Greetings everyone

My passport was damaged( the pic of my face got blurred on one side. So I applied for reissue and selected damaged as reason. Also uploaded a pic of the passpoet showing the blurred image and the other documents requested. Application was done May 23rd and appointment in Benin Center is 3rd June. However, my application has not yet been approved. What can I do please?

Permit me to quote a Nairalander, whose username is Slimani: "It's simple. Just make sure you're using white light on your face or just natural light outside your house. Take a selfie and make sure your two ears are showing, then crop the photo unto a white background. You can use remove.bg to remove the initial background (because the application would reject it if your shadow is showing at the background) and then use canva to add a white background to the photo. Also make sure that the photo is not more than 2MB in size".

Initially, I skipped the space since I am a man. But the preview gave the space as mother's maiden name, which I went back to re-edit and fill-in.

Now, after filling it in, subsequently, the place has been showing "maiden name".

So, the question is, will the place be filled with mother's maiden name?

let me share from my experience which is easy and best for all. You don't need to look for white background to take the photo just snap with any background the system will turn it to white automatically. Just make sure it is clean and cleared and make sure your two ears are visible and lastly to crop your photo to normal size, just look for two whatsap number share the photo from one account and download it in the second account, it will reduce the size when download in the second account. then you are good to go.

Please I have been trying to renew my passport on the NIS website but after I successfully input my NIN and it gets to the ‘Current Passport Details’ page, I keep on getting this error message:

‘The passport details provided by you are not found in the system. Please correct your entry and try again’

I have tried several times and also doubled checked to be sure the information I provided are correct but to no avail.

I started my application in December of last year and got a capture date for February 1, 2024 but couldn't attend. Now I want to continue with the application process; how do I proceed, please? I have the following documents:

1. Are the listed documents all in order? If not, which do I remove or include?

2. Can I just go to the Alausa office anytime and try to capture since I already missed my scheduled capture date? Or I'll have to re-apply? If yes, how do I go about it?

3. I got the error message, could it be because I'm yet to capture? Or there might be some issue with my application?

Please, what does a man who did change of name need to do to renew his expired passport and also effect the changed name? He has done the correction/update on his NIN. I'll appreciate all the help we can get from here. Thank you.
Note: He deposed to an affidavit already and has done newspaper publication.
