I have been a member of this forum for years now but just registered a new username for the purpose of this post. I am a female who just got scammed of my hard earned money.

I have not been the type who had interest in these online businesses and investment aside Money Market Funds and Fgn Treasury bills and the likes

This particular investment was introduced to me by someone i trusted and have assisted financially severally. I carried him along all through the as it was going and he reassured me that everything was fine.
It went on within a space of 2 months, i invested over 10million naira ( so many years savings and loans), borrowed from everywhere including salary account to ensure i met up with the so called target., and when it was time to withdraw, lo and behold excuses started setting in. Till this moment, it has been excuses upon excuses before my eyes cleared that i have been scammed.

The one who introduced it to me is still saying it isn't scam and even started sending me credit alerts of people who just got paid by the so called company.After taking a critical look at one of the alerts, i realized some errors which made it clear that they were not from the bank as claimed.
I have put my last kobo, including borrowed money that i haven't even earned on this scam investment and now reality stares at me.

NB the returns wasn't really high though was in dollar so the low and steady returns was part of the reason i thought it was real even though i never did withdrawal aside just a little amount just to check how it worked which they paid.

Reason for creating this thread is to know if there is anyway one can recover such money and if there is any ACTIVE Agency or group that one can report such to that would not demand for money until after recovery because i don't have any dime to pay right now as i am servicing a whole lot of loan as a result of the scam

Kindly reply here so that others in similar circumstance can equally benefit from the responses

You heard dollars and your GREED took the front seat to the point you had to borrow MORE money.

Plus, who in their right senses takes investment advice from someone so IMPOVERISHED you had to help him out with money on SEVERAL occasions?

You fuuucked up BIG TIME. And the cost of the lesson is that #10 Million because you can rest assured you'll NEVER see a dime of it.

What really grinds my gears is that you are an EDUCATED person. Yet you still fall for shady investment schemes in 2024. Very DISAPPOINTING!

For future purposes, read the RICHEST MAN IN BABYLON. It tells the story of a man who took investment advice from a brickmaker.

He learnt the same lessons you are also now learning.

I know you are mad at me, and I was with myself also and even called myself mumi but just trying to calm myself for now.

The alert I mentioned were the ones the evil guy that introduced it to me started sending after I was scammed just to convince me that it wasn't scam and they still paying some people, that my issue was a peculiar one
Yes. I know about those viable investment & have been investing in them for over 6 years. I couldn't even at any point invest up to 10m because I never borrowed to invest in those viable ones. It's such a pity

I have heard about that book but never read it. I will definitely get and read when I come out of this

Not mentioning the name of the company is deliberate for now. Reason being that, the scammers may equally be here and reading. I wouldn't want them to know about my plans

Have you tried reporting the case to your bank? I'm not saying that the bank can do anything for you but they usually have connections to anti fraud agencies so start there.
And also try filling a police report not that it would do anything but just in case.
Try not to think too much about it and try to salvage the situation.

I just started making comments here less than a year now because of talks like this that I have been reading since 2009 I became a member. Someone is here seeking for assistance on how to recover her money from scammers and u are still typing this? Nah wah!

So sorry for this loss Sir/Ma. It's very sad news o loose such huge amount at this very bad time. It's well with you. That's Y I will personally not invest in things like this. I remember during the MMM time, a neighbour of mine persuaded me severally to invest in MMM then, I was just posting him and when I now decided to give it a try with at least 5k, that was when the problem started. I was just so lucky to have escaped it then. May God replenish u back in Million folds and May God also send u a divine helper soonest. So sorry once again.

Hi have you seen the investor physically? ie one on one. . And also the location of this "investment business" ?

Lol. I would have felt bad with his comment if it were like a month ago I got such response, as it is now, I have already considered the worse case scenario and God is seeing me though.

He may not be in the know that it is a fraud dealings. Maybe he too genuinely wants you to make money just as the ideas were sold to him.

Inasmuch as I’m inexperienced about debt recovery, I’d suggest you refine some of the advice up there cos from the way you write, you sure have something upstairs so I wouldn’t bother about you making the right decisions.

If you can afford it, hire a private investor to find out the person/s behind the scheme. Once you have their details, you can petition the EFCC.

It's quite disheartening that Nigeria is now a jungle where everything comes and goes.. scamming and stealing is now an occupation people even register thier kids to learn internet fraud all in the name of HK AKA yahoo yahoo this country we need to start speaking up I don't know how this country will be in the next 20 years coming with the way we encourage and worship internet fraudsters AKA yahoo boiz

There's a chance that he introduced you to a ponzi scheme without actually intending to scam you. Such things happen a lot with pyramid schemes.

That said, you should go to any EFCC office near you and give them all of his details. 10 million naira is not a small amount of money. You should also be ashamed of yourself for being careless.
