Seems high profile top production quality animation is on the rise in Hollywood. Mostly in the TV series format.

More food for me. Hollywood has been too focusing on those long @ss sitcoms for the animation genre asides from the regular generic animation films we get from them Pixar, Disney, Universal.

Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura.....6.5/10

Nice battle anime, good fights. Basic story. Guess I didn't enjoyed this one as much as I would cos I painfully downloaded the English dub.

Watching something not in an original language makes the experience weird for me.

Although, it's piqued my interest of watching either of the anime shows. I've always wanted to watch them but didn't know which one to choose.
In my head, it was Kengan Ashura I'd go for cos it seems less crazy and ridiculous as Baki.
I'm more interested in seeing this Baki and his dad story tho. Especially that shΓ―t he killed Baki's mom that time.
where did you download it from?

Exhuma 2024.

Kdrama + Supernatural Horror = A good mix!

A wealthy family is seemingly cursed and they implore the help of a shaman and a geomancer who links the "said curse" to the vengeful spirit of their grandfather, they exhume the corpse to appease, but baba granny had a decade long score to settle and he wasn't having any appeasing but that was even the least of the problem, because in exhuming baba granny's corpse, the shaman and the geomancer unearths something more sinister and angrier with a century worth of score to settle that ties up to the Japanese occupation of Korea, turning it into a bone chilling, horror visual spectacle with genuine scares as opposed to the clichès usually done by American horror flicks.

The acting is so strong, lead by Veteran Choi Min-sik from Oldboy and a chance to see Kim Go-eun do a sexy shaman exorcism dance!. The writing was also good, so good that the whole thing actually looks plausible in real life , and you'd almost forget this is infact a fantasy supernatural horror flick.

Good Good Horror flick for the neutrals πŸ‘πŸΏ

They've learnt from anime that animation can be used to tell stories for adults...

But they're not there yet. Still a way to go

Revisiting my thoughts in the upcoming DC films... It's looking good for DC overall both for the TV and film department with what James Gunn is doing and the calibre of filmmakers, writers and showrunnners he's amassing.

The quality and diversity of the slate is what I'm impressed about. All inclusive, big time characters, obscure characters/teams and once popular characters getting back to the limelight. There's something for everyone. Different characters and style and with different tones. Dark, gritty, broody, noir. Then there's the fun, silly, witty, quirky, light hearted characters and stories.

DC might just be great again.

Double Lover---2017; In this French erotic/psychological/horror film,a young woman experiencing a mental breakdown begins consulting a respectable & wholesome psycho-analyst (professionally & later romantically) but she quickly realizes he is not who he first appeared to be.

Amber Midthunder is hot. My type of girl. I'm checking her out. To the movie, why make the hunters confront the enemy with primitive weapons when you know the thing is highly advanced? I see no reason why the heroine and her colleagues stood less a fighting chance against a dreadful monster. In real life, I doubt if they will survive the predator. He will finish all of them by merely being invisible. It ought to be 50/50 or at least 60/40. Make the contest be a bit even. It look foolish facing a killer creature with low tech guns on one end and bows and arrow at another end

No lies detected!!

Nowadays we have numerous prestige TV to watch. If there are no movies TV shows that can match movies toe to toe in production value is plentiful this period. So not much people are compelled to the theatrical experience.

Imagine top tier projects like THE BOYS, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, RINGS OF POWER, ARCANE, PENGUIN, DUNE: SISTERHOOD all coming out later this year. Following each other back to back.

Also, TV screen technology going through serious improvement and evolution like 4K TVs and better IPS LED display etc and great sound system, you're good to go man...all in your house! πŸ˜ƒ

Sorry man for the bn.

True, nothing still beats the theatrical experience. Still remember when I watched The Batman in cinema in 2022, I've downloaded the film when it released digitally but not much incentive to watch it on a smaller screen. And preserving the memory I have of it. Will still rewatch it someday, but prolly not this year.

Yeah, TV technology has peaked to me. There's nothing to sell anymore asides from experimenting with new tech like QLED, Mini-LED, Laser tech, etc with the promise of higher brightness and contrast with top tier colours & deep blacks. Na just screen sizes dey increase. Me I'm not even sure I can stand anything above 55". The thing is these tech are not even cheap or easily accessible if you're not in a developed country or a highly industrialized one.
Cos I know majority of homes in Naija don't even have 4K TVs talkless of Mini-LED, OLED, QLED and co that are all expensive as fvvk with additions like Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ etc Na Full HD (1080p) with good IPS LED displays we dey consume even for smart TVs.

Only the rich and entertainment buff might be will to go all out for those mouth watering specifications.

8K na more or less gimmick to me like this with it's slow adoption rate and massive costs. Even hearing Euro 2024 being broadcast in FHD doesn't even give confidence because the organisers couldn't afford the extra cameras and expense for 4K broadcast. Na TV manufacturers like Hisense e go touch pass sha since they love to spend huge on marketing for new change of TVs every major football event.
