has 1 million unofficial ways to die.

In all sincerity, would you prefer your children to be born in Nigeria where there is no equal opportunity or future or security??
Would you rather hear they were kidnapped in one night? What are you really gaining being in Nigeria? Or just answering Nigerian. Do you know you can’t even travel to Dubai and will struggle to get as low as Indian visa. As for me I took my whole family to Canada and my only regret is not leaving earlier

Dorm account is scary Sha. I predict that Tunubu will shut down dorm accounts soon. The best would have been crypto but unfortunately a lot of exchanges are shutting down naira peers. I think only bybit still has naira/usdt pair but I doubt it will last longer.

Chei, see delusional ambition that force gullible folks abroad. He is more pained that he cannot lead Nigeria because he is Igbo. How many Benin, Igbira, Ibibibio or Efik etc have led Nigeria!

Igbo have not only led Nigeria, they have led World Court, World Health Organization(s), West East and other countries in various fields. Check you history bro.

I think you should be more worried about Eru, Oru, Osu all over Nigeria that made success out of themselves unlike in Europe and America.

What is this one talking about ?

Heck, there are white bus drivers in Suffolk who think they are superior (in their delusion) to Rishi Sunak, somebody who went to Winchester oooo.

but the opportunities available to people who are ready to put in their all here is limitless. You just need to put in the work.
By virtue of my ethnic group in Nigeria (igbo) I am already on that ground alone disqualified to lead Nigeria in the minds of a significant part of the population .
why then should I worry about what a hungry white person thinks about me here when even in my country of origin people are still tribalistic towards me

Suella Braveman, Kevin Badernoch, Rishi Sunak, Priti Patel, Savii Javid, Kwasi Kwarteng and the list goes on and on all got to the pinnacle of the British society despite being minorities

Mo Ibrahim and Strive Masiyiwa are billionaires in pounds in this same UK
what of the many multimillionaire blacks that are just hiding themselves ?
or the many Indian billionaires families here

forget all that talk u are talking

Children no food, house rent etc no de.

This is someone in a managerial position back in Nigeria. He has developed high blood pressure.

The hurrible shift jobs I do, I won't do that in Nigeria. But we have to encourage our self and move on.

Let me break it down to u... Can u stand 12hours cleaning with just 15 minutes break all night. Or all day. That's you won't sit down. Sitting down your supervisor will report as u are unfit for the job. And this job no de come always

See Japa no easy oh

As I de type now I de go shift go work under cold and will do the job. Standing all through under minus degree.

There's nowhere in the world minimum wage gets anyone a decent apartment. You people seem to misunderstand what minimum wage is meant for.
