But dis finidi record worse gan ….just 2competitive games and he was relieved of his post …dts d shortest reign ever as a super eagles coach 🥹🥹🥹
If we were at last World Cup, this very Finidi would never smell potential list as takeover or top manager. Nff has messed up because missing out twice will be some very heavy shakedown.

We can only hope for best losers spot. Thank goodness, our group is made up of six teams. We stand a chance if we manage to garner at least 15 points

Never ,with a good coach and good team selection we shld be able to defeat

Rwanda 🇷🇼 (home and away) 6points

Benin 🇧🇯 at uyo (3points)

Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 at uyo (3points)

And Lesotho 🇱🇸 at a neutral venue (3points)

South Africa 🇿🇦 (we shld aim for a win also, but realistically this match might end up in a score draw)

So I am expecting 16points from d so called technocrats

If we can’t beat dis teams…we don’t deserve to be in World Cup , and we shld be considered as minnows in Africa 😎

Right now, we are in Calculator Mode and i dunno if you've thought about it, but this very Amunike CAN'T win 5/6 of the remaining games left to give us any iota of hope right now. There are many others that NFF know too that are good. Besides, being out of the job for a some time is a problem imo. It is what it is.

No problem now. Conceicao can win 5/6 games abi. So Conceicao should be.

Don't worry yourself, he has taken the job. It was about forcing the Sports Ministry to bring out money for a foreign coach.

That is why they always kick against Amunike.

I want to advice that the new coach take up more friendlies with Africa opposition.. e get why..

That is exactly what Finidi did. Play the best to expose your weaknesses. Tough European teams will expose us like Portugal did.

Captain or no Captain, Musa was clubless and had no reason being invited. That is far worse than inviting Taminu. At least Taminu was not clubless and why should a player without a club remain captain?
I wasn't in support of Musa's prolonged invitations even though it were for off the pitch reasons,
but seriously do you honestly want to compare Musa's quality to Taminu, clubless or not?

4) Notwithstanding the challenges that attended the team’s preparations for the Day 3 and Day 4 games of the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, owing to a 38-hour nationwide industrial action, the Board expressed displeasure with the poor attitude of some of the players to the National Assignment, and unanimously decided in favour of a more robust scouting programme of outstanding Nigeria-eligible players from across the four corners of the universe, who can add tremendous value to the nation’s flagship team.

The NFF released a 7 point agenda communique and this part I posted (#4) got my attention...if what I read is what it's implying to be, then it means A LOT of the players on this current team aren't safe...the new NFF board and foreign technical adviser might start preparing a new team of dedicated and serious minded players from across Europe and back home who will be ready to give their all when the next qualifiers start. The report that most players in this team disrespected Finidi begins to make more sense when you consider how some of them (won't mention names) arrived late to camp and opted for vacations and partying over training.

You already showed how horrendous Musa's invitation is and why it can't be compared to Taminu's recruitment.

You said your self that a position for a player to help the team on the field reason was used to pick a player for "off-the-field" reasons.

Do you see how ridiculous Musa's call up was?

How can you compare that to Taminu's recruitment?

We are reflecting on one of the most ridiculous callups in the history of Super Eagles and I am pointing out how terrible a decision a foreign coach can make. Before people try to paint Foreign coaches as never do wrongs.

Desire is a very perceptive led deduction not an objective one, so l will not even talk about it.

I don't think you want to compare two different generations of football, it's too problematic.

What l will say is our players in 1994 , were on top of the game playing in the top teams of Europe. We had Amunike and one Gbenga who both played for Barcelona.

Ajax was a European football ⚽ powerhouse then and we had several players that went through Ajax.

Now just like almost everything else in Nigeria we have regressed badly.
So u admit that those teams in the past that comprises of only players born in Nigeria are better than this current team that is mixed right?

That everything else in Nigeria have regressed is not an excuse, and it's not true.

We have artistes born locally here in Nigeria making waves globally, hitting more success, some of them winning Grammy awards, the topmost award in the global music industry, unlike in the past.
whether the music our artistes play today is of better quality than before is a topic for another day,
but in this state of affairs in Nigerian, they were able to achieve so much.

The same with our athletes,
Tobi Amusan is,or probably the best female hurdle athlete in the world.
Favour Ofili is coming up and proving herself to be among the best female athlete in the world.
our female athletic team is a potential Olympic medal winning team.

I believe our football team can achieve success also even in this present Nigerian condition when the right people will find themselves in charge.

Musa's invitations was wrong but his invitation was not in any way affecting our performances because he wasn't playing.
But we are talking about inviting and starting an undeserved rookie ahead of more qualified players in Europe, which reduced our defense overall confidence.

Musa robbed the likes of Nathan Tella and Childera Ejuke a chance for call up. We are talking of a player without a club and not in action at all making the Super Eagles team. It is far worse than Taminu's invitation.

Like I’m defending Finidi. It’s the belief that any white coach will just take over and succeed that stinks for me.

But it’s obvious dis job is bigger Dan finidi ,I tot he could handle d pressure dt comes with d job,but I was wrong.his aura sef doesn’t ooze confidence like someone who is ready to take charge

The call ups is not the only factor for some of their failures. If it was, Keshi won’t have been successful.

How about Shehu?
Wasn’t Sadiq’s invite questionable? White coaches have their preferences too.

Napoleon55:

Rohr,Peseiro or any other foreign coaches wouldn't have called up all those jokers that Finidi invited in place of better defenders in Europe,at least.
Not that is a garantee that foreign coaches will give us success but local coaches are less trust worthy especially when it comes to corruption.

Siasia is my most preferred local coach, with five years contract,Siasia will give us at least one AFCON.

The Black Busquets/Rodri has arrived in La Liga.

Can't wait for his debut and subsequent games to follow afterwards. 💥✅️

ChrisKels:
Pair him with Onyedika or you pair Onyedika with Onyeka. Ndidi should go to the bench.

I have an old time football administrator who writes on football in Nigeria, knows the ins and outs of the NFF, who came up with this exact thought immediately the NFF confirmed Finidi over Amunike. He didn't wait for Finidi's first game, he immediately sent me his write up and said this is part of the NFF's plan.

He said he has proof that some of them admitted Amunike is better qualified than Finidi but went with Finidi based on an agenda they had.

Truth is they knew Finidi will fail.

Now, here we are today.

elyte89:

It’s looking more like a premeditated move, more like employing finidi knowing fully well dt he might mess up to create a back strong claims for foreign coach .

Another calamity waiting to happen indeed. Finidi whom you recommended turned out to be the actual calamity.

Just rest. You are just miss, miss, miss on this topic.

Someone that could not qualify the under 20 will do worse

To hell with all this clamour for indigenous coaches

This indigenous coaches can get a national team job in small countries like Liberia so why gamble with them with the super eagles job?

2 of those losses came against the eventual Finalists, Senegal and Algeria.

How many games did Tanzania win to get to the last Afcon? Lol

And lost all the 3 matches at afcon?

How many matches did he win to qualify them for afcon? And if not for the extended format to 28 teams, I am sure Tanzania won't have qualified....please prove me wrong

When you surround yourself with mediocrity day in day out in terms of training and actual game time; it tends to mess with your thinking. When you see quality you cannot recognize it. That’s the unfortunate scenario finidi found himself.
