iamoyindamola: At this point, make we kukuma close Hale End academy since every prospect is going to be a Nelson, Nketiah or those that have failed to succeed in the first team. 5 years, where is 1 academy player? Are you telling me that in 5 years, we did not find 1 single academy player worthy of transitioning to the first team? not first 11, not training with but transition to first team. 1 Like 1 Share |

mostob: You get am well. You see that recovery and nutrition, they said Saka takes it very very seriously. Like he doesn't joke with it at all. If you check most of this top athletes that hardly go injuries ehhn, if you see their fitness regimen, Baba you go run Na Ronaldo own be the Oga pata pata I doubt any footballer can strictly follow that with discipline 1 Like 1 Share |

Spy360:While I get your point but I think we're talking two different things but still I'll address the bolded. For the first bolded, Clubs isn't a type of slave trade to players. Remember, this players are under contract so you can't slash their salary just because they have injury or don't follow nutrition regimen(except where stipulated otherwise which is very very rare). While club will do their best, but it's still up to the individual to try and improve or better themselves if possible. Players job is just to be available on the pitch and give their all. Sure, club will make the environment and facilities great for training and all but it's still up to the players to take personal responsibility to improve and discipline themselves. No club will babysit you like say you dey pry school. Remember say na adults you're dealing with. Rich adults for that matter. As for the second bolded, thankfully Whites don't just "accept" it. I'm talking about improvement in fitness and ways whereby a player won't be having recurring injuries frequently. While I admit everybody's body is different but Science and technology have made those whose body is fragile to be stronger than how it ought to be. The said player just needs to put in the work. Remember, nobody will force dem to put in the work highest it's just to advise and do recommendation. With all those money and plenty enjoyment, it's not easy for most of these "fragile" players to be disciplined enough to see it through. Dembele Is a very big/good example. |

Roland17:As in I don't understand, we spend millions of money to develop the academy only to lose players and someone here is telling me we are emotional Which kind thinking is that, arteta will soon be the highest paying coach in the league and not one single academy player is in his squad He even used winning trophies as excuse then if our academy is not good enough we should close it, why is Bayern going all out for obi if he's not good The way some of us think ehn, no one expects academy players to automatically break in to the team, but they surely have potential, guide them, nurture and support them, make them feel among But you will list them in MD and they won't get a second |

Our Royce rolls is becoming unstoppable even though France are struggling in front of goal the defence is solid rock Saliba have this way of influencing his partner, upamencano is a known clown but he's playing with full confidence too 2 CS in 2 games |

Roland17:I said this thing sometime ago cause I don’t see the importance of an Academy that can’t produce a single player that can transition to the first team. To be honest, Arteta no try for that part at all 3 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 11:29am On Jun 22 |
Shegzdave:Truly, Arteta no try for that part. I personally I'm Sad duberry is leaving cos I feel he's ripe enough to be a deputy and squad player. And i understand Duberry's thought against going out on loan cos his predecessors who went out on loan from academy and being promised game time if they come back, none has made it(under Arteta), so I really understand his concern and I don't blame him(Patino a good example). But it doesn't make to be looking outside when there's talent inside. Wishing him the very best tho 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 11:59am On Jun 22 |
germaphobe:....And tbh I don't blame him. All the people who were promised this under Arteta haven't been close to the first team. Even Patino that was highly rated in the academy don dey silent after he went out on loan. If it was under Wenger, I'm sure he would have jumped at the opportunity. Anyways sha, na Arteta and the crew know wetin dem dey see for training cos me I feel he's ready to at least be a deputy and be given minutes in fa cup, Carabao cup and few minutes here and there in any of our comfortable wins. Nobody for know say Dem Palmer, Yamal, kobbie and all are ready if they didn't give them minutes |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by germaphobe(m): 1:27pm On Jun 22 |
Jodera:Everybody can say the same thing about Arteta when it comes to young stars but then just like you said, we don't train with them. Patino was a good prospect but his loan spells weren't convincing to me personally(everyone have there own opinion). It was under Wenger we let gnabry go, and now he's a beast(tho last season was hard for him), Willock and his brother didn't live up the hype, same as Marcus McGuane, look at nelson after how many years, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and even dasilva. Saliba admitted that going on the second loan to Marseille changed everything about him as a person and player. Sometimes, just sometimes what we think we know is just a mirage of the whole thing. I'm more concerned about Nwaneri at the moment than those that have left. Even martinelli said Ethan is the youth player with the most admiration from everyone so I'm looking to see how his own plays out. |

iamoyindamola:What do you understand by FFP? I go like learn. I was one of those who mentioned the FFP stuff in January. Partey was supposed to move and Raya deal made permanent so we can loan Toney. Currently, with the end of season revenue (UCL and EPL inclusive), added to the proceeds from players sale, FFP shouldn't be a problem. You were here calling for Arteta's head when the rumour about Obi moving to Bayern dropped here. Told you je has been offered a new deal but you said he is moving. You even mentioned Arda Guler and Yamal as examples of U16 who completed transfers recently which is false. So, chill...not all the youngsters will make the first team. There is even a clear out going on in the academy. Per was given around 30m to bring in new players. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by iamoyindamola(m): 2:46pm On Jun 22 |
mostob:You are going round and round without hitting the main issue Did obi rejected the contract or not, did Bayern make interest or not Yamal is 16, psg are Interested in Jim to replace mbappe Where is the lie? For the FFP, everyone knows that's why we didn't buy in January stop making it look like you made us know it If dubbery is going to be a good deputy for saka why do we have to lose him for free to buy one expensive for 50m FFP regulation is 200m net, if we spend 50m to get saka deputy is that not penny wise stupid deal when we could have gotten one for free in the academy Do you really understand how football club run finances or you are only interested in emotional talk |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by mostob(m): 2:53pm On Jun 22 |
For me o, make we win trophy anyhow. I don't really see the fuss about academy youngsters moving. I'm a human too and if Dubbery were my brother, I would advise him to move. There are four wingers for two positions and we're still been linked to another wingers. In a less important match, the backups will need game time too, to stay sharp. We crashed out to Liverpool in the carabao last season even with backups. In a match like this, how do you think these youngsters will perform? Before blaming the coach, let's examine the situation first and empathise. 1 Like |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by mostob(m): 3:01pm On Jun 22 |
iamoyindamola:Where did you read that Obi rejected the contract? Show us the fact here not hearsay. A rumour that was started by one United kid on Twitter FFS. Yamal is 16 so he is eligible to move. Your stance that day was that he is below the 16 years old and he is playing for Barca. The bolded is just pettiness. Nothing else. You want to make Dubbery a deputy for Saka, while competing for trophy at the same time? People who sat together and decided to buy another winger knew better than you who is a mere fan so I find it funny calling that a stupid deal. Like really? Look at the calibre of wingers we're linked to and compare with Dubbery. Someone who has not tasted senior football at all. And you will come here calling out the coach for losing the trophy? Stay one place Oga. Wenger did all the promotion stuff for years and what did we gain from it? You go teach us how football finance works on this thread. I'm interested. 1 Like |

You have emphasised so much on the bolded. In fact that's a definite statement. Now I am going to ask you to give me one 'science and technology' example that makes people who are not to be built for sporting activities. |

iamoyindamola:You dey run? Tell me how many minutes Dubbery has played in EPL for the senior team. Smith Rowe and Nelson went on loan before they became a mainstay in the team. Saka was brought in to play left back when we lack options and he seized the opportunity. Nico, Rashford, Olise are some wingers on our radar. Na them you dey compare with Dubbery? Ok na. Abeg stop this thing. For now, we go for trophies. When time reach, we will promote whoever we want promote. |

Jodera:Yea... This is why the guy is still durable despite the kicks he suffers every game. Haaland also practises the nutrition and the diet stuff. I salute Ronaldo for that sha. The only player that's still good and doesn't do all these fitness and nutrition stuff is Messi. Man is tough. I heard he doesn't gym much. Baba go come training, do small run and play ball. O pari. And he is still durable now. Imagine na Tierney dey collect all those kicks from Pepe and Ramos that year. Chei |

We fit claim say he's ready and good and all from wetin we dey watch from afar but Arteta and the crew fit have different ideas. Or perhaps, they just want a different approach. Anyhow Sha, Na Nwaneri be the kid I believe they're looking for to promote. The hype and belief around him, even from our players as you rightly said is much. Spy360:On the question you asked, Go and read about Messi. (Especially his growing up) Also read about Dembele in Barca. How his indiscipline caused him to be having injuries 24/7. At a point, they even have to appoint personal chef for him to be doing a laid out planned meals/nutrition for him but he doesn't follow it and sometimes still eat foods that were not recommended (pizza mostly). Also he reportedly doesn't sleep enough due to him playing video games at night. All these things were the cause of his incessant injuries that I'm even surprised how Barca still put up with him for years Are you wondering now that he's married and calm, he suddenly stop getting recurring injuries from his last years at Barca up to now at PSG? I guess his body was suddenly "built for football" I also gave you another example of Partey saying he'll cut down on noodles last season (beginning of 22/23 season) and miraculously, he played and was available for most of the season. Tbh, it's very very difficult to follow such nutrition strictly. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 3:43pm On Jun 22 |
iamoyindamola:Everyone is against academy players leaving. The question is how is it Arteta's fault? Is he the one coaching the academy? Or is he the one fixing contracts for the players? Last season most of our bench players hardly got playing time because we exited both the FA cup and the Carabao cups early. Or you want him to play academy in a PL or CL match? When there are other senior players (both those in bench and returning from injury) that haven't seen enough minutes? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 3:59pm On Jun 22 |
mostob:Lmaoo... I once listened to a podcast of Kevin Prince Boateng that once played for Barca. He said he pitied youngsters of Barca during his time especially those who wanted to break into the first team. That Messi would just do basic training routines without putting much work and can eat what he wants and if you give him the ball, Viola!, that's how he'll be dribbling everybody like cones Malcom and Dembele were looking at Messi and doing like that(that is not putting much effort in training even though they're very talented) and it's sure it's the reason they haven't reached the height people expect from them. He went on to say as a footballer, he loves Messi more than Ronaldo and believes Messi is better than him but he'll advise any young player who wants to make it in football (both in consistency and fitness) to look at Ronaldo cos Messi is a very bad model in that aspect. And if you look at it, it's true. Check all the players who their football idol are Cr7— Like footballers who strictly follow Cr7's discipline to a large extent, they hardly go injury. From Mbappe to Saka to Haaland (these are 3 that I've read their story and can remember off my head for now). Hardly you'll hear any of these guys having recurrent injuries or one kinda long lay offs consistently. No be jazz dem dey use. If you look at Cr7 nutrition you go run Evra said he once visited his home and that's the last time he'll ever visit it. No wines, no drinks. Chicken that he was served was just plain boiled white chicken (ie, it wasn't spiced or sauced at all. Just boiled in hot water and brought out) And immediately he finished eating, Ronaldo said they should go and train sharp sharp in his backyard. And worst part is that they were just returning from match not too long ago and he just wanted to relax in Ronaldo's place Like Ronaldo once said, "Everybody wants to be like me and it's easy. Just do what I do with discipline and consistency". But sadly only few people can do what he does consistently. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 4:01pm On Jun 22 |
Jodera:Lol 😂 The way you talk about nutrition as if it's the golden rule to avoiding injuries. See my note below. Meanwhile... 1. Why don't you tell me what happened to Messi. 2. What injury did Dembele have and how does that relate to not built for sports. 3. When did Partey start having injuries? When he started eating noodles or when he began old and his muscles could no longer cope? Which one? Notes I agree that nutrition and training helps players to stay fit. Wenger used to insist on placing players on boiled chicken for muscular protein. That may have worked but it obviously didn't work for Diaby and RVP. So while nutrition helps, that does not mean that any player that has recurring injuries, is not taking nutrition and training seriously. That will be an exaggeration and an insensitive allegation. Secondly, science and technology helps. But it can only help you if there's something to build upon. A player who naturally has thin bones or muscles will always struggle with rigorous sports compared to those with thick muscles and bones. This is a fact you must accept. Science may help strengthen the muscles but it will not be like when it is natural. Example is use of steroids. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by mostob(m): 4:16pm On Jun 22 |
iamoyindamola:You're getting this wrong bro. Let's spend money and buy player wey go help us win trophies first. Put yourself in Kroenke's shoe. Which should come first? Sign players that will improve the squad or promote untested academy boys. City who are way better than us, let go to Mahrez. They brought in Doku and sold Palmer. Palmer could have easily slot in as Mahrez's replacement but he was impatient. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 4:16pm On Jun 22 |
Spy360:Lol.. You're mistaken what I said. I never said nutrition is a golden rule to avoid injuries, I just said it helps to avoid recurring injuries like the one of dem diaby and presently Tierney. Nutrition and good physios and training regimen would help improve such limitations (the thin bones thin muscles examples you gave). The way you're making it sound, it's as if nothing can be done once those players have that limitations, they're unfortunately left to themselves and we need to unfortunately "accept it". That's not what I'm agreeing to Injuries is part of football no doubt but when it's getting too much and frequent then something needs to be done. And for something that needs to be done, it's up to the individual to make it work cos they're strict disciplines for one to undergo. That's just my point. Thank goodness you brought the example of Wenger. Since he introduced that nutrition regimen into their diet, it was claimed that arsenal players mostly hardly go into injuries and they were more fitter and faster. It was like that in years 2000(or so), Arsene bragged the he saw himself going unbeaten in the league which he did. And even at that, some players still secretly violated the rule (I think Ray parlor or so claimed to always sneak in ketchup that was banned and he have a secret agreement with one of the kitchen staff) That's to tell you the power of nutrition. Then add training routines/regimen and good physios. Then add discipline. Tell me why a player with such limitations won't improve? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by mostob(m): 4:21pm On Jun 22 |
Jodera:That's why I don't really buy into the 'Arteta doesn't promote youngsters' talk. None of us here know how things dey go in training. The Patino we're clamouring for, he couldn't start up to five games since January. Where is Azeez now? Spain division 2. I don't know how Balogun is doing but he has not replicated that recent form of two seasons ago. If spending in another winger will improve the team and take us more steps forward, I'll take it. 1 Like |
