All of dem sabi themselves. They cahoot together and push agendas together and all that crap. Pr merchants than actual journalism too. So if it has come home to roost, good for them cos you'll be surprised at the blindness behind their pr for some players. Plus the bigman players thing is true whether the whole gist is false or true. I hope this noise dies and we face business again. But as each day passes, this WCQ is looking bleak and I'm preparing my mind for a 2nd absence as it stands.

All living on old hype and pr. Plus the delusions that playing is same as coaching. Heck, it's even affecting the European ballers too. Na dem wey no wan add to cv e no go kon affect? Especially man management. I wish Don Carlo dey do midnight lessons make these local guys go learn at his feet. All dey fall hand plus let's not rule out the "being compromised early one" aspect too.

Theoretically,
A coach takes 250k in 2010 from a kid and 6years later said kid is now playing in Europe, it will be hard for said coach, especially if he was mean then to get respect from that kid. Not to talk of the talented bitter ones denied slots because they don't have kola to wet hand.

Drew our first two matches already threw the team in a tight situation and Finidi come spoil everything….Peseiro threw in the towel cuz he knew no way out cuz there is no way playing negative football can guarantee you WC ticket…..Afcon final deceived many o

I've been saying this consistently in the last few days in the wake of Finidi's calamitous showing.

I supported Eguavoen. I supported Finidi.

But no more abeg. Our players don't respect local coaches.

So for me this is the only reason why we should get a foreign coach. Without authority even a competent coach will fail. With authority even a fool may succeed.

This guy is not qualified in anyway and I doubt he will ever be even for the U17 squads.

Would have loved for him to stay a bit longer though and try to save his reputation. Now everybody will always remember him as the guy who lost to Benin Republic in a WC qualifier.

Many will blame the NFF for hiring him in the first place but I think his employment was justifiable.

Poor knowledge of tactics failed him. The argument that he didn't have time to get used to the team is a bad one since he served as an assistant coach on this same team during the AFCON, watching them at close range. Any coach worth his salt would have transited seamlessly into the head coach role.

Good riddance anyways. If he knows what's good for him, he should go on some coaching refresher courses before taking his next gig because he clearly still has a lot to learn tactically.
Finidi's mistake walahi was his changing from Peseiro's tactics. Now this is not to say Peseiro's tactics was the best.

Thing is that the players just 4 months ago immersed themselves into that system. Finidi should not have abruptly changed into tiki taka mode.

Trying to play tiki taka don finish Finidi. He should have used Peseiro's tactics to get us over the line first before switching tactics.

Playing defensively against SA is understandable. Against Benin, it would have been very shameful to do so with the massive gulf in quality between our players and theirs.

I honestly don't know what to blame. Our players looked quite lackluster, the general team play wasn't clicking.....a lot of things were off but parking the bus was definitely not an option.

Atletico Madrid is largely considered a defensive team. But do you think they will play defensively against relegation zone teams in Spain?

Some of the takes here are very disappointing. I am one of Osimhen's biggest fan and I can count in my fingers how many of his games I didn't watch the last 2 years, but what he did wasn't just unprofessional, it was wrong.

This is without bearing to whether Finidi said what he did or not (it's being reported he didn't even say those things). Finidi is a legend in his own right and has earned the right not to be disrespected like this talk less from a player like Osimhen.

I know we like him and we tend to excuse his nutty behaviour, but its beginning to look like a pattern of bad behaviour. He did same to Victor Ikpeba for having an opinion and many of you praised then. He did same with Napoli when he deleted all Napoli related pictures from his profile. He had to later release a statement, but the deed had been done. Do you know he was booed in the last game of the season? How can one go from becoming a hero one season and becoming a villain the very next? It is because he hasn't learnt to curb the his emotions l; the same emotions he deploys to give everything on the pitch.

Sadiq had a similar experience just a few months ago and he released a statement to clarify. Osimhen and Finidi are not mate and as a player he hadn't achieved close to what Finidi has. He is rich and can get away with many things, but it speaks poorly of his values.

And osimhen is a dedicated player ,he is not the guy that will fake injury to avoid playing for his country
I agree,
his outburst was extreme for an active professional footballer.

There is a better way he should have passed his massage and expressed his grievances ,
obviously he may no longer interested in playing for Nigeria.
He may probably get sanctioned if he continued so others won't follow suit,
and this whole scenario may affect his commitment to the national team engagements

Until you guys understand that Parking bus is not success, you will still leave in the illusion that it is.

We were dross at the AFCON and were just a park bus team to the best of my knowledge.

Team wise, we.were.not growing.
Ohhh quiet Mr theory. He's right. That you like one brand of football over another does not make that brand of football the best.

Possession football every time. You won't allow us rest. Despite my railings against tiki taka, I like possession football but that's not to say there aren't other viable styles of playing the game.

Has any country ever played football more beautifully than Brazil? Yet after Italy used their defensive philosophy to oust Brazil in 82, Brazil had to inject some park the bus philosophy into their traditional samba football.

Tiki taka is not better than any other brand of football. Say you prefer the anesthetics (which for me is poison) of tiki taka.

At all times, you'd have to be pragmatic. Have you considered if playing defensively could have been used as a bait to draw them in and use it to hit them hard on the counter?

Osimhen is one player nobody can question his determination and patriotism.
However, he was wrong for doing that live video. He might make another one to publicly apologize sha. He is a professional and all these 'portable' behaviours don't befit him. Even, if he wanted to go live at all, he should have restricted his talks to why he couldn't make it for the qualifiers. Attacking Finidi is just irrational.

Leave that theorist. I like beautiful football wella. In fact just by my idols of the game - Maradona, Zidane, Figo, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Zamorano, Owen, Ronaldo de Lima, Bergkamp, Maldini, Baggio - you will know that I love beautiful football but we must salute the Peseiro's pragmatism which wasn't even planned because it's something he kinda stumbled on right in the thick of Afcon.

shebi we have better players than osihmen, let's go ahead and ban him from the national team. Hypocrites we are, the other day some of us questioned the attitude of an iwobi and we were told not to go there, now we should all crucify osihmen, nonsense.

If those cases of lack of discipline reported those days were to be now, you would have seen a different picture, but we believed everything said by the coaches and NFF about those players accused because those players never had the avenue to speak up. Thank God for social media today biko
Are u saying that he would have cleared his name this way if it were to be Napoli?

There was time he was insulted by Napoli, why did he not express his displeasure this way?

What Finidi said was wrong and damaging but there are better ways and more professional way to handle such things.
