TheGoodJoe:

I agree with the bolded but feel Kelechi Nwakali needs to be in the squad and pairing him with Onyedika needs to be experimented. Would like to see that in a friendly. But if we are not playing possession game, we have to shelve the idea.

I believe possession play is the way to go for the Super Eagles. I have seen enough of the "Rushians tactic" and I disagree with the Senior Super Eagles players that is the ideal way to go.

Onyedika and Nwakali, everybody have seen what both are capable when you talk of passes and shooting with precision.

I think the possessive way is the best for us and working with our best passes is the best way to achieve this. If that is the case, Onyedika and Kelechi Nwakali need to be experimented playing together.

Players that are strong while holding unto the ball, good passer and capable of dribbling also comfortable on the ball. I agree with you Abeg

One of the top reasons I wanted both gone. Both had their positives and gave us joy in moments but both are poor in player profiling and a coach who is poor in that aspect cannot get the very best out of the Super Eagles.

But the fact that both went and Finidi came now make both look like Max Allegri and Sir Alex Ferguson. Rohr to Jpes and then to Finidi was an annoying art in coaching appointment downgrade.

TheGoodJoe:
Imagine Rohr and Peseiro could see a player like Onyedika and not identify he is a good talent.

Onyedika and Nwakali together will inevitably click like they have been playing for decades. When the right profile of a player executes a role alongside another player profile that complements superbly based on playing style and attributes alone, it is easy to know how things will pan out.

Onyedika/Nwakali midfield will be akin to watching a true midfield clinic in session... but ofcos.... none of the coaches coming close to the Super Eagles job since the time of Rohr has the brains or tactical mind for it.

If Antonio Conceicao is the man then fine, but he will only earn my respect by first coming in to stamp his authority on this bunch of overpampered players, no look person face or what club he plays for, if any player isn't up to it then DROP his azz. Infact he should start by weeding out deadweights like Ndidi, Iheanacho, Awaziem etc and others in that order who just come to camp to make up numbers. There's no basis for seniority anymore, you've got to earn your place. Now that NFF are serious about embarking on a concerted scouting programme for players across Europe etc who are eligible to represent the team, then they should also plan serious friendlies against top countries during the next available windows before the AFCON qualifiers start in September. We can use those friendlies to invite 90% of those new players. Time to see new faces like Elijah Adebayo, Chuba Akpom, Dominic Solanke (surely he should be considering Nigeria at this point in his career), Nathan Tella (needs to be fully accessed), Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (we need to see more of him in a midfield of new players), Felix Agu,Kingsley Ehibizue, Njinmah, Osho, Jordan Torunarigha, Akpoguma, Ndah, Gift Orban and any other Naija eligible player out there in those friendly games. Not forgetting others like Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka and Madueke if they want to take a shot at real international football and a world cup chance.

Antonio Conceicao can them have an idea of which players he can integrate into his full roster for depth when the AFCON qualifiers start, those AFCON games will show what depth and quality we can build ahead of the tense WCQ games next year. There's still enough time to fix the current mess Finidi has left us in, but NFF have to show they mean business by being proactive: announce the new technical adviser/coach, start an expansive scouting programme for players across Europe as soon as possible, and then schedule friendly games ahead of time.

Abi how you take see am?

Honestly I feel the bible was referring to your kind when it says: in the multitude of councilors, there is safety. You submissions are always apt and correct

I see a lot short gigs. Several backwater league titles. And an AFCON bronze several of our indigenous coaches have matched or even bettered.
Just a journey man experienced but lacking the profile good enough for a country like Nigeria. We can do far better.

A proven one will cost us more …I doubt if nff can go for any coach dt will demand above $50k monthly

Conceicao is a $50k monthly coach

Come back and tell me when Cameron has struggled to qualify for WC besides Russia 2018. WC is like their birth right. I will attribute it to their spirit during those qualifiers. Granted they are shitty at the WC proper.

Give the man his flowers Biko... the fact he lost only twice out of 24 games, winning 14 and drawing 8 is a decent CV to me

The problem is that we are a defeated people. Healthy pride is when you know your worth and make decisions with a healthy sense of self worth. Foolish pride is dragging with South Africans and Ghanaians that you are better than them, but your decision making shows inferiority complex
