I thought election is synonymous with democracy?

Isn't right to choose and be chosen the main attribute of democracy?

Ukraine can't conduct elections because a dictator Zelensky supported by other champions of "democracy" said no election.

Citizens are looking for unconventional means to let the world know that election is being suppressed by Zelensky and his foreign masters through the ongoing Euros, so Germany being one of the suppressors quickly removed the flag voicing out the issue from the eyes of the public.
