Why are you contradicting the president's message, are you sure you're okay?
Anyway, this is an indication that the citizens haven't sacrificed enough. More is likely coming ahead, braze yourself everyone.

The fuel subsidy wrecked the economy. Removing it was a bold action needed to redirect the economy towards a more productive one.
The ensuing inflation is the reason why every president before him chickened out from doing it. The economy can only grow from now, stronger and more resilient than before.
He didn't ruin the economy, he rescued it from total collapse.

When the said govt can't even pay 100k as minimum wage! So where is the subsidy money going?

Oh, now I remember, it is used in empowering those in government!

It did. It was like a bribe to keep Nigerians happy while things were actually going bad.
It was mismanagement when you spent billions subsidizing fuel consumption while more important sectors like agriculture were virtually neglected.
The results are what you are seeing today when any little changes can throw the economy off.
It got so bad that all our refineries were dead and we had to import fuel!
We simply can't continue like that. If all the money spent subsidizing fuel was spent on Agriculture we would have excess food to export by now rather than cries of hunger everywhere.

Why then did your drug lord and his cohorts protest its removal during Jonathan's tenure? A time when the Nigerian economy would have been better suited to chest the effect of its removal?

A good leader should be able to carry the citizens along and make them understand his decisions.
If Jonathan failed in doing that whose fault is it.

Tinubu has been able to articulate the reason behind the subsidy removal. Whether you accept that or not is your cup of tea.
I understand the rationale behind it and the fact that there were no better alternatives. All the candidates promised to remove the subsidy, it was a unanimous decision.

The same PO that was encouraging the citizens to suffer for naira swap policy. Same people, different banners
Racoon:
They refused to cut down cost of governance. Tinubu has the most bloated govt cabinet in history. Took a large wasteful delegation to UNGA(including his son, ashawo-seeking govt officials to New York). They are busy with institutionalized corruption with some govt officials, Ministers and many customs senior officers indicted in corruption but no retributive justice done.

Meanwhile, this same hawks in government are padding budgets, eating/travelling with billions, subsidising hajj with 90B, buying presidential yatch/jet, renovating VP Lodge with #21B. Yet they can't pay workers a decent minimum wage in the heat of their self-inflicted miserable economic woes. Wicked souls

Lolz. You guys tho.

From your statement, you must have been born after 2012. You must have been born after 2012 or you must be plain ignorant for you not to know that this same idiot forming Messiah now was the same person who funded and spearheaded protests to stop these same subsidies being removed more than 12 years ago. By now, we would not have the same rot in the system you so 'eloquently' speak of.

But now, when he is president, it is suddenly so urgent to remove those same subsidies, crash the economy in the way he has gone about it. Oh. That doesn't matter. Afterall, why should it, when he has settled himself and his family and all the people who would have spoken out and so they are all insulated from the effects.

And you useful idiots will come out and begin to spill trash as if he is the best thing that happened iced cream. Smh. Sorry. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so damned ignorant.

It's actually unfortunate when some nigerians can not differentiates when to think or reason. I know you are not a goal getter otherwise you will understand the difference between Jonathan regretting his then actions for not consulting well b4 taken that decision and Tinubu actions that he stands with it. We need no arguments, Tinubu Is above the class of any of the past presidents in progressive governance. Nigerians will always complain for anything, the good bad and ugly. Anyway you can't know since you're not in the class.

I disagree, Mr. President. What sacrifice is the NASS making by increasing it's budget by over 70% between last year and this year? When will the legislooters make sacrifice to inspire the masses do the same. While the people are sacrificing to the bones the legislooters are living in opulence riding the latest 2024 SUVs. They are not even feeling the inflation because they have cornered the nations resources for themselves. Same applies to all politicians at the federal, state and local govt levels. What new infrastructure does the nass build to demand such humongous appropriation if not to milk the country dry. Mr. President, you must address the cost of governance starting with the legislature.

Which nonsense Mr President? Don't you know his name again? You have eaten enough to be use such here...mtcheew

For once, I kinda agree with the BAT. Citizens at all levels need to make sacrifices for the country to progress. Let's start from the top - Presidency, Senate, Governors, Ministers, Traditional Rulers, Heads of Parastatals. They are also citizens right? 🙂
