pocohantas: Change the quality settings. If she watches through YouTube, change the quality to 360.. it will still be crystal clear but not as clear at 460+... On Netflix restrict heavy data usage by opting for lower quality... All these 360 quality still looks better or at par with most of these decoders. 10 Likes |

I use Starlink, if you can afford the monthly subscription, then I highly recommend you use Starlink. I watch Netflix, Prime and Showmax on my TV. I stream 4K content seamlessly on Netflix and Youtube. Everyone in my house is connected and I even share my Wifi password with two of my neighbors. 5 Likes |

You can go To Settings and reduce the resolution or video quality so it won’t be swallowing your data ,there are reasonable video quality that ain’t bad and won’t chew your data like that 3 Likes |

Smart TV plus data or screen cast is better than DSTV. The disadvantage is just the cost of working on it when it has any issue. 1 Like |

MrBrownJay1: Bro, I need your IPTV provider let me use their 1month trial and decide if I will switch from my current provider. Though I still have over 8 months left on my current plan, but there’s this excessive buffering these days that I’m thinking it’s not caused by my network. Please how can I reach you privately. |

Op, if you must have a smart tv then you must have unlimited data, preferably 5g. Then all your data needs at home is sorted. Netflix, showmax, disney, prime, they all use data even when you watch on your phone or laptop. Just use unlimited data. |

ONNYX:Thank you very much. With regards, I don't know how legit the stats below are but they consume that much when streaming. Apps like Netflix should be subscribed on HD if you want to consume less data but still want to login directly from the tv. A good 4k TV should upscale the picture quality. It will still improve the picture quality but might not give that much details to the video.

A simple breakdown of the difference between use of dstv and subscribing to use smart TV will help. For example...... Compact packages for dstv is @ +/- 25k. Premium is +/- 35k. What follows should be, which data subscription is of competitive value to the above in order to enjoy your smart TV? I think this is what pocohantas is seeking help for. |

Check the resolution of the media you are using. The higher the resolution the more the download rate. Some people will say they want 4K TV. Their pockets can't handle it. |

pocohantas:u have sub the highest video quality pixel on Netflix.. that will consume ur data faster. I think it's 4k HDR.. change ur Netflix plan to I think only HD. And u won't even finish 30gb for a month... Wen I started using smart tv then, I did the same mistake and I was using over 10gb to watch a single movie until I changed the plan 6 Likes 1 Share |

Allardyce: Hello, just installed my DSTV after a long hiatus since 2022, the decoder came on and began upgrading but it suddenly stopped sending signal to the TV, and showed a yellow light on the decoder, which refused to switch to green or red when the power button is pressed. I've informed DSTV and they told me to bring the decoder tomorrow with the power adapter to their nearest office. The installer is telling me the decoder installation probably hanged, and I might need to buy another decoder. Abeg make una epp me oh, I just bought this decoder brand new in 2020 oh. JohnnA1: Enlightening me, Why are you doing this? Once i click the torrent magnet my system automatically opens it with QBittorent. Direct downloads are different from the way torrent files are downloaded. I prefer torrent style. Direct downloads seem more linear, if you download 50% of a file, you might be able to watch 50% of the file but torrent you might not be able to watch the file at all cuz torrent gets different pieces of the file till its one whole. The advantage of this is that you can always continue your torrent downloads anytime unlike direct download you would have to start all over. 1 Like |

pocohantas:Best approach is to use unlimited data wifi. Capped data on smart TV is a no no. The beauty of the smart TV is when you're watching everything on HD. 1 Like |
