Only an African elder would want someone younger than him to treat and address him like an elder

Seems some of y’all haven’t lived outside the shores of Nigeria

There’s no Ekaro sir for abroad

It’s a free world I’m surprised a 3rd world country is so adamant on respect and acknowledgment when there’s a bigger problem out there

This is a Nigerian thread. This is not abroad. Even abroad,I still don't see or treat people without regards. I hold it upon myself and my roots to be polite , decent and thoughtful. What that boy did is pure crassness.

Controversy here
People now think Onyeka proved himself at Afcon and should be starting ahead of Ndidi
They say Onyeka’s work rate is unmatched
He just doesn’t shoot
They say he’s improved and now better than Ndidi in the past 6 months
Both players don’t shoot though
Is this true?
Is Onyeka > Ndidi ?

It's just a moment of form. It doesn't take away anything from Ndidi. I think Ndidi was not just in the best of form.

I watch podcasts where ex players come and they talk about their coaches. Even those who had a rough patch with their coaches talk with a certain courtesy even arrogant players like Ibrahimovic.

I don't know where you got your expectation but it's not outdated to respect elders. Even wild animals do that.
what makes you think zlatan is arrogant ? What’s your definition of arrogance ? A lot of Nigerians conflate self confidence and high self esteem for arrogance

Eur:opeans that invaded Asia, America and Africa and killed a lot of the indigenes are the ones you're calling morally sound..

You have a mental problem.
Define the phrase "morally sound"
then we can take it from there.

u just lack knowledge.
perhaps u can learn few things by searching out the meaning of the phrase morally sound, and refrain from insulting someone

One definition of arrogance is an offensive show of superiority.

Everyone is good in their own eyes, if it was up to individual interpretation there would be no words like pride or narcissism

Because we are not alike,
here it is.

"Morally sound" is a phrase used to describe an action, decision, or principle that is ethically right and just, aligning with moral principles and values such as honesty, fairness, compassion and respect for others.

In essence, something that is "morally sound" is considered to be in accordance with moral standards and guidelines, and is often associated with a sense of responsibility, integrity, and respect for the well-being of others.

Now tell us from the above definitions,
in what area you are better than the Europeans and Americans in all of these virtues
.

All of these is following the accepted standard of behaviors based on what is right or wrong,
not religion.

That we have the biggest churches and mosques, and highest number of religious people doesn't make us more morally sound than the whites.
folks like u might think like that, but that's ignorance.

In all of this politics of taking sides, i have a question. Did Finidi George truly say that 'He cannot beg Osimhen to play'?. is there an audio evidence or sth? Or is it just another report distorting facts to captivate an audience?
from what journalists have said, I think he said it but to a gathering of few friends/people, I guess someone from that gathering went to tell Osimhen

Simple,Osimhen reacted to rumor…Finidi said it to few friends and one of them went to tell Osimhen, this is figment of imagination from poor journalism.

Sir, these is the most likely possibly, cos if it's rumors, then FG would had come out since to clarify,

And If Colin had not come out with that damage control, we would not had been here

pls Sir let it end here

Do yo know how old is Finidi, coming out to say what?see I hate it when one is trying to support nonsense just cus one is a fan.

I respect and rate Osimhen highly but some attitude is no no for me,talking and disrespecting people anyhow,on top wetin….Stephen Keshi was banned from Nigeria football and left the country as a sad young boy but never disrespected Nigeria. The same Keshi was maligned by Alex Akinyemi on live television watched by millions of Nigerians but Keshi did not respond.

Recently Sadiq had issues with eagles, dropped from Afcon team but never go online ranting. He had issue with Finidi too but never go on IG ranting but for some to condemn the act they are bringing in contexture respect of white men.

Sincerely the issue is not about Finidi but our APOTY winner on IG talking like Portable, disrespecting Nigerians, reacted to unsubstantiated rumors that till date no one can come out to substantiate.

Next thing was another angle to the baseless story that Finidi said this to few friends and one of them went ahead to tell Osimhen and next,VO to went on IG,cursing people,if it is true is that not stupidly for VO to react in that manner.

Just check thegoodjoe and TheSuperNerd responses on the issue and you see perfectly comments, they condemned VO but to some VO can’t do wrong.

As you said we should let it slide, nothing we say here had any real impact whatsoever on what is going on out there but good that we are rubbing minds as football fans.

I will not say anything on this again.I wish Osimhen well.

Respect Do4luv and Happy Sunday

Please stop misinforming people. There's social hierarchy in Japan too. A student would bow lower/longer in greeting a teacher in comparison to a fellow student for example. And please be careful how you use the word "real". There seems to be an underlying assumption that since the Japanese have flourished economically, their form of respect must be the real one. Very dangerous thought process, if that's what's going on here. The socialization of a people is not necessarily dependent on their economic strength. Their are areas for which they are independent. They may combine to produce some emergent behaviour, but you have to have good reasons for thinking certain manners or habits we cultivate are necessarily a product of both.
Japanese have a culture of respect that predates its modern state economy. Finito.
