BlueRayDick: That is where he made the mistake. He should have chosen a ju man with extensive civil service history or something like that, not a rugged politician or grassroots soldier. E get reason why Tinubu choose Fashola and the others to become governor and not some other qualified loyalists. 4 Likes |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 3:18pm On Jun 18 |
izzou: Your first statement is correct but over their years together there would still have been subtle hints about his true nature. Hints that might have been too subtle for an uncouth fellow like Wike to decode. The Yorubas say a man’s character is like smoke. It can’t be hidden for long. Betraying Wike is not the issue. It is the speed with which he did it and the violence with which he is executing it. Everything scattered like an atomic bomb within months o. Nah, Wiki is all muscle and little sense. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

afrodoc2: Love him or hate him, Tinubu sure knows how to select those who would hold forth for him. Fashola, Ambode and Sanwoolu are not known tested and rugged politicians; it’s obvious their selection was strategic . He saw a lot of people that worked with him and seem more politically grounded but he never mistake of pushing them for the governorship seat. Wike is making himself a case study for a political science discuss like this . However this matter ends , more theories about politics in naija will be propounded 7 Likes 2 Shares |

BlueRayDick: Wike overestimated himself the way itsrm does. He probably chose his successor with the intention of using the guy as a weapon fashioned against his enemies, forgetting that the weapon can also be used against him. His arrogance didn’t allow him to consider that any of his boys will turn against him. 4 Likes 1 Share |

afrodoc2: Nope, Wikes demands to control the Govt totally are beyond what any average man can bear. Sim is far from an Alpha, he was chosen because it is Ijaws turn to rule and Wike actually chose the meekest Ijaw man he could find in PDP. There is no other Ijaw man that you can trust to be a complete puppet. Sim was actually a good pick for the role of puppet, but Wike took his puppeteering too far. BlueRayDick: Sim is far from deadly. He simply rose to the occasion. The demands of a job will bring out the dog in the man even if he never had the dog in him. 9 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by WhoDeyHause: 3:27pm On Jun 18 |
BlueRayDick:Wike knowing who he is would always seek out someone who he thinks he'll be able to control or can't stand up to him when he barks orders. Was it not the same Sim that was called mumu and one who didn't know the power he had few months ago? He either underestimated sim or the threats and the massive support especially from anti wike FC that even grew after the presidential elections likely emboldened him to face his master square one. There are some animals that no matter how small or domesticated they are, once they are cornered with no room to escape they start fighting back. I'm not talking about animals. 6 Likes |

Ballzproblem2: Those guys are lesser evil compare to what Rivers have produced so far... Kogi is a symbol.of democracy...no state has Kogi political stability. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 3:30pm On Jun 18 |
izzou: All of this is happening because wike is hated after the 2023 elections. If he had not come out for Tinubu, and had sat in pH, none of this would be happening. In fact people would be calling Fubara to order. Fubara is riding on wike loss of goodwill as he has gone from wicked wike to weasly wike. Wikes biggest mistake was thinking he could eat his cake and have it. Amaechi was a fantastic governor who was chased into apc by PEJ. This is crystal clear but it has not stopped the indigenes from hating amaechi for being a 'traitor'. So how much more hated will there be for wike who consciously and with no issues jumped ship to apc? 4 Likes |

Ibime: Well you must have more info than me about the situation, but Tinubu also controlled Lagos state govt after he left to the extent that he is still in charge nearly 20 yrs after leaving office. He also made serious demands of Fashola. Demands that Fashola fought for a while, but he finally had to acquiesce to because he was not built for a dog fight. A factor might be that someone like Wike can keep loyalists mainly with fear. Once that fear is gone, the loyalty will also dissipate. 4 Likes |

afrodoc2: Tinubu actually gives much leverage and is always a reasonable man who does politics of settlement well. Wike is a brute who won't allow you breathing space. Even check their approach with Ambode and SIM respectively. Tinubu was patient enough to wait for the next primaries while Wike na just animal with no decorum 9 Likes |

Ibime: They are not from the region. So it'll be hard for them to fully appreciate why things are different in Rivers. I shuddered at the details of the deal Wike forced on Sim. In the ND, your loyalist or protégé is a junior partner not a doormat. Wike tried to play god and was promptly disciplined on how things actually work. He brought this on himself. -Lord 8 Likes 1 Share |

afrodoc2: The man was a political enforcer elevated beyond his core competence (election intimidation and ballot box snatching) He never had the charisma or emotional intelligence to carry his peers (the governors) along. His attitude then was always I am carrying my ball home if you people do not kiss my arse. 1 Like |

afrodoc2:I don't know how true this is but during one of my shifts few years back I heard from one of the men who came around that it was monetary issue that actually began their rift, that when ambode was in an outing with his group tinubu called him for the usual demands and after speaking to him and they ended, ambode started complaining that it hadn't been long he asked for money and he's already disturbing him again that what self unknown to him tinubu listened to everything cause the call was still on dial. I don't know how true though but the person who said it is actually well respected and worked with Lagos state government. |

This one is calling Tinubu. Why he no call Wike Ikwerre local government chairman, Samuel Nwanosike defies Governor Sim Fubara's order, arrives his council secretariat, calls on President Tinubu to intervene |

afrodoc2:Tinubu is more tact and would wait for the time to deal with you in contrast to wike who'll use aggression and threats if he sees you stepping out of line several people have even said it here. Even sanwo olu himself would probably not be happy when he first came in cause removing out of the government fundz to meet tinubu's demands would also affect his own when he wants to put his hands in the jar but seeing past antecedents he'll just continue being the stooge knowing he doesn't have enough in the tank to subdue tinubu, Wike himself should have given himself sense when he started seeing fubara gradually getting support especially as he knows what always happened with the past few rivers governors also involving himself but then baba is all for violence without tact, I just hope the next guber elections won't turn to a bloodshed after this gidigbo that's taking place. |
