Under this government? Insincerity is also a challenge. Pushing your irresponsibility and bad behaviour to others is part of our challenges. Everybody go chop breakfast

It's sadly not a Nigerian passport issue but a personal issue.

Whatever her dad was up to...only himself and the Austrian government can tell.

Nigerians are still getting shengen visa for EU tourism

This is so true

Keep your sad story to yourself! You got what you deserved.
When your father was an ambassador how many Nigerians did he help? Was he not the one speaking foreign language whenever Nigerians went to him for help?

These elites are very shallow minded.

You refuse to fix your health care, education and all that.
Your President flies abroad, gets treated by a white physician. That alone is an issue of national security.

Your minister of education sends his child abroad for both first and second degree.

And then you put on good suit and introduce yourself as an Ambassador or Governor .....lol

The truth is they know that mentally, the black man is closer to apes than human.

They just look at you and shake their head.

Shameless race!!!

Now,both the great and small are feeling the heat.Governance is business for all not for few outspoken people. Some of these persons when they were in office failed to speak against the ills of the system, today they are getting their rewards.

When it rains we all get wet not just poor people. Let us pray that what happened to Jewish people in Germany doesn't happened to us. I have been telling people that it's important we work on ourselves. Work to make our country great. What is your dad going to do there as a matter of fact.
We welcome anything to our country, they dont have to welcome your dad because he was a diplomat. They already have one there now. Protect your country they are protecting there's dont take it in a wrong way. Your dad's is not going to add anything to their society just like he didn't add anything to his country.

Was he going there to be a destitute or nuisance? Abeg use your head. Sometimes these embassies employ illiterates who make stupid decisions. It has happened to me years ago, I was working for one of the largest multinationals and was scheduled for a business trip. They denied the visa on the grounds that I might not come back to Nigeria.

An application fully paid for and backed by the multinational.

Needless to say that decision was later reversed.

I have also seen a situation where a seventy year old ex diplomat going for a medical trip was told the same rubbish.

That ecowas passport get serious issues. Talking from first hand experience. Even China has issues with it despite all the development and business engagements in Nigeria and Africa.
Nigeria's image abroad needs urgent and critical intervention cleansing.

Unfortunately, it's same Naija youths (also on this nairaland platform that continue to do the damage to the image.....As if it will solve their problems!! Pure Ignorance!!

National Orientation agency has a Great role to play in this regard. But am not sure they even know they have a major role in recreating this nations image. (NOA can reach out to me if they wish to....on the way forward) My patriotic contribution!!!

There is more to the story than she is stating because if regular people like me can get a schengen visa, it is unusual for someone of that status to be denied.

Instead of finding out why a well travelled career diplomat is being denied a visa to a country in which he lived and served for 3 years, we are here blaming "Nigeria". We all act as if Nigeria gave us all the bad reputation we have internationally, rather than the other way round. We all contributed one way or the other to giving Nigeria and our passport the poor international rating. It did not happen in one day and it will not change in one day either.

Speaking to the matter of this diplomat for instance, there could be a number of factors responsible for the rejection. It could be down to something as simple as filling the forms incorrectly or not supplying adequate information. Rather than use that as another avenue to rubbish or denigrate the country and our passport, file an appeal and find out why you were denied.

it is a Nigerian passport issue
Don't deceive yourself

E visas Turkey used to give Nigerians went out of the window
Nigerian passport holders for the most part are locked out of the UAE
other counties that often give blanket visa on arrival to many countries specifically blacklist Nigerians

and yes, even the schemgen you mentioned

Nigerian passport holders are subjected to filling many forms here in the UK, for visa that they reject from time to time

do you know how annoying it is when your South Korean friends and Brazillian friends can dash out out the UK and dash in almost biweekly without having to see the four walls of VFS while you with shitty passport will be doing "I beg to apply" for schemgen?

Guy the passport is casted
let's tell ourselves the truth
