Sleeping with a man overnight in his home for 1-3k? Killing a fellow human being for 100k? All I see in this story is extreme poverty mixed with extreme wickedness and extreme stupidity/ignorance.
These are the people enjoying tinubu governance , and why are you complaining?

Forget all this tribal tantrums, SW needs to stop the pretence and tackle the current endemic poverty in the region. NW pretended under Buhari and they're currently the Worst hit after North East as a result of Buhari's incompetence.
SW is towing that same path

They are also rice and plantain bandits.

Whoever is destined to be rich will be rich!
Whoever is not destined to be rich will only wahala him/herself!

Dangote was destined to be extremely rich!

Someone promised a hooker 3k to exchange her life for 100k!

Many lack conscience!

And all of you saying this was caused by poverty! You are mistaken! Someone who can engage the services of a hooker is not poor!

Even if they are not poor, they'll want more money!

It is greed!

Nobody is destined to be rich or poor. We all make our path.

We talk, drop comments move on until the next ritual killings. Come again repeat the same cycle. We are all obviously confused or somewhat unknowingly complicit. Ritual killings is not only a Nigerian issue but is wide spread across Africa. Maybe there is a curse on Africans.

Nigeria.

Once again government has failed in its responsibility to secure lives of the citizens.

How many more Nigerians have to die before they agree that the country isnt working?

Is it always govt? The sick and fetish mentality displayed is also govt? And the "they", who are you referring to? Some all powerful group to make things right? And has that ever happened? If not, why then, are you still saying GOVT? The so called GOVT is made of Nigerians. It is also possible the evil criminals featured in the story have family in govt or people that have the same mentalities as them in govt. So do you still think it up to Govt

What YOU can do to reduce the misery around you, try to do. Do you volunteer in any educational or health facility? Do you volunteer to train the younger ones on areas that you experienced at? Have you thought of forming an organization that collects data on issues that don't have enough information, thereby enabling more efficient decision making?

Society is reliably built on institutions. Find ways to increase the capacity of institutions around you, thereby enabling them serve you better. For example, in this case, why wasnt the name of ifa revealed. That is a limitation in the reporting process. Journalists and other interesting people could find a way to ensure that names of animals like ifa should always be revealed, and a dedicated follow-up team (possibly an online group) can keep track on developments on the case. There are many other scenarios that can benefit from sustained citizen action.

Only WE can build a society to meets our needs. So try.

You are focusing on the ant 🐜 while the elephant 🐘 in the room is looking at you.

One of the primary function of government is to secure lives and properties. This incident is just one out of the many killings going on.

What can a private citizen without powers do when the government with constitutional powers, money, and other resources has become useless and irresponsible?

To whom much is given, much is expected.
Re: How We Killed Commercial Sex Worker For Ritual In Ogun – Suspect by AlphaHakimi: 12:49pm On Jun 27
Prostitution and Armed robbery bear the same risk. For each time and armed robber goes out to rob, he has made up his mind that he may not return alive.

Each time a prostitute goes out for her business, she should make up her mind that she may not come back alive.

This has nothing to do with your financial condition. Both categories just don't want to work, so nobody should feel pity for the prostitute.

The number of ritual reported is merely a fraction of what is going on out there.

Everyone should be careful and choose legit work instead of the shortcut.

Shalom
